Is that game fun? I'd join if you guys have good things to say about it.

I didnt have any 1* characters so i couldnt complete the daily to get the extra ISO. I ended up winning the 1000 HP so i opened up a couple slots and leveled up some 1*s. I ended up winning another 1000 HP today so maybe my luck has turned around a little.
my "go to" team for the difficult waves is still hulk/falcon/torch. its a great team if you can keep matching greens
I've been able to solo that 1* node with just Iron Man, so I haven't needed to use more slots on other 1* characters in case that's a concern.

My team is a level 117 1/5/3 Thor, a 114 0/4/4 Steve Rogers and 94 3/5/5 OBW. I use a 20% boost and 1 stock pile if I lose my first try through. Basically I keep using cap's red shield for recharging attacks, and use a blue to get a nice shield on the board. OBW keeps stealing AP with purple and will use blue for a heal if needed or to increase countdown tiles if they will really hurt. I end round 3 using a cap shield that way the enemy doesn't start round 4. In round 4, I unleash Thor's yellow and green which were not touched in the previous rounds and it basically destroys everyone.

And 1 maxed out lv 50 Iron Man is more than enough to beat that node.

I still have not scored the HP reward, oh well.

Contest of Champions fun? I'd say it's a fun distraction, if you just go for the daily rewards and slowly build up your roster. It's like Injustice with Marvel characters, though I like the play mechanics better in this game for some reason. It's not exactly a deep game or anything, and you need to abandon all hope of getting the 3 or 4* prizes in PvP unless you have a full roster and are ready to grind. But I think it'd be fun, depending on what the alliance actually entails (I'm not sure they gave out the details).

For 1*s: I think it's worth it to keep at least Juggernaut as a 1*... he'll be useful in the Deadpool stuff, and he's useful in at least two PvPs (the one where you need a 1* and the one where you rebalance everyone to maximum levels). I know roster space is at a premium, but in that last one, a minimally leveled, fully covered Jugs is great, because he basically sacrifices his life to kill the other team, and because he has so little health, he regenerates fast.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I pulled ANOTHER green Gamora from a taco token today, that's 3 of that particular cover in this deadpool cycle, and it will likely be the one available from the event later in the week, maxing out that cover. It's too bad I don't see using her that much and the power isn't her best.

I hope this luck continues with my ten pack later in the week.

Hmm, I'm not sure I need/want another grindy mobile game in my life since I already have this one If there are enough folks that play where it deserves its own thread and an alliance, i'll give it a shot though.

Meanwhile, Iron Fist is the next character up.

At this point I have so many partially covered newbies that I'm not super excited when a new character comes out. Which is odd because I love Iron Fist (and where's Nova, darnit?)

Iron Fist's powers aren't great, Cyclops was much better. I'm pretty much skipping this one since I don't need the Hood progression prize either. Did any of you guys happen to notice that the most recent PvP has a 3* Human Torch as the 500 point prize? I'm pretty excited about that. Nothing but ISO from Taco Tokens the last three days. Still gotta finish up my She Hulk. Not a very exciting cover even though I need it.

I was just going to post that, 500 pts is a crapshoot for me since I only have a few powerful guys, but it is reachable.

I have to strongly disagree. A 5 AP purple that will flood the board with Black or nuke a single target plus 600+ free damage every turn in addition to 7500 HP is crazy good. His skill set screams for a nerf. I'd rank him in the top 3 of 3*s. In a vaccum, I would rank him #1 of the 3*s.

So he'll get nerfed a few weeks after I get my last purple cover. Meanwhile I'll get destroyed by a bunch of maxed out ones next week. Great.

Nah, you'll still get beat down by 270 thor/xforces.

Hey, the whales have to get tired of playing Xforce/ladythor sometimes, right?

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I think that the point of the 3* being required to get the cover in the DPDQ is to help the transition to getting fully covered 3*s. Another 3* that you have to buy a roster slot for won't help you as much as another cover for a toon you already have. What really stinks about it is that you can't get the 2K iso award.

What really stinks is they wasted a slot with Spider-man. Hopefully we don't see Beast or Doc Ock anytime soon.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Got a blue Fury and green Xforce in my 10 pack, that's 3 straight Xforces in 10 packs.
In yesterdays 2 taco tokens I got a blue she hulk, and 250 HP, today my luck ended and just got 2 2*s though.
I am in a great group for Iron Fist, i'm 20th right now and have a hood so I will get 1 if not 2 covers. I got my required pts to reach 4000 for season so I can concentrate on PVE now.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Those are good pulls, my luck has been completely barren for several days now but I'm cleaning up on iso like mad. Just dumped 80k plus into my Hood.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Just got 1000 HP from a taco token. That makes 1250 total HP from taco tokens. Just 1250 more HP for another Thor cover.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

My luck continues, got 250 HP from taco token, the green GSBW (my 5th for that color which really is imortant) from the deadpool daily event, but the big winner was a green lazy Thor from a standard token!! I need two red covers and another green to have him set perfect, I can't wait for him to go into to the deadpool event.

New batch of Deadpool people are, grey black widow, Daken, Doom, Loki, and Squirrel Girl. I hope to have some luck on Taco tokens and get Doom and Daken.

So now I can boost Thor to level 130, but he is the only character that can reach that level other than a spidey. Is it worth boosting him? Would I be boosted into tougher groups, right now my high level characters are level 117.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

i have lazy thor boosted to max, so i'd say he's worth it. i use him and patch wolvie as my two main characters. my third is dependant on the opponent, but usually it's a maxed hood to steal.

Nothing like a 10 pack and getting all 2*, except for Nick Fury which won't be usable for awhile.

Dry spell continues today, another 500 iso. I think I might start hoarding.

I know he eventually will be worth it, I just don't have anyone else to go up with him. I'm afraid I will be boosted to harder matchups with only one strong character, I'll be easy pickings.
