I will wait if ever getting this. I loved and finished the original and just couldn't get into or finish B2. It seemed the fun was lacking or maybe I got bored...

It took me forever to get in B2 as well; but I finished it. I will wait for a huge price drop on this before getting it.

yeah, Torgue was really a good addition to the series. He has a really funny part in this one. He hates laser weapons, so there are some funny interactions about that.

Playing Borderlands again makes Destiny's bullshit stick out even more, making me realize how chintzy it is. In just two play-sessions with Borderlands, I've already come across a handful of hilarious characters, almost a hundred varied guns (half of which are great), a bunch of noticeable powerups, leveled up 7 times, and had some crazy firefights. While Destiny looks and plays nice, Borderlands is so much more generous with the swag, that it makes you feel like you're accomplishing something and actually getting somewhere, which no real lull in between missions.

yeah. my buddy and i already have an orange weapon each (well, mine is a grenade). he got a gun. both around lvl 8 or 9. good shit. the loot is so much more varied and interesting. and i'll agree, the story is infinitely better. sure, destiny is more polished, but i'm having way more fun with BL.

I'm having a lot of fun with this. Although, I will say sometimes the low gravity jumping is a bit annoying. The loot drops and leveling are exciting as usual though, and story is fun, unlike a high profile game I played a couple months ago.

So I've gotten to level 13, which I think is about half-way through. Few things.
First, I'm really enjoying it, even with it's issues. Coming hot off of Destiny, which I sorta had to force myself to play (not because it was bad, just that I didn't feel I was accomplishing anything), I'm having a lot more fun with this, and am in the opposite predicament, where I actually have to force myself to stop playing.
I'm 50/50 on the oxygen thing. I don't like how you have to keep filling up with air, even when there are lots of places to do so. And I hate that the fire element doesn't work, even though that makes sense. I do enjoy the low gravity though.
I'm loving the Grinder (which I just opened up), and this should be game onto itself; looking for guns just to feed into this thing to get better guns.
The story and characters have been pretty enjoyable too, even if they're bit too "Aussie".
I do hate that I still have only 2 weapon slots available to me at level 13. What's the point of that? I'm spending way too much time in the menu swapping weapons, when there is no reason to not allow me to equip 4 weapons right off the bat, or at least far sooner.
Anyhoo, good or bad, while it may not feel like a true sequel, it is more than just glorified DLC.

Here's a guide for using The Grinder, which is probably the greatest edition to a Borderlands game.
I'm guessing the next one will have an even more robust weapon crafting system. Though I like the simplicity of The Grinder myself.

^^ Thanks for that! I do like the grinder addition. It's kinda like playing a slot machine and seeing what's going to happen. This helps with knowing what to input.

Pretty disappointed in this one after many hours logged. Not sure I have the stamina to want to finish it. Level 15 but this game is different than the borderlands I knew and loved.
Who ever thought the low gravity stuff in a first person shooter would be fun should be fired immediately. I hate it when developers think they need to put platforming elements in to a fps. It just doesn't work. I couldn't tell you how many times I've died trying to time or make jumps.
Also, this one's pretty unforgiving, one shot killed several times although I'm a level 15 playing a level 12 story mission.

Yeah I'm level 15 and I've not encountered any "platforming elements" that were any different from the previous Borderlands games. I'm having a ton of fun with this game. I played through the first two along with all the DLC and even though the Pre-Sequel is basically the same as the first two I'm fine with that. I think we'll get a lot more changes when they release 3 on next gen consoles. My only complaint is that I'm level 15 and I still only have the ability to have two weapons which is annoying.

I love the zero gravity stuff. AND it works just fine, if not great. Also, I'm on level 20, and I have no idea what you mean by "platforming elements". I haven't come across a single thing where I have to jump on to platforms and would die if I didn't make it - seriously, not a single one! Boost jumping is there, but it's mostly optional. There's the pads that propel you forward, but those are way easy and always throw you exactly where you need to go, never to your death.

Re: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel- (PS3, 360, PC) Fall 2014
^^ The game must play out differently for everyone. When I hit level 15 last night I opened up an additional weapon slot, so I can carry 3 now.
I'll stand by my platforming statement. I'm on a mission now to recover 3 echos. Two of them require timing your boosts/jumps to reach. If you don't you can very easily fall in to the canyon causing death. I know cause I've lost about a grand just respawning after dying. That's platforming elements to me.
A lot of other times during the game you have to try and figure out where to boost from to reach the objective. Almost every mission I've encountered, side or story, requires some kind of jump or boost to complete the mission, so there's no way it's mostly optional.

While I will agree that there are some minor platform elements to the game, those are mostly as a result of the new boost skill. They are few and far between, IMHO. It doesn't detract from the game. Having the new boost and slam skills are nice, but I almost always forget about the slam skill. I am having fun. I'm burning through this quickly, so I can play SO next week and then all the other crap that comes out in the next 2 months.

Also, I'm at a point in the game where there's gravity and you can't jump/boost, and I actually really miss it!

I am proud of myself, unlike Borderlands 2, I pretty much completed every mission and fought every boss. Including the final raid boss, I just missed the fight with Nel but I can get to that later.
I love the way this game was framed and the hilarious "pop-ins" from Borderlands 2 characters. I am now trying True Vault Hunter mode and was surprised that...
