Agreed. With what's looking like a lean fall for releases, Gearbox is missing the boat by not putting this on the PS4 or X1.

Are you fucking kidding me?

For both next-gen platforms, we already have confirmed:
  • Destiny
  • Mad Max
  • Alien: Isolation
  • Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • The Evil Within
  • Evolve
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
  • Far Cry 4
I am sure The Crew and Assassins Creed: Unity will get release dates sooner rather than later. Battlefield: Hardline will most likely be released this fall on next-gen. Driveclub is the only PS4 exclusive that we're aware of for Q4. Sunset Overdrive is guaranteed by the end of the year for Xbox One, but there's some sort of Halo entry we're getting too. Who knows what will also come out of the woodwork during E3.

I agree that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel should've been given a next-gen release. First rule of business: don't leave on the table. More people will be upgrading in Q3 and Q4 to the PS4 and Xbox One. 2K and Gearbox are shooting themselves in the foot by not porting the PC version to the next-gen.

I'm going to assume that 2K and Gearbox know quite a lot more about business (specifically the business of selling video games) than some dude on a message forum.

The sales of Duke Nukem Forever is proof of that!

I viewed the gameplay trailer and it looks fun to play but....I got a PS4 at launch and want to play games meant for and takes avantage of Nex Gen hardware. I'm still playing the 360 but right now only Diablo III. I DL the Free Saints Row III game and frankly having a hard time going backwards...especially after finishing Infamous and now with Wolfenstein.

Loved the first and probably my favorite Blind Buy. But it'll come to a point where everything I want to play is for the Nex Gen...especilly come early fall with a hefty impressive list of games for Nex Gen. Releasing this on 360, PS3 & PC only and this Fall = not good.

I know something that they don't know. I'm not buying any more Borderlands on last gen systems.

And when they find out I'm sure they'll be devastated.

Well, my thoughts here is that they think higher of their Borderlands franchise than many gamers do right now. I know that I got bored of B2 far quicker than I did the first one and never bothered doing everything the game had to offer. Now, their best opportunity to rope gamers like me in is to entice me by putting the next game on my shiny, new console.

Borderlands 2 is pretty much universally liked more than the first one so you're in the minority there. They probably figured this pre-sequel is going to be not much different to the first two (especially graphically) and they wanted their first Borderlands on next gen game to be special. So they are waiting for 3.

See, that's what I thought as well. I liked Borderlands 2 a lot, and rebought it when the GOTY package hit $20. The Pre-Sequel is just a way to give us a little more story, a little more Borderlands before doing something special for the third one. It's a minor cash grab. And I'm happy its coming out on Last-Gen systems anyway. I have no plans to upgrade to Xbox One or PS4 anytime soon.

Why, I remember it was just a few months ago when people were bashing the new systems for any number of reasons...guess those were forgotten (by most anyway) and now we are bashing those who want to release games on the last-gen systems. Oh wait, welcome to the internet.

The bashing has mostly been due to the lack of games and the re-releases on PS4/One (Tomb Raider, TLOU, Metro, etc). So this one coming this late into the generation will probably fall in the same boat, unless it's such a piece of shit that no ones cares if it gets ported over or not.

I actually don't really care either way about this one. We picked up B2 GOTY and just finished the main story and are now working our way through the DLC. So I'm feeling a little fatigue as well and wouldn't mind sitting out until B3 hits next gen systems.

I don't want you to think that I have a low opinion of Borderlands 2. I enjoyed it quite a bit. However, I found myself getting tired of it a lot quicker than I did the first one that I 100% everything. It would just be nice to see them put this one out on the newer consoles. Only one of my friends on my friend list even plays Borderlands 2 still and it is not very often.

Borderlands 1 was something different, new and just a blast to play. While BL2 seem to move the bar up it seemed to lack something the first did. While you can play solo the game shines with two or more. Solo on BL2 just seemed almost too big, repetitious and not as good with weapon drops as the first. I leveled up three characters all the way and one almost and seeing the same areas, same enemies but tougher 6-7 times over was enough for me.

Don't get me wrong I would have rather them put it on PS4 also but I can understand why they didn't. I've played my PS3 more since the PS4 came out than I have the PS4 so it doesn't bother me to play it on PS3.

I'll take one of the two options:
  1. A studio developing a game for next-gen and PC while passing the reign to another studio to port the game over to last-gen (e.g. Titanfall, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare).
  2. A studio developing a game for next-gen and PC only.
I'll likely pick up the next Borderlands on PC... in about a year or two when the eventual GOTY edition is $8 during a Steam sale.

Re: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel- (PS3, 360, PC) Fall 2014

Seems there might be a possibility getting it on the PS4 & Xo after all...

Borderlands Pre-Sequel Dev Will Consider Xbox One/PS4 Versions if Fans Demand Them

2K Games surprised some people earlier this year when it revealed that the next Borderlands game--Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel--would only be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. That remains the plan for the upcoming shooter, but there is now a glimmer of hope that it will eventually make it to Xbox One and PlayStation 4, too.

"All the players of Borderlands 2 are all playing on those [last-gen] consoles, that's the choice they've got. So we want to reward those guys and give them the Borderlands Pre-Sequel experience on that console," said 2K Australia's Tony Lawrence in a recently published E3 interview with Gamereactor. "If fans say, 'Hey, we'd really like this on a next-gen console,' well, we'll think about that. But right now, we're concentrating on the consoles we know."

Translation : "We're definitely putting out next-gen versions of these games, but we're going to wait for now and go strictly last-gen this year in hopes of suckering some people into buying the same game twice like they did with Tomb Raider and probably will do for GTA V"

....sad but pretty much right on. They can mark one off their "Sucker List" though...

I don't know if there are any preorder deals for this game because most people seem to have forgotten it exists.

Nope, Gearbox just forgot that a new generation of hardware exists.

That's what I was getting at. That's the reason everyone forgot. That it exists.

I don't know anymore.
