Holy crap 120,000 points to get a Beast cover in this event is brutal. I've got a cover already so I have a big advantage but I still don't think I will make it. Assinine!

That triple-Deadpool node? Fuck it in the eyehole.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I haven't started the new PvE yet, but the last one surprisingly didn't have any eye-gougingly frustrating nodes. Is that because it was a short one? They really know how to frustrate with some of these PvE combos.

It's three Deadpools and if you hit any of them too hard, the others jump in the way to take the damage and then heal. They cycle through the line each taking the damage for the other and then healing back up to almost full health.

So you have to chip away at them until you can deliver a death-blow all while denying them red and purple for their 65% and whale-drop coup de grāces.

Don't forget to make room on your team-up roster and take advantage of collecting lvl. 200+ Thor's on his solo node.

That Dinosaur and Mob (sniper, assault) node is a PIA too! Dino bites for over 2k and I think one of the Mob guys generate the Dino's green bite power! Man, PvE is becoming such a grind.

When using a high damage attack, you just need to make sure you are targeting the Deadpool with the highest health to avoid the Life of the Party problem.

Man, Beast is really bringing out the big guns in PvP. I was able to place first in the SheHulk tourney, but I'm getting absolutely rocked this time around.

I was. It was the strike tiles coupled with cascades and attack tiles that caused the rotations. I've since learned and beat them a few times.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Cascades for the enemy are getting out of hand too. I can match my three, then go start a load of laundry, wash my dishes and cook lunch and by the time I come back their turn is usually just finishing up. Commonplace to have at least one massive cascade with winning the lottery type odds against it being dumped on me per match.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Just had a dooozy dropped on me. Escaped only with Storm still alive with 250hp left and I only won because she unleashed an unholy hell of a raging tempest that took 5k points off Thor. It started with one of those mutie bastards detonating on me and even though Thor had nowhere near enough AP he hit all three of his powers on me at once. Such bullshit.

I had a Thor hit me with all his powers in one round once and then he did another Call of the Storm (after getting some cascades). needless to say, i died.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I swear the computer decides that you are doing too well for too long and that you need to be using health packs so it does what ever it takes to wipe you out regardless of whether it actually has the AP to fire its powers. I think its programmed to shit on us because there is absolutely no way it can consistantly get such wildly rare cascades.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

My afternoon PVE matches were absolutely devastated. My roster was decimated and I'm just waiting until the final hour to mess around again.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Managed to come in 85th and got a yellow Beast cover. I don't have a Daken classic, I think I had one and sold it because it sucked. I'm hobbled for this round. Hopefully I can tread water and still get a 3* Thor prize at the end. Might just give up and go for the Captain Marvels in the Real McCoy event though, grind out my heroic 10 pack so I have 10 more 2* covers to sell. Pulled a gold card today and was pumped until it came up daredevil.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Heroic 10 pack results:
Loki 3* purple
Human Torch 2* red
Cap 2* red
Hawkeye 2* blue
Magneto 2* blue
Storm 2* blue
Hawkeye 2* red
Hawkeye 2* red
Iron Man 3* yellow
Bullseye 2* black

Lot of grinding for very little reward. Only the Iron Man and Loki are really keepers. Unless you guys think with the coming changes that Hawkeye will all of a sudden not suck?

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Hawkeye definitely looks better to me, but I don't know if there's a spot for him in the lineup. At least not without his new passive purple.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Needing to match 5 to trigger it is going to make sure it stays passive most of the time though.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

That's not my experience. I don't know that I've had many matches where I didn't get an extra move. If nothing else, just pair him with some that lets you place tiles. That'll work with with MNMags or GSBW as their power needs purple anyway.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

His red being placeable now is a great (and much needed) change. Blue is weak, keep it at 3. And yes, partner him with MNMags and you should get at least 2 match-5's per game. Having said that, I'm probably still not going to invest ISO into him.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Hawkeye just kicked my behind in PVE a few times. Of course, once it was because he shot his blue and it exploded immediately, no countdown or anything. Now that's how you buff a character. Stinking cheating CPU.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I've had Thor call the storm on me twice consecutively when he didn't have the ap to do it even once. I've got a Sentry so I'm back in business in the pve, maybe I can bag another Thor 3* cover.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I had the computer hit literally six powers in a row... the first one actually killed my last guy but they kept going anyway, just to torment me. I am beginning to suspect that the computer liberally cheats using powers without ap (as opposed to just team ups without ap), but I haven't caught it in the act just yet.
