Where are you guys seeing the upgrade kit available already?
(On Playstation) I'm seeing it only as a pre-order right now, with the same future release date as the full version on 2/14.

It says pre-order on the PSN store but it will unlock everything immediately once you download the Season 5 Patch, purchase the Digital Upgrade Kit and start the base game/Arcade Edition.

I purchased it digitally through the PSN store yesterday and it worked perfectly.

I was missing a handful of characters and countless costumes/colors. Played with a friend last night and now had access to it all.

The final character (Seth) and a few additional colors will be released on 2/14/2020.

And? In those 3 years I have had the time to play lots of other great games.

I think you miss my original point, which is that Capcom out of all games companies are the worst for rereleasing games with added DLC content. This is maybe the 4th major release for this game in as many years. Capcom are such greedy fucks.

So fuck them to continue to support the game and add additional content after release? Yeah that seems like the attitude to have!

You are EXACTLY what Capcom want in a consumer. A person who knowingly buys a product that is designed to have years of DLC at premium prices and willing to pay through the nose for it. So yeah, Fuck Capcom. I have no problem with companies producing additional DLC and charging for it, but that DLC should be worth the price paid. Something like the DLC for The Witcher 3 which gives new stories, quests and lands and provide actual gameplay. Not a 1mb download for a skin that charges the consumer $8 for basically a cosmetic addition.

Look at someone like Hello Games and what they have done with No Mans Sky. I have loved that game since I bought it, but over the years since they released it they have continued to support and REALLY add to the game to the point it's so much more than the original game upon release. And the thing is, they have charged exactly ZERO dollars for any of the updates. This is a small company, not a large games company like Capcom.

So I will say it again.

Yes. FUCK Capcom. I am willing to buy a game when it is good and complete. They have a tendency to ensure at best only one of those aspects is adhered to, and even that isn't always the case.

Yeah, Capcom has been as greedy as possible with SFV. The initial $60 release of V was a shell of a game that was only expanded with paid content, with little to no free content to make up for it's dearth of content. Now, they're charging $25 for characters/stages that should've been there from the start.

Re: Street Fighter 5 (Date: TBA) - (timed?) Exclusive to PS4/PC

I'm not saying Capcom nailed it with SFV, but at least they stuck with it when they could have abandoned it like they seemed to have done with Marvel vs Capcom. The last iterations of Injustice and MK came out with $100 versions, just to offer a complete version a year or two down the line with even more content at half the price. It just seems like normal practice today for developers to try and figure out how to draw it out as long as possible while making the most money. Hence all of the battlepasses in games today.
