You’re Invited: PlayStation Experience Event in December
+ Posted by Sid Shuman on Oct 10, 2014 // Senior Manager, Social Media

Here we go! I’m happy to announce our very first PlayStation Experience, a massive two-day community event dedicated to the people who bring PlayStation to life: you! We’ve been planning this bad boy for some time… and with PlayStation’s 20-year anniversary just around the corner, the timing couldn’t be more perfect.
Prepare for two intense days of PlayStation gaming, content, and activities. Attendees will sit in on in-depth panels, meet the industry’s best developers, score hands-on gameplay with tons of upcoming PlayStation games, collect free swag, and get a chance to purchase rare collectibles directly from their favorite game studios. Attendees will also get an exclusive first look at what’s coming next in 2015, which I am told you will not want to miss.
The two-day community event will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 6th and 7th, 2014. And stay tuned for October 20th, when we release details on how you can be part of this legendary event; the one-day pass will cost $50.00, with the two-day pass going for $90. The venue is huge, too, so we’ll have plenty of room and plenty of games. Bring your friends and family (if they are 18 and over)!
If you can’t make it to PlayStation Experience in person (we’ll miss you!), don’t worry. Per usual, PlayStation.Blog will be offering comprehensive coverage of the event, including breaking news as well as live video through multiple distribution channels. Stay tuned for further details on the event, programming information and much more.

Resolution-Gate Is Here To Stay, Dragon: Age Inquisition Runs at 1080p on PS4, 900p on Xbox One
Following all those #PS4NoParity controversy, Bioware has announced resolution and FPS figure at which the next installment in Dragon Age franchise will run on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Dragon Age: Inquisition will run at 1080p on PlayStation 4 and at 900p on Xbox One.
When asked to specify the reason behind why there is difference in resolution between the two versions, Bioware clarified that development wanted to use the current potentioal of each platforms. So means not those silly "Parity, Avoid Debates" excuses here, thumbs up to Bioware.
"Confirmed: #DAI resolution is 1080p on PS4, and 900p on Xbox One. We maximized the current potential of each platform." read a tweet from Bioware.

...and I still get asked why I left Xbox and went with PS4...

Anything you've ever downloaded with PS+ will be available to you again if you resubscribed. I lapsed for ~ 2 years and all of my PS3 games were back.

Is this next-gen gaming?
Saturday afternoon, after a nice long run, I sit down for some PS4 gaming, first time in almost two weeks.
turns out I needed to update some games before I could play them. Fine, but then I had to sit through this screen for more than 5 minutes (this does not including waiting for updates to download).

Then, just getting out of the PS store, I waited on this screen for about 10 minutes before just shutting the thing off and going outside.

Seriously, what the fuck? It's like each generation of gaming is more reliant on downloads and updates, all the while, the internet infrastructure, both mine and their's, has been updated or gotten any faster over the last 5 years. If they're forcing us to do so much shit online, shouldn't they at least improve their end of things? It's getting more and more frustrating.

Reminder that PSN is down for scheduled maintenance until 5 PM Pacific / 8 PM Eastern. I would argue that it's dumb to do this on what's a holiday for a bunch of people, but whatever.

I'm experiencing the PS4 eject bug lately.
I would put in the disc and after about 15 or 20 minutes of play, the console spits out the disc and makes a constant eject noise. Has anyone experienced this bug?
I read a quick fix of turning the console off and then unplugging it, but I did that and it happened again.

There were lots of reports about the launch of NBA 2K, people not being able to download their digital copies, people stuck in endless loops playing as the Spurs vs. Heat while the game took forever to install, and then, of course, the 2K servers being messed up, messing up the game because almost every feature is online-only. So yeah, this is next gen gaming.
As is, my new habit is to get home, turn on the system, put the new game in, then go play with the kids for a few hours and hope it's done by the time I'm ready to play.

I was considering picking it up, but couldn't quite pull the trigger on it. Was going back and forth between picking that up or Peggle 2, but didn't get either one yet. Only thing I bothered to pick up was the new pinball tables.
