Re: Watch Dogs
i'm towards the end of act 2.
the game has gotten pretty hard. most missions are taking me 1-2 hours to complete due to all the deaths and waiting for the reload. very annoying. |
Re: Watch Dogs
Loading times are really bad.
Playing in the Xbox One, I just pause the game and turn off the console. So next time I play I don't have to go through the loading screens. |
Re: Watch Dogs
Just a note..patch today made the drinking game super easy. I never even tried them before because I knew I would get frustrated...today I did all 30 drinking games first time each time...super easy.

Re: Watch Dogs
Think I'm taking a break from this game. I'm a the end of Act 2 and the game just isn't holding my interests anymore. There is definitely a good framework here for something great, but they didn't stick the landing by any means.

Re: Watch Dogs
6 more missions and I'm done. It's a big chore now. But I want to finish before Destiny.

Re: Watch Dogs
I finally wrapped this up last night, including 100% of the achievements. I had already finished everything else before the end of act 3 because the story missions were the dullest part for me. A good game with a lot of interesting ideas, but definitely not a great game.

Re: Watch Dogs
Finally finished the story. Really bad story LOL!
But yeah, other than the main story the game is a lot of fun. |
Re: Watch Dogs
I'm surprised at the amount of comments on it being a really bad story...I thought it was well done and definitely some of the best voice acting I've heard in a game.
Yes, the gameplay got a bit repetitive in Act II and only some of Act III but there was a lot of great stuff thrown in there as well. The last mission may seem beyond chaotic at first but once you find the "Secret" on where to go, it's not that bad. This def an xone and ps4 only buy though....the 360 version was so bad - they actually left out gameplay direction/instruction and the visuals were horrid. Yes, the game has a long way to go with the horrendous vehicle sound effects, the old school PS2 collision effects, etc... but there was still a lot to like here as well. Looking forward to the next installment. |
Re: Watch Dogs
I just finished the story, the gang hideouts and the convoys but damn these fixer contracts suck. They are ridiculous....pretty much think I'm done
|
Re: Watch Dogs
Not that anyone was waiting for it with bated breath or anything, but the Wii U version is finally out as of today.
|
Re: Watch Dogs
I just started playing this at the beginning of the week, and having a hard time getting in to it. So far the hacking stuff just isn't doing it for me and for some reason the basic controls are annoying me. I'm hoping it picks up or gets better as I unlock more skills, as for the most part it just makes me feel like i'd rather play GTA :p Also, the graphics do seem underwhelming, given all the controversy around it.

Re: Watch Dogs
I just finished this up this week. It was pretty good. I would say stick with it...it gets better. It does kinda wear out its welcome but I'm glad I played it through to the end. Its a good start to a series if Ubisoft wants to build on it.

Re: Watch Dogs
What Barth said.
It starts slow, then it's a lot of fun, then you get bored of doing the same all the time. The main story is not that good too. |
Re: Watch Dogs
Glad to hear it gets better.
|
Re: Watch Dogs
I just beat it Friday as well as the DLC. It's an ok game by nothing too impressive. The dialog and motion of how the players move is ridiculous...in a bad way
|
Re: Watch Dogs
The game is picking up a bit for me now that i'm on Act 2; Clara seems cool. I'm not finding much interest in all the side missions that come up though; is there any importance to doing those? Or just for experience to level up more skills?
|
For the main story? No. Just to level up, and of course the game gets "easier" if you level up.

Re: Watch Dogs
I honestly want to ask most of you, regardless of gameplay and visiuals....do you thing the stroyline was twice as good as GTA V's?
Seriously let it sink in before you laugh or disregard it, the voice acting (in watchdogs), the setups to the more mature themes Spoiler:
I mainly ask this because obviously you're thinking "GTA clone" when playing any other sandbox game and if watchdogs had the visuals and other detail that comes with a GTA title...it would have most definitely been the better game. |

Re: Watch Dogs
That's why I was curious, the voice acting in GTA V is horrid - the jackass who plays Trevor just sounds so generic and beyond annoying. The dude who voices Franklin has to be the most boring person you could ever meet in real life.
It's just interesting to me to see how many people really like all the elements in GTA V whereas I can't stand any of them (aside from the beautiful world of course) - I dislike so much about it. When I pop in watchdogs, it's all there except the gorgeous world and detail (but I still do like some of the elements scattered throughout). Anyway, I also forgot to mention that I just recently played Watchdogs again so that's what prompted me to ask along with what I mentioned previously. |

No, not even close. The writing, dialog, characters, acting, themes, commentary and overall story for GTAV crushes Watchdogs like a grape.
And I don't see Watchdogs as a GTA clone. |

Re: Watch Dogs
I just started Act IV. Any idea how much longer the main story is? Trying to finish it today.
As for the comparison to GTA, I actually like the story in this game better although the set up and intro could have been better presented. GTA has always had the polish, but I honestly haven't been super enthralled in a GTA game since Vice City. Of course, I think I just like the setting and idea of Watch Dogs more then the actual overall gameplay. |
Re: Watch Dogs
Welp, scratch that. Finished it now. Took awhile to get going, and I didn't care enough to do all the side missions and collectibles at all, but the main story was decently entertaining if not a little convoluted at the end.
Spoiler:
Biggest annoyance in this game was checkpoints that make you watch portions of the dialog or in game cinematic over and over again. Blah. |
