Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I saw the Gil hourly deals start last night then was annoyed to see them disappear after an hour, what with Lugash's gym being on my wish list and coming up at 3 a.m. But they seem to be continually rotating so we'll probably get a chance at pretty much everything. I'm sitting on 400 donuts after all the recent bonuses and giveaways so I might bite on some buildings.

This morning's first deal was Funzos for 180 minus 75, and now it's Lard Lad (which I got several of when they changed the mystery box) for 110 minus 30.

I've got 263 donuts, I'm trying to decide between Luanne and Disco Stu.

Pulled the trigger on Disco Stu for 105 and on the Springfield YMCA.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I went crazy with the sale. I bought Luanne, Akira, and Disco Stu. I held off on Dr. Nick even though I kind of wanted him, so I guess I did exhibit some self control.

I've never spent cash on donuts -- they've all been earned in the game -- so why not. What else am I going to do with them?

I think i'm about tapped on this game. Currently have no more buildings to buy that aren't donuts. Nothing currently triggered, and never care about the events. My game has stalled

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm getting a weird occasional glitch where my characters and buildings are done, but have no thumb or whatever above them, though tapping them releases the $ and XP. Restarting the game fixes it.

I didn't get any more of the Gil deals, though some of them like the mountain I never got when I was playing the game. Bad timing.

All good choices--those are among my own limited donut purchases.

I can see how things would get stale if you don't do the events. Those are generally the quickest path to new items and free donuts.

There's a Cyber Monday deal which has Gil offering the Kwik E Mart Central Office for 145 donuts. It starts an Apu storyline quest.

Another "crafting" station for Springfield Heights. Only one, though. I hope there's tons more of them for the Christmas event starting next week. There's no way that this "crafting" stuff can get excessive and stale.

I just learned that if you fully upgrade something like the condo, it will now have selectable skins so that you can revert the look to any of the other stages.

Springfield Heights is just ridiculous. They seriously need to fix this crafting shit and either let people buy new land with money or have longer with bigger rewards crafting tasks. Also, they should have every character in the game be able to craft something. It takes too long to get anything on Springfield Heights cause its too expensive and time consuming.

I'm glad that there are skins for the building on Springfield Heights. This was something TSTO blogs had asked for a while, since most of these new upgradable buildings are too big and simply, ugly.

Just saw that the latest update added 2 more rows of regular land, plus some ocean front.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The annoying thing about crafting the ads is that they depend on the yoga mats. Those take eight minutes and the ads take 16 minutes, so you can stay ahead of it IF you play every eight minutes, but I generally collect them at the same time and therefore can't maximize the ads. The good news is that I picked up Disco Stu in the Black Friday sale and he produces yoga mats.

Christmas update is available in the iOS app store. Santa's Little Helper and Snow Monster are now playable characters.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Right now I'm planning the Christmas event to be the last event I play. Not sure if I will delete the application, or just play 2-3 times a week.

Hopefully this is a good event!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Why the hell are the guys behind the game putting new Christmas decorations on the buildings that already had decorations to begin with? Why couldn't they have selected areas or buildings that don't have Christmas decorations at all?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

They seem to have made the gift giving between neighbors into an iterated prisoner's dilemma. Each side chooses naughty or nice.

Nice/nice pays out 15/15 each time. Naughty/nice pays out 25/1. Naughty/naughty pays out 5/5.

There's a leaderboard which is supposed to tell you each persons split on naughty vs nice. Unfortunately, it seems that the two are reversed from what I'd have thought. Currently, red guys are the nice guys.

So then we just need a uniform agreement to go nice all the time??

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I believe that the best way is nice. Naughty will get you more on any single play, but people can punish you on future plays. Anyone you are naughty with can see it in their event menu, just like the tapball wins/losses. Everyone can see which way you're trending in the leaderboard. Why would anyone give a present to a guy who is largely or entirely naughty?

The leaderboard currently gives red for nice and blue for naughty. I suspect this is a bug. They may fix it and switch them at some point.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

How do you get more gifts? I was able to gift two of my neighbors and now it says I'm done for the day. Do we get a certain number per day? Or can they be earned?

Was wondering the same thing. The daily task requires to drop gifts to the neighbors yet I don't see anything spawning gift boxes at all. Did EA forgot to put this in the game?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I automatically got 5 to give out yesterday and another 5 today. I know of no other way to get them so far.

In-game update has come through to patch the leaderboard colors. Nice neighbors are blue now.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I started to go all nice and got screwed.. so my last few I did naughty.

But I'd rather everyone do nice-nice to get the most return.

On another topic.. how do you get more presents? I had 5 at the beginning and used them as part of the opening of the event.. For day 3 of the weekly tasks, you have to drop 5 presents.. I have 0.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I don't think you'll get any more until tomorrow. There doesn't appear to be an extra reward for finishing a task the same day.

Yeah. It looks like you get 5 each day. I just got 5 now. Yesterday I started the event about 10pm. So that task is done in the weekly task set.
