The nuttiest thing is the hacker groups made a bomb "threat: on a plane a higher up in Sony was on.

This shit is really pissing me off and in instances like this one could hope for a public beating. Taking down a gaming network is one thing, but causing an airliner to be diverted due to a bomb threat because you hate a particular company is an entirely different story.

I think the PS3 is online but not the PS4. Is that possible?

Supposedly, PS3 and Vita were barely affected. I didn't really check, because I just wanted to play Warframe.

I did disconnect the online and play some Fez and Hotline Miami on PS4 though.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

The two people/groups taking credit are FamedGod and Lizard Squad, and they've been going back and forth about it. Lizard Squad are the ones who tweeted the bomb threat on the SOE president's airplane and got it diverted. They also put up a bunch of pro-ISIS stuff, so it got really weird. Their twitter is worth a look, just to see how things progressed yesterday.

As to the skill level required to do this sort of thing, it's reportedly pretty low, but I'm no expert.

My thoughts on how to get rid of these "Dic#less Idiots"....if only a 1/10th of all PS4 owners put in $1...that's it, just $1 for a Bounty on these hackers I'll bet within in days they would caught. Second...post their picture on both XBL and PSN. They pissed a lot of people off and they'll be looking over their shoulder for the rest of their life no matter where they go.

If it's really Lizard Squad, their bomb threat to an airliner is a much bigger problem the DDoS on Sony, Battlenet, MS, Eve, etc.

Could be some real jail time in a federal pound me in the ass prison for that little stunt.

PSN Back Online After DDoS Attack, Regular Scheduled Maintenance For Aug 25 Delayed, "We sincerely apologize": Sony

http://www.gamepur.com/news/15960-ps...ce-aug-25.html

"The PlayStation Network and Sony Entertainment Network are back online and people can now enjoy the services on their PlayStation devices. The networks were taken offline due to a distributed denial of service attack. We have seen no evidence of any intrusion to the network and no evidence of any unauthorized access to users’ personal information."

In addition to this, Sony has delayed the official scheduled maintenance of PSN which was planned for Monday, August 25. No new date was provided but Sony promised update on it soon.

The hackers delayed the scheduled maintenance. Now they'll be heroes to everyone who is off on a Monday.

the last thing most people with an online presence want to do is to piss of hackers, regardless of how few dicks they have.

Just a quick question for those that upgraded their hard drives: What was taking up the most space on your drive that made you want to upgrade? I don't plan on putting videos or music on mine so I was just curious if it was worth the upgrade.
