re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Yeah, I upgraded my hard drive a few months ago and had to redownload everything, individually. For the PS4, not a big problem because there's not that much yet, but if it ever becomes like my PS3 download queue...

Can't you backup & restore now?

You can now back up data stored on a PS4™ system to a USB storage device. Select Settings (Settings) > [System] > [Back Up and Restore].

Confirmed on the official PlayStation blog -- the Ratchet and Clank movie's been delayed to April 29th, 2016, and the PS4 game is slated for a Spring 2016 release.

Well...

Edit: Can't complain too much. Didn't even play Into the Nexus. Would almost rather have a Tools/Booty/Crack/Nexus port this year.

OK, the PS3 just connected for me. Hopefully the PS4 won't be too far behind.

The servers were probably overwhelmed with people rushing to buy Krinkle Krusher at 60% off in the Flash Sale.

I take it back. PS3 connection was just a phantom one. Destiny and GTA still wouldn't work. Store wouldn't work.

Well, there goes my daily streak in GTA on PS3. Fucking Impromptu race that nobody will agree to do with you.

I don't know when it started for me, but it was still downloading for me when I got on around an hour ago.

My PS3 seems to be online now, connecting to GTA.

My PS4 is back up as well, on Destiny now.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Question,

My PSN sbscription expires next month on the 19th.

I've only had my PS4 for a little more than 1 year, so I'm not sure about many details of this subscription. But, are there any sites that offer a discount for a 1 year PSN subscription similar to XBox Live? Or are PS4 owners shit out of luck and have to cough up the full $50?

I'd like to keep the games I downloaded and $50 isn't that much for 1 year, but if there are discounts out there, I'd love to know about it.

You won't lose your games - you keep the games even if your subscription lapses. You just can't play them while your subscription is up. Once you renew, you can play them all again.

There aren't many deals around - nothing like Live (though remember that PS Plus is $10 cheaper per year and gives at least double the number of games). I got in on a nice Black Friday 2013 deal and got several years for $30 each. Never seen a deal like that again. Can't even remember the last $40 price. Sometimes PSN has deals with $50 or $100 purchases through the store and the PS Plus subscription counts for those.

Anyone who plays games should join cheapassgamer. I've gotten multiple years of PS+ for $30-35 a year and I regularly get PSN codes from traders there for 20% off.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

anyone know how to get rid of the "Discover" notifications? They aren't listed in the notification settings. Every time the "Discover" about power options comes up, I mark it as read in my notifications. A few days later, I turn on my PS4 and that notification pops right back up.

That's pretty much your PS4 telling you it doesn't want to be turned off, but only ever put in standby. I'm sure they'll patch that soon enough.

Some pretty good deals on the PS Store right now. Two of us are getting dying Light (I already bought mine thru Amazon) and the ultimate Edition W/Season pass is $55.00 down from $80.00.

Does anyone use HDMI-CEC to control their PS4 with their TV remote? How well does that work?

I've tried with my Sony XBR TV, It hasn't been as nice as I'd hope, (can't seem to use the play/stop/ff controls). I haven't really had time to try to fine tune though. I know others have used it without issue.
