They're doing maintenance from 9-11 Pacific.

I was in Destiny and it froze, came back and couldn't connect to the servers, and now I can't connect to PSN.

Yep, PSN down across the board. PS3, PS4, Vita, and the web.

OK, looks like things are getting back to normal. I just signed on to my PS4, and made it into Destiny.

This isn't good.

If You Got The New PS4 Update, Don't Use Rest Mode

I've put mine in rest mode a couple times since the update, but thankfully everything still seems to be working without a hitch.

Thanks for the heads up. I use standby all the time. Haven't updated yet though.

I was going to ask here, has anyone had it come out of rest mode successfully? Because I always need to unplug it. Stupid update.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Mine came out of off mode and had to have the system checked. I had to actually turn the system on twice to get it to do that. It worked fine after the check but we shouldn't have to nor do I want to deal with that shit. Fix it Sony!

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I turn my PS4 off every time and when I powered it on today I got a blue, wavy screen that wouldn't do anything. I couldn't even power it down by holding the power button. I had to pull the plug on it to get it to reboot and then it had to do the data/system check before it would reboot. They better get this shit fixed before it bricks a bunch of launch consoles just after the one year warranty expires. If their update tanks our systems and they don't offer to fix it then I might be done with this crap.

Why the hell do automatic updates still not actually work?

I just went through my library, and manually checked for updates on everything. 15 of them had updates. Ugh.

Is it too much to ask for EVERYTHING to be kept up to date? I thought that was the whole point of automatic updates.

It automatically downloads them, saving you that step at least.

Personally I wouldn't want an auto update run without me knowing. An update could crash the system without you knowing what the fuck happened.

No, it doesn't, that's my point. I had to manually download 15 game updates. Some games it updates, but I want them all updated. One of the most annoying things on the Ps3 was starting a game up only to discover that an update needed to be downloaded, and you had to wait...and wait.

It's the same thing on the PS4. It only updates the most recently played titles. I want everything kept up to date.

I finally got to try Share Play. Played some Diablo III with my best friend. It worked really well, seamlessly. I'm pretty impressed.

Also our voice chat was by far the clearest it's ever been. Was that somehow a function of 2.0 as well?

I'm not a fighting game guy, but the story mode in Injustice is fantastic.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I bought Injustice Ultimate when it was previously on sale for $8.40 so I don't feel so bad about it being free now.

Good news on First Light and Swapper!

At least we are not getting some crappy 8-bit Viking game.

The Swapper is FANTASTIC. It's a portal-like puzzle game. It got me stumped good a few times. Creepy and atmospheric as well. And a triple-cross-buy title (though much easier to play on the PS4 than the Vita).
I also own Injustice (also bought it on sale for cheap). Great game. Glad I waited on that inFamous stand-alone DLC.

I guess they announced the Dec/Jan games hella early as a sort of appology for the #driveclub #clusterfuck.

Sneak Peek at PS4 Plus Lineup for Dec-Jan

+ Posted by Matthew Harper on Nov 04, 2014 // Sr. Manager, PlayStation Digital Platforms

Hey PS Plus fans — we wanted to give you a sneak peek at our December and January PS4 free games lineup for Plus.

Before we reveal our PS4 lineup, we understand many of you are waiting for DRIVECLUB PS Plus Edition to be added to the Instant Game Collection, and we apologize that the game is not yet ready to launch. We want you to know that we’re committed to providing DRIVECLUB PS Plus Edition to members when it’s ready, and the Evolution team is working hard to make it a reality. In the meantime, we want to make sure you still have some amazing free games to play throughout the holidays, so check out the great lineup we have in store for you guys!

In December, we’re excited to add Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition and Secret Ponchos to PS4’s IGC lineup. As one of the biggest fighting games, Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition is the first AAA Blu-ray title to join the Instant Game Collection for PS4, and we think you’ll really enjoy playing it since DRIVECLUB PS Plus Edition is not available yet. For January’s PS4 lineup, we’re adding the hit games inFAMOUS First Light and The Swapper for PS4.

We hope you’ll enjoy this new lineup for PS4 over the holidays. Which one are you looking forward to most?

------------------------
It's a super-early announcement considering they didn't officially announce the November games until this morning!

Looks like Sony put a quick fix out for Rest Mode issues that some have been having.

I just got 2.01 pushed to my PS4.
