Re: Arcade 1UP
Bargain threads have seen Ms Pac Man, TMNT and NBA Jam for half off ($200-ish) at various Walmart locations. I'd be interested in Ms Pac-Man, but I think it comes with Galaxian instead of Galaga, and no Dig Dug. The new Class of 81 version bundles Ms Pac Man & Galaga, along with Dig Dug and a few other games, but the price went way up to $600.

If the newer ones coming out now were in the $4000-450 range, I would probably get one. Even The Simpsons' machine looks tempting, but again the price is more than I care to pay.

This is a (long) interesting discussion with the execs at Arcade1Up about their upcoming games, material and licensing costs, etc.

I know it's not Arcade 1UP, but I got bored and bought one of those Atgames Legends Ultimate cabinets. Anyone messed with them at all? I've seen some pretty interesting mods

Just picked up a Centipede stool for cheap at HSN to match my Asteroids stool from QVC. Perfect stools to match my Atari Legacy Arcade1up.

Great deal on the stool. Looks like it and the Pac-Man stool are up to $59, or at least they are for me. Or is that coupon or everyone?
Tons of ads on Facebook lately for phony scam websites with $90-$125 Arcade1Up machines. I report every one I see.

Ah, I already used the $20 first-time customer HSN coupon last year when I picked up the Ms. Pac-Man 8-in-1 Partycade.

Terminator 2 Arcade is officially listed on the Arcade1Up page, no price given.
Walmart is listing an exclusive 40th Anniversary Ms Pac-Man for $299 (no riser or light up marquee) which is half the price of the glitzy Class of 81 Arcade Machine, but still includes almost all of the same games Ms Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Mappy, Rompers, King & Balloon, Galaxian, Tower of Druaga, Rolling Thunder, but is missing Galaga 88 and Dig Dug II.
I might break down and get Ms Pac-Man, that's a great price, and the generic riser is only another $45 at Walmart.

Late response, but yeah, what the hell. We got my oldest son the Marvel cabinet for Christmas two years ago and our youngest has been asking for one ‘with superheroes’ for this Christmas for months. If I recall correctly, the marvel cabinet was $300 and we got it on sale at Walmart for $250. Anything my youngest would like looks to be in the neighborhood of $700 now, which is way more than we’re willing to spend. The craziest one to me is the new TMNT cabinet, which has the same games as the original, but has different art printed on it and now has doubled in price. That’s just nuts. I could get him a 40” tv, his own Switch, a tv stand and several games for that much.

These things multiply like rabbits. Got my first one last month and now have 3, with my 4th on pre-order.

Re: Arcade 1UP
I just cannot justify the prices for these things when my ALP can play them all with a bigger screen and better quality controls.
I nearly bought T2 but the price was insane for what it is.
That said, Perry, your room is very cool

Yeah that looks amazing. I'm jealous, but as much as I like it, it's not worth the divorce it would prompt in my house.

Congrats, Perry! I haven't seen it yet, but my stepfather-in-law just got the Tempest 12-in-1 cab to go with the Galaga one he picked up a couple years back. Both at my recommendation, so I guess I'm a bad influence.

Re: Arcade 1UP
Centipede is my favorite of the 36 games across the 3 units, then in order Joust, Rootbeer Tapper, Missile Command and Tempest are getting the most play. I'm still having a hard time with the controls for Asteroids and Defender, but I'll work on that. I need to create a cheat sheet for the special moves for MK2 and SF2 so I can regain the skills that I had back in the early 90s. I did play a few games of Ghosts N Goblins on the new unit and it's at least as hard as I remember that series was back in the day.
My trackball on the Atari unit started getting sticky when scrolling left and right, and after checking with an Arcade1Up facebook group, found that it's a common problem, and has an easy fix. Had to pry off the trackball control box from the controller board, pop off its cover, then using a q-tip, I rubbed a little lubricant on the gears of the rollers that the trackball sits on. I did fill out a warranty request on the Arcade1Up page and they sent me a new trackball, but I'll keep that in storage for now. But, after that touch of lube, the trackball works perfectly again, so I'm happy.
These machines are on my first level in my house, in an open space between my kitchen and my family room. Probably breaks all feng shui rules, but I like that I have easy access to play a few games. When I get my 4th and 5th units, it may become a little bit of an eye sore though, so at some point, I may have to relegate them to the basement. Tron won't show up until mid-December assuming the pre-order date holds up, but I'm keeping an eye out for the Ms Pac Man 40th anniversary edition at Walmart, so that may be my next machine. Then I think I'm done for a while, the only other unit I would get day 1 would be a Donkey Kong machine, but don't think that licensing is likely to come through. I would love a Q*Bert machine, but with the diagonal controls, it'll be hard to pair with anything other than the Q*Bert sequel, so it's not likely either.

I’ve been checking local Walmart’s for clearance and came across the 40th Anniversary Pac Man for $200, so that’s what my youngest is getting for Christmas. He’s only 4 and mainly wants it because his big brother has one, so I’ll just have to sell him on Pac Man being a superhero.

Will the upcoming Ms. Pac-Man have the unofficial turbo mod on it? Fast Ms. Pac-Man is my favorite game, ever.

Great deal at Kohls. This machine was way over-priced at the $599 price, but at $449, it's a great deal in line with their other legacy cabinets
