Why wouldn't Microsoft flip the Y&X and B&A? This isn't Japan, we read left to right here.

I hate to interrupt this riveting discussion about controller button placement, but

Seriously.. ;) Can we just go back to the straight-forward console bashing? ;)
Then there'd be nothing to talk about for months. Can't have that. |
Re: The Ironically Thoughtless Xbox One Thread
I hope the XB1 D-pad is fixed. I absolutely loathe the 360 version. I still think Nintendo has the best D-pads. I prefer staggered analogs so the XB1 is going to be my preferred controller this generation as well. It's the number one reason I'm probably going to stick with MS. I know everyone says the PS4 controller is much improved, but I feel like Sony is just being stubborn not switching to staggered.

The D-Pad is fixed on the XB1 controller. It's far better than the revised 360 controllers that came out a few years ago. In fact, all of the changes Microsoft made seem right. I had no problems with the control being smaller, but then again, I'm not a behemoth. Sony made a great controller and it fixes a lot of the mistakes made with their past controllers, but I feel that it's too little too late. It's a far better and natural feeling in your hands than the DualShock 3. However, there were no games that utilized the touchpad yet. It's hard to determine how the trackpad will correspond with gameplay. |

Wow, they make hooking up a console seem like rocket science...

It's a Microsoft Store. They're no geniuses. I'm sure it'll be set to the Benny Hill music in 3... 2...

How about a really nice demo of Dead Rising 3? I don't see any frame rate issues. Looks kind of fun. |
Re: The Ironically Thoughtless Xbox One Thread
DR3 does look pretty great. I haven't heard any mention about there being a time limit in the game like previous games. Does anyone know if it also has one? I'm hoping not.
|
Re: The Ironically Thoughtless Xbox One Thread
I thought I remember saying there was a separate mode with time limits if you wanted the older experience. Personally, I never fully enjoyed the previous 2 because of those limits so I'm glad to see it gone here.

Re: The Ironically Thoughtless Xbox One Thread
My only complaint is the Smartglass stuff. They made it sound like that's the only way you can use those features (calling in allies from anywhere, firing the big flare explosion). If so, that's really fucking lame. I don't see how that's any more "immersive" or easier than just going into the games menu and doing the same thing.
|
Re: The Ironically Thoughtless Xbox One Thread
Hopefully it doesn't have any stupid timed limitations like DR2 did.

Xbox One CPU clock speed increased again by 150mhz. Confirmed here.

Re: The Ironically Thoughtless Xbox One Thread
Xbox One now in full production with improved CPU performance
:rock2: http://www.geekwire.com/2013/xbox-up...u-performance/ So far, so good for the Xbox One. Xbox chief marketing officer Yusef Mehdi just spoke at the Citi Global Technology Conference and said Microsoft is now in full production for the Xbox One and producing in mass with plans still on for a November 2013 launch. About one month after improving the GPU clock speed, Mehdi added that Microsoft just made another technical boost by upgrading the CPU performance to 1.75 GHZ from 1.6 GHZ. Mehdi wouldn’t reveal a launch date — the PlayStation 4 comes out Nov. 15 — but did say that the system is “really going to shine.” “This will be the biggest launch we’ve ever done by a wide margin in terms of units shipped at launch,” Mehdi said. Mehdi also had some interesting insights on the Xbox One policy reversals, the $499 price point and how the Xbox business will change with Microsoft’s big re-organization. Stay tuned for more. |
Re: The Ironically Thoughtless Xbox One Thread
but, but if they are increasing the clock speed again, how can they deliver on a November launch!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!

So either this means yields are better than expected, or it's a reason that it was delayed in other markets. |
Re: The Ironically Thoughtless Xbox One Thread
Wait they just started mass producing this thing?
How many can they produce in a month? |

How many can they produce in a month? Maybe like how Foxconn has multiple facilities dedicated to iPhone production. |
