Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Last night I had 85 nerds ready to be collected when EA told me that the Saturday reinforcements had arrived. 110 unplanned-for nerds. So I sent all them out to raid, went back to Springfield to collect my 85 nerds, sent THEM all out. Came back 2 hours later for the 8:00 raid, but held 25 back (110-85 = 25), sending only 60 of them out. Then during the 10-12:00 window, I harvested 85 more nerds, and sent all 110 of them out to raid castles only.
Took me over 30 minutes to get them all assigned.
Set the game down, then just checked in at 6pm today. I had over 25,000 Elixir and 8,000 Gold (IIRC) waiting. I've upgraded my castles to Levels 19/19/18, so I'm now generating 90 Nerds and have a 120 max capacity.
And Level 44 just arrived.

I'm going for broke... will send 120 Nerds out during the 10pm raid this evening and will check the haul at 6pm Saturday night. We should know in about 24h if the wins glitch is still in play.

After going back and forth on many donut purchases, the combo of the Sushi Bar AND Akira for 100 donuts was a no-brainer. Nabbed it with 103 donuts left over.
Have to laugh at how the game is set up to keep making it harder to collect due to the rising defenses and yet we collect to raise our own defenses. Vicious circle. Mmm, that's good satire!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

They cost 12 Donuts... DO NOT BUY.
1 - It will not be in your store to purchase until after you've completed "Bonsai Vivant Pt. 3" in the main questline. You will be given one for FREE during part of the questline, then it will show up and you can purchase more for 12 Donuts each. So if you're a completist and you only want one, you'll get one for free.
2 - If you purchase Akira, one of his tasks is to "harvest" Bonsai Trees. You'll be able to "harvest" as many for free as you want. So if you're purchasing the Sushi Restaurant & Akira anyway, there's no reason to waste $2.00's worth of donuts to get a decoration you an get for free... and if you want to buy Bonsai trees, Akira's cost (100 Do) approximately the same as 8 trees (96 Do).

I've got about 250 donuts. I splurged on Otto when he went on sale a couple of weeks ago. Beyond that, I can't decide who/what I want, so I just don't spend them on anything.

Nerd drop!
Is the number really 110 like someone mentioned earlier? I collected 65 from my castles when I woke up this morning, did some errands, then two hours later sent out the original 65 and then tapped another 65 and sent those out too. Fortunately I believe I was at zero when the reinforcements arrived but still missed out on some due to capacity. Clearly I still have a ways to go on upgrading my castles.
Yeah, it's especially nice to have more than one on the schedule. However, it reminds how s-l-o-w FP are to accumulate.

I don't think FP accumulate that slowly. You can get 600 or more per day by visiting your friends, plus whatever you get from your friends visiting you. That means you can grab both prizes this go-round in about two weeks.

It's (after) 6pm.... time to go check on the overnight raid to see whether the wins glitch is still there. I sent 120 Nerds out, plus whatever Nerds from yesterday's 6pm and 8pm raids that hadn't been defended yet. Standby.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
And 120 reinforcements, which I need to send out one-by-one.
Looks like the 8pm raid is gonna be postponed until 8:30 or 8:45 at the earliest, it's going to take a while to get the reinforcements out so I can claim my 90 Nerds and restart the 2h clock.
..okay, got the 120 assigned with a couple of minutes to spare, so I was able to claim my 90 before 6:30. Pushed Bart's castle to L19, so I'm done with castle upgrades (19/19/19). 90 Nerds every 2h, 130 Nerd capacity, means I need to hold 40 back from my NEXT raid for use overnight. And though it doesn't mean jack at this point, I'm continuing to "upgrade" the family to see how ridiculously high they end up. Right now:
Barbarian Homer is Level 56 (78,600 needed for next level)
Wizard Marge is Level 19 (82,000)
Archer Lisa is Level 35 (78,900)
Goblin Bart is Level 26 (79,800)
I have 78,072 Gold, and am now stockpiling Elixir with 24,517. Shoot, if I get 20K elixir overnight every night for the rest of September, I'm going to have enough castle walls and gates and towers to encircle all of Springfield with TONS to spare.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Wow, the first mutliperson quest for each new storyline, includes Chirpy Boy & Bart Jr as characters able to do it. They won't work with the character finder in the top left, not sure about through city hall, but if you click on the the mission in the task list/notebook after everyone else is assigned, it'll bring them up.
Looks like they don't show up in the Census, and if you click on the building while they are doing their task, they don't have a headshot.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
I finally bought a bunch more land, added the castle accessories, and moved the Stonecutters into their own area.
It seems pretty slow to me.
We're about a day and a half in, and I only have 1200 total even though I visit friends regularly. I do have a fair number of friends that are inactive (I pruned a few the other day). My visitors have increased because of these prizes, which is great. Also, with all the reinforcements going around, I have more houses under attack than usual
, though I think I still have plenty that are tappable.

For FP accumulation, once I drill through the first 40 towns I typically stop. The FP return on the first 10 towns is 10FP per building x 3, then 5FP, then 4FP, then 2FP. After that, it's 1FP per building x3 per town, and there are so many other things going on that chasing down those final 3FP/town just isn't worth it. That's 630/day, not counting visits to my town by others.

Decided to try the trick. Around 4:30 pm with 90 nerds, started visiting strangers. A few with 15 hours, but most with less than 10 hours. And then I found one with 17 hours
I'm not an addict but that's a long time before I play the game again.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out
Any philosophies on whether to cluster castles or not? I like having mine together, but some people have said they split them apart because that's what the characters would do, which is cool. Makes them harder to find, though.
Yeah, I haven't tried it yet, but one of my attacks last night was a 22-hour wait.
Yep, if starseed has been attacking his neighbors, it should be about the same except you won't have the friend buildings to tap on, just the attack axes.

I found a random last night who would have been a 25 hour attack. I wound up skipping him to look for juicier targets.
I'll probably send my nerds out in the next hour or so and plan to leave the game alone until tomorrow morning. I'm just about up to the final prize level, so after that, we'll see if I go back to playing more regularly or staying offline but for once or twice a day.

Got all the stuff so i don't need to put anymore hours in to this, I'm not interested in walls, gates and that type of stuff; I don't have any land to put that stuff up anyway.
