Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
The prizes/etc. shut down on time today, but I was annoyed that the daily challenge was still to tap justice agents and when I did tap on them the counter didn't go down. Fortunately they've now replaced that task.
I guess now I can put my thieves on some of the tasks that have been stacking up.
And yes, I am still playing even though I have to download 1.4 GB every other time I try to play.

We just started playing. Pretty fun and not NEAR as demanding as some other daily games I've played. Feel free to add three of us from our family:

Requests sent! Though I was surprised to also find a Sagerhero1. Having friends helps build resources when you're just starting out.
And I'm still downloading huge updates, but the last couple times haven't had to sign in, which is a significant improvement if it sticks.

Classic episode - who shot Mr. Burns! Seems like EA is doing constant events with lots of donut purchases.
For those of you that still are playing and are doing the Kwik-E-Mart farming, the best thing to do is to find a large open plot and place all of them in a square/rectangle pattern. Then you can tap and hold and bulk sell them after collecting. This was an immense time saver and prevents you from accidentally storing the Kwik-E-marts instead of selling them. I still haven't found a way to bulk buy buildings but bulk selling saves so much time and tapping.

Next update is Itchy and scratchyland. It will be interesting to see if it will be merged with Krusty Land, or maybe it will be the upper portion of Springfield Heights.

Did anyone here get it hit with the rollback bug or the login error?
I got them both. The former back in March. Among other things, it rendered the character shortcut in the upper lefthand corner broken and drastically reduced the IRS clearing radius. With the size of my Springfield and the amount of residents, not having those work means the map takes significantly longer to clear and assign. EA is finally acknowledging the problem, but the fixes are less than ideal. If I rolledback now I'd lose too many characters, buildings, and donuts I've acquired in the meantime. I think I'm just going to suck it up and accept how it plays now, only putting time into it during events.
The login error was frustrating, too. I got that last week. I stopped playing for a few days until I had time to uninstall/reinstall the game on my phone and tablet. Honestly, it felt kind of freeing having an excuse not to play anymore.
If it wasn't for my love of the Simpsons I probably would've bailed long ago.

No rollback fortunately. I got the login bug but it eventually fixed itself.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I bit on Scratchy. I've been stockpiling donuts since the last big event (aside from a couple small Vault items).
I'm still downloading updates nearly every time I play, and this one is a little larger, but at least it's somewhat fast. The one before this event was as slow as molasses. I'm glad that now we don't have to sign in every time, though it often warns me I didn't save on my other device, which doesn't exist, so I just ignore that.

Ha! Bort! I really like this trend of events that dive deep into classic episodes. Great prizes, funny stories, this really works.

Hmm, got the update last night, also went into the game this morning, but I can't find a way to kick off the event. I had everyone free at one point. Maybe it didn't start until such and such time?

Started for me when I logged in after lunch. Nice new chunk of land! Between some recent KEM farming, the 60 free donuts, and Gil's half price deal, I'm sitting pretty for premium purchases. Looking forward to it.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Not sure when or if EA will fix it, but you can currently farm butterfly gardens. They cost $100 cash each (sell back for $25), but they yield 1000xp on placement. If you have the multiplier on plus a decent bonus percentage, it's a really fast and cheap way to farm extra donuts.
Edit: It's already been nerfed.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I unlocked the final prize with one day to spare. As luck would have it, the event started when I was on vacation with no Wi-Fi and weak cell service. I tried to play while grocery shopping, but... 1.4 GB update!
I was able to get the 60 free donuts, but that was it for five days. Once I was back, I had to spend donuts to get the premium characters and rush some of their jobs (it only made sense to rush the premium characters, which were twice the payout for the same price), but I should be back on track now.

D'oh! Forgot to get Sarah Wiggum! Oh, well. 300 donuts is a lot, no matter how great the character. Plus, I went back and forth the whole time so that says something to me.
I'm digging the zoo event. The animals are cool and the zones are interesting. Wish the pandas didn't all look evil, though.

I'm liking the zoo event too. Only thing that annoys me is not being able to get land with money anymore and instead the game switching to the token system. Is there any way to earn tokens other than in the event quests?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Unfortunately not, at least not in any legit ways.
I know a lot of people are happy that Sarah Wiggum is available, but Knifey Spoony, is my favorite thing about this event.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
There's some land I can buy with dollars, and some I can get with tokens. Are the token-only squares ones that have been added in the last update, and I can only buy the old squares with dollars?

The ones with dollars are from an update from over a year ago. The ones with tokens are from the updates in 2018.
