I hate when all these events at the same time. I can't decide which to focus on.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

i put a lot of effort into the loki PvP event and finished at rank 23 so i get two Falcon covers. That was my goal. i got to rank 16 about an hour and half before the event ended and threw on a shield. I was getting really nervous near the end; it would have sucked to finish 26 and miss the purple cover.

What sucks even more is if you unshield to try to eke some more points out then get slapped back down. I get nervous whenever I'm over 600 and need to battle some more...

I got pushed out of top 25 with about 15 minutes to go. I decided to try my luck and popped my shield to come back in for 1 match, but luckily didn't get attacked. Ended up at 24th.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Got top 25 for the Loki PVP, and the two Falcon covers made him my first 3* that I have full covers for. Have been keeping my 3*s at max 104, so I'm not maxing him out for now. He wouldn't be powerful enough to offset getting bumped into tougher pools. It'd also cost about ~130k of the ~160k in ISO I've saved to max him.

I had a lucky day with random covers, pulling 3*s from both my Sim covers and a generic match one. Ended up adding to The Hood, Psylocke and lazy Thor.

Yea, I've had good luck with standard tokens this week. Pulled a Mohawk and Sentry.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I've had terrible luck with standard and heroic tokens this week. no 3*s

so if you raise a 3* above 104, that bumps you into a pool of higher level opponents?

Not really. Your MMR (Match Making Ranking?) is what puts you into a harder pool.

How is MMR calculated?

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Screw this PvE on hard. My Torch keeps dying. And that accursed Spidey/Venom/Goon match is way harder than I'd have expected it to be.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

It is because Goon is granted free AP every turn, regardless of matches.

I don't even have a Torch so my options are limited in it.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

Venom gets unlimited Devours from the goon's generated AP.
I got the Sentry cover so i doubt i'll work on the PvE anymore. I'd rather use my health packs on the Falcon PvP event

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I've had awful luck getting covers for the past 2-3 weeks. I can't remember the last time I got a good 3-star cover from a token.

Today I finally got my Heroic 10-pack and it was all useless 2-star covers (except for an X-Force Wolverine which is practically useless).

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I finally got a 3* Spidey today from a Heroic. I should get my 10 pack tonight, hoping its not worthless. It sure does seem like either drop rates for 2* is up and 3* down... or something.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I was thinking of keeping my 10 pack (if I get there) and other non-event specific rewards until they put 2* torch in the regular rewards. Or is that going to take a really long time?

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

2* Torch should be available in packs once the current PvE event ends.

I thought the reward packs/covers have a built in date so that you couldn't get a hero's cover if it was released after the reward's date (or something like this)? Or is that only for the rewards for the individual events?

I'd think they'd wait longer than that. What's the point of making it a top reward if it's available right after, especially since he'll be boosted/essential in the next PvE?

Got an Invisible Woman, 3* Thor, and Punisher in my 10 pack. Everything else useless. Better then nothing, I suppose.

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I'm pretty surprised how much things can swing at the end of a season. I was 48 for S3 yesterday morning and thought I had a chance at getting top 50, but ended up dropping to 87. I was only able to get 613 points in the Ragnarok event due to constant attacks, but did pretty well in the simulator portion. I guess people must get clustered pretty close together where a small comparative point change can drop a lot of ranks. Anyway, got a 3* Thor cover and a bunch of useless 2*s from my S3 reward tokens, but picked up an Iron Man 3* from the last event and a 2* Human Torch from one of the PVE tokens.

I'm getting pretty close to transitioning to a 3* team, but am not sure where I'll want to go. I've been playing around with 3* characters in PVE, but don't like any of them as much as 2* teams of Thor/OBW/Daken or Magneto/Storm/Wolverine. Anyone who's moved to 3* want to give input on what I should be holding out for/concentrating on from the below? All of them are currently over level 100.

Falcon - 5/5/3
Punisher - 5/3/2
Thor - 5/2/3
Black Panther - 2/5/1
Captain America - 2/4/2
Daredevil - 4/2/2
Doctor Doom - 4/3
Iron Man - 2/4/2
Magneto - 3/3/2
The Hood - 3/3/2

Re: Marvel Puzzle Quest: Dark Reign

I like Falcon a lot. I team him up with 3* torch most of the time, but he's also pretty good with 2* thor or ares or 2* wolverine. His power to destroy other teams special tiles is great when you're fighting a team that relies on count downs to do most of their damage.

I didnt bother trying for 2* torch in that one event since i have a pretty good 3* version so I was also annoyed to see that he was needed for the current pve event.
I finished the Rags Pvp event in the top 25 so i got a couple 3* iron man covers i needed. Of the 5 heroic tokens i got this morning, only one I could use (sentry) and two of them were Bagmans
