It's really different from Monument Valley. Not really a puzzle game at all. But a really special "game" in its own right. Quite an experience, even if it's not at all challenging. I'm up for another trip.

I thought it was a snoozefest, and I'm typically up for unique/artsy experiences like Journey.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I picked up Killzone Shadow Fall from the library, and man, is that game boring. Very pretty, but very boring. I was looking at the trophy list and can now see why only about 25% of the people actually finished the game. I only have 2 chapters left, so I'll at least finish it, but it has been a huge disappointment.

Played Rocket League this afternoon with some Warframe friends, and god damn that game is fun.

Yes, I thought Styx would be the stand out for this months releases, but I wouldn't know as all I really want to play when the PS4 is on, is Rocket League.

I haven't played much online, but even doing split-screen with my boys has been great!

Agreed. It's so simple yet I just don't want to stop playing.

My son and I started throwing stuff trying to mess each other up.

3 years after launch, Sony is releasing a media remote for the PS4. Amazon is showing a 10/31 release. Gamestop lists 10/15.

Amazon Pre-Order

Is there any official news source for this? Store listings are hardly official.

Also, that link goes to what looks like a third party remote. It says it is made by PDP. I never heard of them, but they have other accessories for sale including Xbox accessories. So I'm pretty sure this is just a third party remote and not an actual first party remote by Sony. Third party accessories are generally pretty low quality. As much as I would love a media remote for the PS4, I would never trust a third party remote.

Officially licensed by Sony

Complete control of all PS4 media playback via Bluetooth
Easily control up to 4 devices
Dedicated buttons for PS4 Home and Power
Good enough for me. Finally.

It says officially LICENSED by Sony. That's a big big difference from Sony actually making this remote themselves.

This is a third party remote. Even a third party accessory has to be licensed by Sony. You can't just release an unlicensed accessory without permission. Sony will hit you hard if you do something like that.

There are already other third party remotes. You can find them on Amazon, and they all have very low user ratings because like I said before, third party accessories are generally really crappy.

Just give Harmony the codes. Wait, this will have some kind of dumb IR dongle that I'll have to buy the remote for, won't it. Why can't you just get bluetooth remotes working, Sony???

I'm pretty sure there are tons of unlicensed accessories for every console ever made. if you don't see the Playstation logo anywhere on the box or product (like this one for example: http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-Me...ation+4+remote) then it's not licensed.

Also, this one is Bluetooth, which there aren't any others, and that means you can actually turn the PS4 on with it. The design is also very similar to the PS3 remote.

Oh crap, it is bluetooth? Cool. Hopefully Harmony can just crib the codes (kinda odd though, even when the Harmony does connect to the PS4, there's no way to turn it on, so I wonder if there's some kind of update the PS4 needs)

Okay, but it is still a third party remote and not first party. I wouldn't trust it. Third party accessories just have too poor of a reputation of being very low quality.

Not to be too nit-picky, but hasn't it only been 2 years since launch?

I personally have never watched a Blu-ray or DVD on my PS4, but this will be nice to have if I just want to watch some Netflix or something. I imagine my PS3 will remain my primary media player though.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Anyone interested IGN has a pretty good and long review of the God of War III re-mastered version for the PS4. They gave it a 8.8 with the crutch of the story being a con but gameplay, extras and visuals are the highlight.......

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

In the video clips, going back and forth, GoW3 remastered looks exactly the same to me as it did on the PS3 - maybe better frame-rate. Hardly worth the $40 "upgrade". I think this is why they didn't even try backwards-compatibility, so they can re-sell us shit we already own.

Crazy that they didn't even bother to re-render the old cutscenes, which are still 720p.

They didn't do that for the PS3 remasters of the PS2 games either.
