Just got a 4* Invisible Woman from my Combined Arms 300 point token. Fourth cover for her.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I was going to say that whatever "boycott" might be explained that last week was vacation for many people, so some may not have been playing. But, I am currently 8th in the Arms event with 450 points, so maybe there is something to it.

Yeah, it's eerie. I'm in 49th with 450 points. And only 9.5 hours to go.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Why not, 10 iso a day is 10 iso a day.

I really hate this hulk event going on. It's brutal, but will hopefully get that doom cover.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I've decided that I don't care about the Doom cover and that I just want the Luke Cage progression. Ironically, with as difficult as this event is it will be a heck of a lot easier to get the Doom cover. I haven't even hit 20k points yet but I'm a stones throw from top 150. Difficulty/point ratio has been brutal lately.

Edit: Got another Hood today. Was not blue. They and the spoon are equally fictitious.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I actually have a blue hood somehow. I too wanted that Luke Cage cover, it's impossible! The points value are so small and the fights are tough I have 21k points and am at 129. I have a decent chance. I will need to start the season after this though.

I wish I could sell my profile. Especially if Blue Hood is that scarce. Do people still use him after the nerf?

Yeah xforce wolvie is a fucking juggernaut. I hate him and wish I had more covers to build him up better.

I logged in after not playing for a couple of weeks. Joined the earths mightiest PvP with an hour to go and got first place with 500 ish points. Purple fury and 1 of each color for Cage.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Yeah, x-force was the man for a while before I quit. I was too far behind the 8-ball to really catch up or struggle for 1300 in select events.

I still read the thread, but I don't miss the grind at all.

Well as long as you didn't sell off all your covers you can always play a few matches for fun now and again. That is where I think I'm headed. I definitely don't feel the pressure to get every cover anymore. I'd like to get a 3* torch out of the Deadpool event but I'll live if I don't.

This. I play when I feel like it though do try to play once a day to keep the daily counter ticking.

FYI, this worked for me again. I joined a Cage PvP shard with around 1.5 hours remaining and was able to place 4th with only 590 or so points.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I've never been as hardcore as others (1300 in a PVP seems crazy to me), but playing casually has been just fine. I'll basically play new storyline PVE when they come out as they're fun and interesting, and otherwise just do the seasons to reach the 10 pack. That's enough to have fun without feeling like it's completely grinding.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I didn't end up getting top 150 in either of the last two PvE nor did I get the Luke Cage progression. Seems like they fixed scaling for the Deadpool PvE though. Got the progression Doom cover and that was only good enough to get me a top 400 finish. I did get the 50 hp and 2500 iso nodes though.

Bagged my 13th cover for 3* Captain Marvel last night from a standard token earned in the lightning round! She is 5/5/3 which is where I want her for now. I love her red power even though many don't. It is the perfect answer for those smug protect tile dropping pricks.

EDIT: She is my 1st fully covered 3* character.

1300 in PVP is crazy for most people now that they changed the way shields work.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

There is basically a shield cooldown now. After you purchase a type of shield, you can't purchase it again for 8 hours.

So if you purchase a 3 hour shield you have to wait 8 hours before you can purchase another one (though you can purchase an 8 hour one, which has a separate cooldown). Before, people would shield, do a few quick matches, then shield again to gradually climb up the ladder without being jacked by opponents while unshielded. This isn't really possible now, at least not as frequently. They say they're going to rebalance the progression rewards but haven't yet. As that's the primary way outside of PvE to get 4* covers (unless you place 1st), it's now harder to get 4* covers... unless you already have X-Force and 4* Thor.

Ah cool, I didn't know that. Maybe that explains why PVP was easier for me last season. Good change, in my opinion.
