Magneto hasn't been nerfed yet, it's coming in the next couple days.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Magneto (Marvel NOW) - Coming 3/23/15

Our next character update is to Magneto (Marvel NOW). Magneto has been in the game since we launched and has been part of a lot of powerful combos in that time. Recently he’s been the key to an infinite-turn combo with Mystique, which we don’t think is a good thing to have in the game. As a result we decided to update his Purple ability: Polarity Shift to make infinite turn combos harder to achieve, while preserving the unique strategy of the power, carefully choosing a bunch of tiles to convert.

Polarity Shift - Old - Cost: 11 (9 at level 5)
Magneto uses the sheer force of magnetism to reconfigure the battlefield. Changes 3 selected basic color tiles to Blue.
Level 2 - Costs 1 AP less.
Level 3 - Changes 4 selected tiles.
Level 4 - Costs 1 AP less.
Level 5 - Changes 5 selected tiles.
MAX Level 5: Changes 5 selected tiles.

Polarity Shift - New - Cost: 9
Magneto uses the sheer force of magnetism to reconfigure the battlefield. Changes 1 selected basic color tile to Blue, and creates 3 Red tiles.
Level 2 - Changes 2 selected basic color tiles to Blue.
Level 3 - Creates 4 Red tiles.
Level 4 - Changes 3 selected basic color tiles to Blue, and creates 3 Red tiles.
Level 5 - Creates 5 Red tiles.
MAX Level 5: Changes 3 selected basic color tiles to Blue, and creates 5 Red tiles.

Changes to Magneto are slated to land in game on Monday 3/23.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

So basically my plan is to sell him if they offer decent HP and then rebuild him down the road.

That is also what I plan on doing. I think that if you make a second one with a few of the same color cover and level it moderatly, you can sell it for HP as well. That is probably a decent way to pick up some HP.

Shows how much I've been playing...

So they changed Rags immediately but not the rest?

Indeed Fuji-sama. I won my Black Widow purple while filing my income taxes! Got a decent return and my 3rd fully covered character at the same time! I had to use 2 shields but it was worth it. 5/3/5, gonna have to finish up the Deadpool daily to get enough iso to 166 her since I dumped some into DareDevil to help me get over.

After some digging, it looks like a level 22 MNMaggs will get you 50 HP. That is two of the same color fully leveled to 22. That is a pretty easy/cheap way to get HP. Just be sure to hoard tokens until the change goes into effect.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Man, the one week I wanted some good pulls with taco tokens (Blade, Patch, Steve Rogers) I get nothing. Oh well, I rad a nice run. It looks like there will be 2 more cycles for first covers, then on to the second covers for characters. I was going to use some HP to buy my 5th cap red cover but it should only be 2 months max until it goes to deadpool event (unless they switch it up and go 3rd cover instead of 2nd).
I'm in a nice slice for the season, I'm 144 overall with only 1133 pts. I didn't start with the SHIELD simulator either. If I really try I could get top 50 for a 2nd season 10 pack.

1317 points good for #1199 for me. I have never even once got a good season bracket. 5000 points and 3 heroic tokens every damned time. I bagged a 3* Blade green today, only power I was lacking for him. Got him 5/1/1 now. I've already sold three extra black covers for him. I sold every single Big Enchilada card this cycle, all maxed. Bummed I didn't get my red Steve Rogers.

What's the recommended build for Patch? He's my first and only maxed 3* and I have him at 3/5/5 by default and it looks like Deadpool grants another green. Should I be dropping one of the other colors?

I'm pretty sure 5g 5y 3r is the standard build.

I have him maxed, and I wouldn't recommend this one. I'd recommend 5y, 4r, 4g. Going from 4g to 5g, it adds more negative strike tiles which are harder to clear, so you get crushed if you can't clear them quickly enough. I like the R because it only gives one negative strike tile, but if you have 4 or 5, it does massive damage if the tiles on the screen are Wolvies. That's my preferred build out him, so YMMV. Always max out yellow if you can, because that allows him to recover more quickly and it's true recovery not just match specific recovery.

Cool, I take advantage of his healing quite a bit so I think i'll drop R one in favor of G, which I use a lot more in matches.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I play patch 5/3/5 but his green power is a grenade and you better know what you are gonna do before you pull the pin. I use him with LazyCap and try to have blue ready to go, I make sure the purples are all bunched so I can get rid of three of them right off the bat and I make sure that I have Patch make the next match or two so his true healing will mitigate the damage some. 5/3/5 Patch is hell on wheels powerful against douchebag goons. Once you trigger you can usually wipe them all out in 3 or 4 moves.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

If any of you guys are looking for a more competitive alliance, my alliance is top 25. Our only requirement is 700 PvP score. We use line to communicate and coordinate.

We have other groups as well:
PVP Minimums are as follows:

The Best - 900
The Best II - 800
The Best III - 650
The Best IV- 700
Hybrid Rainbow- 500

Hybrid Rainbow has a PVE requirement of half of the top score in the group.
Best 2 has a PVE requirement as well. All the other groups don't.

Let me know if you are interested.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I was working hard on the PvE in order to get the final green gray suit BW cover and I ended up getting the cover from a token right before i reached the 30K points i needed, haha.
I've been liking 3* iron man more for these wave matches. it gives him enough time to build up blue power and destroy waves.
I tried today (for the colossus cover) with Hulk, Falcon, Torch (my usual go to team for the DP wave challenge) and got destroyed since there was a green tile drought. I then tried Hulk, gray suit BW, 3* ironman and destroyed all the waves. hulk taking hits + BW purple power to build up greens; also ironmans yellow power helps. I would be able to do sniper rifle and then ironman blue and wipe out every other wave in a turn. I must have just been getting lucky with blue tiles, though, since that power takes a ton

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

My go to is patch wolvie, hulk and 3* Thor all maxed out. I also do red/yellow and green/black add boosts. Then I save up those green and usually do it on the 2 waves where the enemies can match. Usually works well. Occasionally will swap in hood for hulk when there are tile generating goons.

I'm interested, but I skipped a few events this season; I'll be up for next season, though.

Got my 4th cover for him today, 2/0/2. He is for sure one that I will max as soon as I can. I like his powers quite a bit and he fits my gameplay style well. D3 announced today that everybody gets 3 free Heroic tokens to compensate for the connection issues last week. We should all have them by tomorrow night.

Got my three tokens, I got a Daredevil red. I broke down and used some real $ and bought some HP to pick some covers I've been needing.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I bought some HP because of the sale. Thanks to Google Reward Surveys, it's basically free thanks to the credit i've gotten over the last few months.
