The one with two waves actually lets you bring in 1* characters, so I tackle it with 1* Iron Man and 2* Thor, both maxed and Thor championed. That's never been difficult. The one against 3* characters only lets you use 2*s and it's gotten quite a bit more challenging. I've probably lost on that node a dozen times in the last two weeks and am pretty sure I'd never lost on any of the regular nodes before that. I'm not sure if it's because I dropped to one 2* or I championed him and now it's throwing higher levels at me. Anyway, long way of saying it's easily doable, but you will occasionally burn some health packs.

I got a Red Hulk cover (my first) from a Heroic token, then a Totally Awesome Hulk from a legendary cover i got from champion daredevel (my only maxed 3*). then i spent 20 commander tokens and got a Prof X cover (my second).
this is the most action i've seen in this game in a while, haha

He's definitely usable with just yellow. Pulled a red a couple days after getting the yellow and I use him in pretty much every match now. Paired up with characters who have good powers that he tanks for, he's possibly the strongest character in the game.

Have been playing pve consistently enough that I figured I'd rejoin the dvdtalkers alliance for now. If someone could approve me, it'd be much appreciated.

He is far and away the best character in the game with pretty much anyone you use him with. He starts out striping all of the 4* characters at around 3-4 covers with a yellow cover. All of the 5* characters are infinitely better than any of the 4*. The 5* tier does nearly 2K damage per 3 jewel match when they are level 450. A match with the multi-color jewel will do about 5K damage. OML heals like 2K per turn with 2 alive teammates at max. The really boss team against high level PVE nodes is OML/4* deadpool with 5 black. Let OML take all of the big hits and you do tons of damage and end nearly every match with full health. I have a level 405 OML (speced 424) and I use him in literally every match. Once I had him above level 330, I have never run out of health packs. It's totally crazy.

The only problem I have with Championing is that they allowed 5* to be championed. The damage and health of any 5* at 550 (max champion level) is roughly double the damage and health at level 450 (which is a lot more powerful than the best 4*). If you want to see the craziest roster ever go the the alliance leaderboard for the last Black Vortex and look at the highest rated alliances. Click on the Crewsaders alliance name and look at KingDreadnaugt's rooster. He has a level 504 OML, a level 503 SS, a level 492 Phoenix and a 370 Red Hulk. His 5* are straight up god mode.

I'm stuck with just a red OML. Bah!! He's not useful for more than one round with just that cover since every time it activates he does damage to himself.

That has to be someone who figured out a way to cheat, right? I mean, that's over 150 5* covers. If you played 24 hours a day and only drew 5*s from legendary tokens, I still don't think it'd be possible.

Max you are approved , BTW.

As for cheating not necessarily. My buddy plays one of those mobile war games. In his clan there are people.who spend hundreds of dollars per month on the game. Certainly possible that they are paying to win.

KDN is a well known whale who has spent tens of thousands on the game. With the CP going to alliances with a stark salary purchase, people have started forming alliances called buy clubs where they all join the alliance and buy a stark or more and all get the bonus CP. One stark salary purchased in such a club was worth 5.6 Legendary tokens back with the clubs started. Now it is worth 7 of the classic legendary tokens. So, if a guy with more money spends $1K in such a club, they get 140 classic legendary tokens. That is how a guy like that has such a crazy roster.

I don't think I'd even enjoy playing if I figure out a way to just buy everything. Seems like that would suck the fun/compelling stuff right out of the game.

Anyway, anyone have any tips for the weekly Deadpool legendary? I've got a level 90, 2-black, 1-red Hulkbuster and am thinking there's no way to beat a level 270 Hulk with it, other than just lucking into a massive cascade of critical matches. I've tried around ten times and never chipped away more than a quarter of his health.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

The legendary deadpool things are more frustrating now. I didn't used to have any of the characters needed so I was like no big deal. Now I have many of them, but only with one cover. Frustrating to have ability to play but get waxed on those nodes.

You probably need 2-3 more red covers, minimum to win. You would want to deny black, red and green (in that order). Wait until you can cast black twice, then hit him with 30 red repulsor punch.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Got my Squirrel girl free token, it was an X23, my last legendary was a HB. While I always appreciate a 4*, I now have every 4* but Miles and Thing, the problem is 11 of them are 1 or 2 covers, and 7 are 3/4 covers so basically not usable except for essential nodes. My best covered is IW with 8 covers but she isn't good.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

The Championing has sucked me back into this way more than I intended. I'm up to 18 Champed 3*s, with 12 level-166 non-Champed 3*s and 10 at lower levels. I've been trying to juggle things and level up characters in time to not waste covers I've earned, but did have to sell a Daredevil this morning, as I could only afford to take him or Doc Ock up to max and champion them and both were expiring today. I'm guessing I'll be playing way too much for the next couple weeks and then will fade back into casual play once all my 3*s are championed and I've only got a handful of 4*s with enough covers to be usable.

I've been using Old Man Logan (with only 1 yellow) for a lot of the pvps. its a lot of fun; the not being killed constantly part. I just wish i could use Patch and OMLogan at the same time, haha. OMLogan ruins my duo of Patch and Daredevil (my only maxxed 3*s)

Used a legendary token from championing SW, pulled a yellow XFW, my only 5 cover 4* cover. Heartbreaking.
