Amazon is doing the $9.99 trade-in 360 to One program too: http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...hsb_5s_2_VG-HP
Until December 31, 2013, trade in a select Xbox 360 game and get a $25 bonus credit toward the same title on Xbox One in addition to your trade-in value of at least $25. By contrast, Gamestop is offering a $50 minimum trade-in value. That means if the trade-in value of the game is normally $35, they'll bump it up to $50. So it's highly unlikely you'd get any more than $50 credit from Gamestop. http://www.gamestop.com/nextgenoffer |
Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
If the other studios are doing announcements at Gamescom there's not a big reason for Microsoft to have an "official" press conference there. They usually don't have one there anyway. There'll be news, of course... but no need for the typical stage show.
Sony does, because Sony has a more prolific collection of studios to talk about. |
Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
Microsoft needs a re-introduction platform, but rumors are still swirling about production issues, the latest stating the most recent SDK boxes are running 20% slower than the previous ones. This is my main concern with buying a Launch Day Xbox One.
I bought my PS3 60gb as a refurb and it's still working, I bought my Xbox 360 new, it RRoD'd, 4 refurbs later I finally got one that lasted longer than a couple months (to note, this isn't really a huge complaint because Microsoft dealt with it properly). |
Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
I use Amazon for my games, so since i'm buying Madden from them this might work out well for me... awesome.

Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
@geoffkeighley: And to those asking, there is no Xbox press conference at GamesCom. Some news will break overnight.
No conference was ever scheduled by the way. They will have a big showing in the expo, Major Nelson is going to be there, but no big conference a la E3. |

The Amazon deal may be better than the Gamestop one:
This means that if the trade-in value is more than $25, you'll get that higher trade-in value, plus $25 bonus. So if the trade-in value turns out to be $35, you get that and $25 bonus, meaning $60 trade-in. |

Or the trade in value could dip below $25 and it would be worse than the GS deal.

All of the XBox One's announced games so far, straight from Microsoft.

Latest rumor is a free 3rd party game bundled with all XBOX One systems in Europe and U.S. I was kind of hoping for a bundled game and I believe Forza was mentioned earlier here. This would be pretty major if it was something crazy like Call of Duty. Again, just a rumor and not exactly the most well known site:

Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
So since the new kinnect can track eye movement, does that mean if I'm watching netflix and doze off the Kinnect will pause the show? That's a pretty cool feature if they have it.

Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
No, but the Kinect might... ;)

Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
That site specifically says Europe and perhaps the US. Since we already know that Europe's getting a free game because of the delayed launch, this doesn't really seem like real news, as I really don't think the US will get a free game bundled in. I think it'd be awesome if true, but I'm wholly skeptical. :)

Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
Fifa.
|
Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
If that were to happen, I'd think the most likely game would be Watch Dogs.
It's a high profile game, but it's coming out on current and next gen. It's coming out fairly close to GTA V, which might hurt sales a bit. Ubisoft discounts their games pretty quick anyway, and they already made a deal with Sony for exclusive game content. |
Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
My guess would be Forza. No way they'd leave any Call of Duty money on the table.
Also, I'd be shocked if the US got a bundle. Those days are long gone. |
Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
I haven't seen any concrete evidence on the US console getting a free game. However, it's been all but confirmed that European buyers will get FIFA 14 when they buy a launch XO console which is smart as fuck.
|
Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
Yeah, FIFA makes the most sense over there. Watch Dogs would also be a pretty good bet as stated earlier. I hope we get a game bundled as well, but not holding my breath.

"Xbox One will include FIFA 14 with European pre-orders" Kind of disappointing that we aren't getting anything over here, but I'm sure the presales have been much slower in Europe, where Sony has the better console sales. |
