I'm sorry, I still don't get why I'm supposed to be excited by that. It looks more like a tech demo than a game and just because it has a huge map doesn't mean it'll be fun to play. That trailer does nothing for me.

^^ It has a "Star Fox" feel to it but I think it has massive potential. I just couldn't figure out what the gameplay really was supposed to be.

I will agree with you. When the video was released last year, people were all amazed by it. I didn't get it. Now I see this on PS4, people are still amazed by it, and I still don't get it. I mean, the concept is cool looking, but I don't think it looks all that spectacular graphics-wise.

I think it looks gorgeous, and going from land to space and being in a space battle seamlessly seems awesome to me.
Although i'm pretty sure this is also just a timed exclusive, as well as coming to PC.

I cross posted this with TV talk, but this is cool news for PSN users. New original entertainment content.
Originally was developed by FX and a pilot was shot, but they apparently passed on it.

Brian Michael Bendis, acclaimed writer and creator of the comic "Powers," revealed new details about the upcoming TV series adaptation of "Powers" last night.
Appearing as part of Sony's E3 media briefing, Bendis confirmed that the first season of the original series will be available for free to all U.S. PlayStation Plus subscribers in December. PSN members not subscribing to 'Plus' will have free access to the premiere.
In development for some time, the ambitious drama series will be the gaming consoles first big original content series exclusive. The story follows a detective who investigates cases that involve people with super powers.
Bendis serves as executive producer on the series.

No Man's Sky actually reminds me of a blend of Mass Effect 1 & Homeworld but far more colorful. I could see this something special for the VR Morpheus.
That said not every game needs to have "Jaw dropping graphics". If the gaming community starts down that path then it's basically a message to all Indies and smaller DEVs...Need Not Apply & Develop... unless you can hang with the Big Boys. Sony did well last night by covering all types of games for everyone.

Two franchises that have my interest today that didn't on their last outings:
Far Cry 4 looks amazing and ridiculously fun. Ubisoft is really killing it right now.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but Call of Duty looked kind of amazing. The double jump seems to add a lot and some of the UI functionality (loved the grenade toggle) looked almost innovative.

Right on Bro!

Agree and it'll be interesting about the ability to buzz a PSN who doesn't have the game and have them to play co-op right beside you. Hats off to Sony & ubisoft on that.
I also like Bloodborne...need to hear more details but it looked good...and mysterious.
Good news to my ears..The Last of Us out July29th. I now can use my $25.00 Best Buy cert for it. Been nice to have it out a little sooner.
...and I'll add another that was missing or some word on...God of War. Coming from the 360 I was glad to see a Halo Collection and it's a must for anyone getting a XO and relly hasn't played the series. I wouldn't have mind seeing a God of War one for the PS4...the game looked fun on the PS3

It's a good mix of an FPS with an open world game. Your main story missions are mainly traditional FPS missions and your side story missions are more like what you would do in Watch Dogs or GTA. And of course you can go hunting and all of that fun stuff.

I haven't heard anything about external drives, but swaps are super easy.
FWIW, I find that the way the "Library" works in the UI, I don't bat an eye at deleting a game. [b] The icon for the game simply stays in your library with a download button. [\b]So I haven't had any hard drive space concerns yet.
But if you feel the need to keep all of your games on your hard drive, you'll run out pretty quick.

I have PS Plus and use the cloud for my game saves. If I swap out the HDD then the only thing I need to worry about is re-downloading game updates and digital games?
I may just wait till the default drive is full before buying a new drive. Unless there is a compelling reason do replace it right away?

Yes, but most disk-based games load up pretty quick, and most are playable as they load to the HD, so it's not a big deal to delete them either.
Yeah, all of that sounds right, and that's what I'd recommend. Keeping the "fridge clean" hasn't really been an issue for me at all.

After seeing the trailer for that animated day of the dead movie I couldn't help but think it was a great time for a Grim Fandango re-release, guess they agreed

I know you all hate me in here but I have 2 extra PSNow PS4 beta codes to give out. I know someone in here was bitching recently about not getting one. Hit me up with a PM and I'll send them off if you want it.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong
I replaced my hard drive about 2 weeks ago and just got an email from my internet provider saying I went over their monthly gb "cap" for internet use for the first time. Coincidence?
I just checked my internet usage and on the day that I swapped the new drive in and re-installed everything including patches and downloads of specific games I used 55 gbs on that day alone. This is why I'm not too thrilled about these huge patches and downloading titles instead of having them disc based. If cable companies or net providers are going to try and throttle us by using the internet then we are the ones that are going to be paying the higher price for digital content in the end.
