Honestly, I don't think it's a big deal at all. Yeah I get slop's point, but to me it just looked more cinematic.
In any case I'll just repeat the Xbox One owners' mantra : "It's the gameplay that counts".

Ah, see, but that assumes videogames to be art. And I maintain that while games certainly have elements of art in them, the fact that they are games to be played keeps them from being art. Is chess art? A chess set can be art. There's certainly an art to the way some people play chess. But is the game itself art? No. Same with videogames.

You said yourself that cutscenes were framed for a reason. Are they art and the gameplay not?

Nope. Burden of proof falls on you. Prove it and show your work. Keep in mind, as I said, just because something has elements of art doesn't automatically make the whole thing art. Is your Dodge Ram-Van art just because you have a boss air-brush of a unicorn on it?

So playing music from a songbook... that's not art?

Whether video games are art seems irrelevant to the discussion, as you could replace artist/art with trusting whatever the designers want to present as far as this game goes since it's obvious that was the intent. Or not. I don't know.
But I guess everyone can rehash the arguments in this thread - http://forum.dvdtalk.com/video-game-...never-art.html
I don't think you'll be able to get people to agree on a definition of art to convincingly argue one way or another or change any minds.

Nah. It's a pointless argument because we clearly differ on the very definition of "art." Your position is quickly becoming an antiquated one, but feel free to continue shaking your fist at the clouds.

This is only a rumor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Collection appears to have surfaced on the Xbox One sub-Reddit, along with a November 25 release date.

What about games where you create games within it? Wouldn't that be art?
The game design is art, but the actual gameplay probably isn't art. But then again, the way someone plays a game can be seen as very skilled, and thus an artist of sorts. It's all very confusing, but a good portion of those people in credits of video games are artists.

Video Gameplay can actually be characterized as an "experiencing the art, design, story, imagination, and music" of a "Video Game" created by several individuals in a visual, emotional, hands on engaging manner....
The definition of "Art" can be almost anything...determined by the creator and those who see, hear, or touch it. No different than the term "Artist"...be it a musican, painter, sculptor, actor, craftsman, etc...But with Video Games you need characters....both to play as, part of the story, extras all of which "has to be created and brought to life". You also need surroundings and landscape be it towns, countrside, off worlds, buildings, cities, either in realistic detail or just cell shaded cartoons...it to has to be created. The soundtrack, the story, the voice acting....all of which has to be created and then put together in a nice little package for us to experience it...

The "art" discussion needs its own thread... Im certain one already exists.

Would someone please recommend a hdd that you have bought to replace your original PS4 hdd? I am now getting to the point where it is time to get a bigger one. And yes, in this case, bigger is better.

Cannot help on the HD specific but have seen a few stories where the HD was repaced with "a better one". I do recall somewhere they did put in a SSD and compared. I would assume some PC Tech sites with HD reviews and stats would be ideal like PC Mag, Tech Radar, Tom's hardware and PC World.
Speaking of Tom's Hardware site they actually have a good story up....
SSD Or Hard Drive? Upgrading Your PlayStation 4's Storage...http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...rade,3695.html
Sony's PlayStation 4 features an easy-to-replace 2.5-inch notebook drive. We open the console up and swap its stock disk with an SSD, a hybrid drive, and an old hard drive to see if a storage upgrade might help unlock some additional performance.

I went ahead and got a 1TB Seagate hdd for about 76 plus tax. I wanted a 2TB drive but it would have to be ordered and I would rather not wait nor pay over a hundred for the drive.

Why oh why will the PS4 not allow you to backup all of your game saves at once to an external drive? I have to select each title and then each file to save them and you can only do one game at a time. What a waste of time this drive swapping is. Just give me an option to backup all game saves so I can get it done while doing other stuff rather than babysitting this process. Argh! Also, why is every game save at least 11mb in size? Do they really need to be that big?

I received a PS4 beta code, for the Playstation Now service. I don't have a PS4. Too lazy to read the terms. Can I share the code with you?
