So, I'm only just now dipping into the latest consoles. Are these pre-order/deluxe bonuses still on eBay-able codes? I like the DE cover better and for $8 net after GCU, I'm sure I can justify risking the resale of that junk.

Yeah, it'll be a code you could sell. I bet some idiot would buy it for the difference in price you'll be paying. I like that cover more as well, but not enough to eBay a code.

Usually; I know the Arkham Knight store-exclusive stuff was just a paper insert, and in my experience are really dumb and pay way too much money for it on the secondary market, so it's always a win.

same.. I actually got excited and quickly checked best buy... I'm not sure if a 55 dollar mini 6 pack fridge is a good deal... but it is when it's this one...

Playing the beta now. Thanks EA.

God, this game is so good.

Before jumping into Survival Mode to get a feel for the controls. Also, hold down the down button on the D-Pad to change from 1st to 3rd person (and back).

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

There's no way I'm touching this beta. I already know I'm going to like this game; I don't need to be teased like that.

Glad to hear it's good, though.

I'm getting it for sure but like Destiny just gota have a taste.....anyone know can you get a group/party and do the Drop Zone and Walker Assault or is it just jump in with all random players? Can't wait to do Survival either.

Early access started yesterday. We got codes from the EA team we met back in August.

Yes, you can party up for Drop Zone and Walker Assault. I don't know about Survival mode as we didn't try that, but Survival mode is the only mode in the beta at least that is split screen.

I pre-ordered it at Gamestop and I am an EA Access subscriber. Would I have access to this game when I get home this evening?

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

Correct me if I'm wrong but Survival is Two-Player co-op only correct? And is it just you two or is there AI's sort of in the mix helping?

Survival is one-player as well. There's no help from AI. The beta only has the "easy" mode which is definitely pretty easy.

Played the beta last night and it was great. Switched to 3rd person for that original battlefront feel. Helping to take down an AT-AT was awesome.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

I've been watching a lot of Twitch streams and noticed most play in 3rd person. Is there a benefit to it over 1st? Can see more of the area surrounding your character? Or more for nostalgia reasons?

No, I checked last night. But the good news is that with EA Access you will have full access to the game 5 days before it's released! (Just like they have done with the sports games and other releases in the past).

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

Probably been answered, but is this game then totally online or have an offline campaign? I seem to recall and offline campaign. Any multiplayer games that does not come with offline/bots mode i feel misses the mark as it sets its target on only a certain group of gamers who can/want to play online. I live in a place that has shitty internet, but even when living in the UK with super fast net speeds i still preferred to play offline.

According to the Wiki....

There is an offline mode where you can play coop missions. Can play with players or bots. There is not a campaign mode. Consoles support split screen.

Re: Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)

Yeah, it sounds like it's going to be set up like Evolve. But I imagine this game will do much better in sales
