I see that the 360 also launched on November 22nd. Nice synergy.

Makes sense. It supports up to 8 controllers... so in first person shooters you have the option to be a lone gunmen, or have up to 7 other shooters behind the grassy knoll.

Vegas > Xbox One

Although I am skipping a pinball convention for the launch. That was a tough choice.

I can finally plan my holiday vacations!

That's going to be great double dipping on COD for them. I mean it's only a 17 day difference, but that's a lot of time for a MP junkie.

So, when is someone going to post the new poll? ;)

Ah shit, same day as SPF! That blows. Oh well, I'll have the following week off, that'll give me plenty of gaming time.

Yep. The launch of the console, plus the Dr. Who 50th special on Saturday... two whammys for me. I'd be too distracted to fully enjoy the pinball. I'm going to try for APE in February to make up for it.

Well it's nice that people will have a chance to recover between the launch of the PS4 and Black Friday.

just kidding...that's gonna be 3 hellish fridays in a row for retail people.

My guess as to how the weeks will go for those who don't pre-order:

15th: "Can I get a PS4?" "Sorry, they're sold out, can I interest you in a Wii U?" "No thanks, I'll try next week"

22nd: "Can I get an XBOX One?" Sorry, sold out, can I interest you in a Wii U?" "No thanks, I'll try next week"

29th "Please, can I get a PS4 or an XBOX One" "Sorry, sold out, can I interest you in a Wii U?" "NOBODY WANTS A FUCKING WII U!"

Glad they finally announced a date but sad that I guessed wrong ;) I feel like an idiot not looking up when the 360 launched, would have made a lot more sense.

It honestly doesn't really matter what day it is launching to me, just happy it's a Friday...3 day weekend!!!

Smart move launching a week earlier than PS4 in Europe AND bundling free FIFA. Will it give them a lead over there? No. Will it help a bit? Yes.

I'm sure this will get lost in the release date talk, but before I forget. PvZ Garden Warfare is going to online only and $39.99. Definitely disappointed in the lack of offline coop but maybe we can host private matches or something. Also, the price seems a bit steep to me.

Online only as in digital download only?

I thought that maybe Sony would be able to manage a late October launch in the US or Japan only, but never expected MS to be able to do it after announcing November specifically.

As for the X1, if we're throwing guesses out there, I'm going to go with Nov 22nd. I would love for it to be sooner, but I think their bean counters are telling them to go that route to maximize CoD:Ghosts sales on 360. Just my own hunch, that's all.

Called it! ;)

No, although PvZ will be multiplayer only. From that same link:

So, when Garden Warfare debuts on Xbox One, it will be $39.99 as both a retail and downloadable title.

Yeah I meant online only as in multiplayer online only.

No one wants to get a Wii U when it's going to have 2 Mario games available, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pikmin etc. and a $100 lower price (bundled with Zelda). Not one person.

The fact that I can still pre-order both the PS4 and Xbox One FOR LAUNCH DAY tell's me it's not going to be the huge smash success many believe it to be.

Re: The Ironically Thoughtless Xbox One Thread

If the Wii-U was $199 like it should be, it would sell. As it stands, it's dead and will get lost in the shuffle through the holidays. Sure people will buy it, but not many and not enough. Great news for me, once it dies ill be able to finally play Lego City Undercover :)

By the time the PS4/Xbox One comes out, it'll be out for an entire year.

At the PS3 launch no one watched an Xbox 360 either. It's no longer "new".

Not sure I understand your reasoning. By your logic, nobody will want a WiiU in November because its not "new", which is what I was saying. They don't want it now either, so what changes? Yet another Donkey Kong game and a Zelda remake? You've confused me

Re: The Ironically Thoughtless Xbox One Thread

So MS had a goal (and pretty much hit it) of 2.5-3 million consoles sold in the first 90 days. They sold 320k in the US alone in the launch week. According to them, they are surpassing that with the biggest launch ever for them. How many are we expecting? 2-3 million doesn't even sound like a lot honestly, especially over 3 months. Can they manufacture enough to hit closer to a million sales here in the US?

Looks like the UK gets a choice of either FIFA or Forza 5 as their free game:

I think the $500 price tag is going to cut into their numbers more than they think. Especially since (besides games) the One doesn't really offer anything that TVs, Blu-ray players, Roku, AppleTV and a million other devices currently do.

I'd be amazed if they got to 3 million in 3 months. I've been a gamer since the 2600 days and I refuse to buy it at that price. I also didn't get the PS3 when it was $600.
