Enforcer @ Level 7...need any good weapon that fires a lot, has a site, and does some kind of shield damage. would like to pick up a machine gun.

Sorry to hear about the troubles...frankly with two or more Borderlands is downright fun. That early in there really is not much to worry about and deal with both enemy wise and your skills...it's basically point, shoot, jump and find some cover. If you can get in with some who has been playing the Borderlands games it might change your mind. What characters did ya'll start out with? Being new I'd probably recommend Axton for the firepower and turrets to help out plus skills revolve around explosives & grenades and a bit less complicated than the others. Salvador can be a beast and tank if done properly, just a somewhat slow. Maya and Zero are a bit different to play and have to be careful if overwhelmed by mobs.

man, this is a hard one. i am dying many many times more than the original B-lands. i'm level 14 and still have shitty green weapons and not too powerful either. i think that is the problem...lack of good weapons for me. the 1st had oodles of good weapons to be had as you trekked further, this one seems very stingy. gets frustrating, but still fun...

Lots of Golden Key Shift codes available. Use those to pick up a few better weapons in the early going. Might be worth the busywork. Any of the "5GK BLTPS" codes are still valid :

If anybody cares, the 360 version is $9.99 at Best Buy right now (in-store pickup to boot). I will just hold out for this one to be made BC, lol.
Edit: You might also get a copy with a slipcover and the initial DLC to boot.

Backup your saves of your main character and use a few golden keys, get the weapons and off-load them onto a mule character. Drop the mule character out and let it save. Reload your backed up saves from a memory card, keep your keys and bring in your mule to give you whatever it is you got out of the chest. Voila! You are now weapon rich and have keys to boot.
