Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Just read this:

http://tstotopix.me/2015/04/23/terwi...s-daily-tasks/

As soon as you have completed one of Cecil’s daily tasks, and before you get taken to Cecil to collect your currency, click on your friends icon. Then go into one of your friends towns and you’ll get the reward. Go back to your town, and you’ll get the reward again.

Several users from the forum confirmed it works.

Anyone buy the Nightmare pile? I'm curious if it's worth it. Does it do anything cool?

It will allow you to do the kids Halloween costume tasks. I believe after doing Bart and Lisa's you have to send the kids there 3 times at two hours each time then the pile will have a list like the bounce house to do one of the kids costume tasks. So far, I have Bart, Lisa, and Nelson's unlocked.

What is the benefit of running Halloween tasks? Just for fun? I'd rather be earning event currency right now.

Pretty much. I've only sent Lisa out so far and she's wearing her witch costume from last year's Halloween event, which makes sense. But it's nice to have Ralph (presumably) get a 4 hour task, though he already has one through the bounce house. And also like the bounce house, I found out today that you can send only one kid out in their Halloween costume at a time.

So is THAT what the bounce house is good for? I haven't used it since the original questline because the $/XP seemed to be the same, but there are times I could use a four-hour task.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The *only* time I ever use the bounce house is if I want Ralph to be occupied for 4 hours. I think you're right in that it pays out the same $/XP as the kids' regular tasks. Now I'll probably use the nightmare pile since that gets Ralph walking around town instead of hidden away in a building, albeit an animated one.

Yeah.. I'm not sure I'm going to get the market before the end of part 1. I'm at 6783 spades out of 15250 needed and 3465 corn out of 4600 needed.

I have enough to craft the cane field, chimp resources or cafeteria now. I am close to the sani-john smokehouse. But I'm holding off as I want to see if I can get the market.

I am also getting close to, I assume donut rewards? There's a Cecil task, Digging Deep, that says to get 3000 spades. I'm at 1943/3000 for it.

Currently at 10,600 spades out of 5K so pretty much no chance for the market.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm a ways off, too. It's not definitive, but TSTO Addicts think we'll be able to keep constructing the market into Act 2:

How Long Do I Have To Craft These Items, Will They Disappear When Act 2 Starts?

The simple answer is…no they will not disappear when Act 2 starts. Here are a few clues as to why we think this…the Crafting Menu shows that New prizes will be added, it says nothing about prizes ending. Additionally, look at past Events where crafting was involved (Halloween/Superheros) you’ve had a long time to craft.

So don’t stress so much about how long it’s going to take you to craft an item, they’re meant to be long term goals…not something that will happen overnight. So pace yourself and play at your speed.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I got the Chimp thing and the cafeteria, don't really care about the market. Got the Itchy and Scratchy billboard out of the mystery box. Nowhere near completing the act 1 stuff. Game has been incredibly buggy for me since this event started, freezing and crashing constantly.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Hmm, it seems slightly risky to assume that we'll be able to craft after act 1 (didn't previous events change currency?), but on the other hand, the only risk is that I'll lose my currency and not get the cane field or the smokehouse. Since those are just decorations, it's really not much risk, and I'd prefer to hold out for the market, which actually does something.

Thanks for the tip!

The main currency changes. If they follow previous events, there will be no more spades after part 2 starts, but the corn and soybeans will remain. Spades aren't used in crafting.

Hmm, looks like today's update might have fixed the double-Cecil glitch.

Right, because the Act 1 prizes required spades. Good point.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The Act 1 crafting has indeed carried over.

And be sure to keep Homer free (to kick off the Act 2 main quest), as well as Lisa (two 4 hour quests) and Bart (two 24 hour quests).

That's cool. Of course I just used up all my saved resources to upgrade my HQ like seven times.

It's great that we have a lot more characters who can earn currency now, but I don't know if I can handle hourly tasks. I'm also a little conflicted by the characters who can earn both fertilizer and DNA, but based on how I earned the Act 1 prizes with time to spare, I think I'm going to favor fertilizer for now, especially since Act 2 added another interesting crafting item. Heck, we have two weeks to finish Act 2!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yep, I went for most of the upgrades, so that really knocked me back a ways from getting the market. For now I'm concentrating on getting more fertilizer, as well. Hopefully those hourly tasks will bring me back up.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I've also massively upgraded Monsarno... I think I'm at Level 14 now. I figured, getting the guaranteed multiple free buildings was worth more to me than continuing to work toward the Farmer's Market. If I can earn enough to get both then it won't matter which one I got first.... but if given a choice, the Market comes in second. At least for me.

Added benefit - by upgrading I've unlocked more resource-generating tasks for more groups of Springfielders. At this point, I think more than half of my citizens can be sent to labor at Monsarno to generate Fertilizer, Corn, or DNA strands.

Here's the Act Two calendar:

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

BTW: The Monsarno level-ups for Act 2 are:

Level 8 (1050F + 175C): High Rollers now create DNA
Level 9 (1200F + 200C): Corn rewards increased
Level 10 (1350F + 225C): Kooks now create Fertilizer
Level 11 (1500F + 250C): Fertilizer rewards increased
Level 12 (1650F + 275C): MONSARNO LIBRARY, Braniacs now create DNA
Level 13 (1800F + 300C): DNA rewards increased
Level 14 (1950F + 325C): MONSARNO HUMAN RESOURCES, Civil Servants now create Corn
Level 15 (2100F + 350C): Corn rewards increased
Level 16 (2250F + 375C): Celebrities now create DNA
[F=Fertilizer, C=Corn]

Levels continue from here but each reward is increased Fertilizer, then Corn, then DNA, then repeat.

Act Three starts in 2 weeks.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Lastly, if you need to know which characters you need to keep free for the various quests in Act 2, here's the rundown
Spoiler:
Act 2 Quests

For each quest or part of quest, I show the character who starts the quest (in parentheses), followed by the character who completes the quest and their task time.

The Soup Thickens
Pt 1 - (Homer) User squishes 5 Bob Clones
Pt 2 - (Bart) Lisa 4h (twice)
Pt 3 - (Lisa) Bart 24h
Pt 4 - (Bart) Bart 24h

The Science of Cooking
(Frink) - User squishes 15 Bob Clones (Award: Herbicide Squirter)

Pushback
Pt 1 - (CBG) CBG 6h
Pt 2 - (Bart) User taps Squirter and levels it up to Level 3 (need 180 Corn + 180 DNA total)
Pt 3 - (Lisa) Krabappel 4h
Pt 4 - (Moe) User squishes 25 Bob Clones
Pt 5 - (Selma) Upgrade Monsarno to Level 8 (level 7 plus 1050 Fertilizer + 175 Corn)
Pt 6 - (Bart) Five Springfielders 12h, Five other Springfielders 12h, Quimby 24h (all 3 can run concurrently)

Blessings of Guilt
Pt 1 - (Quimby) - User builds Outdoor Opera Stage (24h)
Pt 2 - (Bob) - Award: Sideshow Bob

That's a total of 114 straight hours' of tasks, or just under 5 days, with few concurrent task opportunities. Good luck!

Are you f'ing kidding me--the last task of the day is six hours? So much for finishing that one.
