Also excited we are getting NFS Rivals at launch. That game looks to be a blast.

Latest rumor is a free 3rd party game bundled with all XBOX One systems in Europe and U.S. I was kind of hoping for a bundled game and I believe Forza was mentioned earlier here. This would be pretty major if it was something crazy like Call of Duty. Again, just a rumor and not exactly the most well known site:

It's that major. FIFA is not like Madden to the USA. FIFA is like COD. Comparing the number of players and how people go crazy about that game.

They also announced that some "legendary soccer players" are going to be exclusive for FIFA Ultimate Team. That's also important, not as big as the free game, but EA is getting a lot of revenue from FUT (FIFA Ultimate Team), so something being exclusive to the Xbox One may impact in consoles sales.

Microsoft is doing its work, it seems.

Lego marvel on one? Hmmm. I may have to cancel my 360 order now.

Why only Europe for the free Fifa? That might have actually swayed me to pick up an Xbone.

Can't wait until the Kinect can identify me taking my pants off and auto-switch to xhamster.

The thing with including a "launch" title is it needs to basically be rated E, and FIFA doesn't have the same appeal here. I almost feel like Madden would be a proper pack-in for it, or Need for Speed: Rivals (I always found them more appealing than Forza/GT style games).

Well shit, I guess I'm not changing my 360 Lego Marvel preorder. It's $10 more expensive on One and Amazon isn't giving out any preorder credit with it.

I'm not sure if they clarified, but it sounds like ALL of Europe is getting FIFA, not just the delayed countries. Even better, it seems to be for all pre-orders until launch, not just those who have already pre-ordered. If this doesn't sell a bunch of systems, then MS is really in trouble.
edit: here's the actual text from xbox.com:
all pre-order Xbox One consoles in Europe this holiday will include a digital version of a blockbuster game - the first of these bundles will be "FIFA 14." All pre-orders to date and orders from today will include "FIFA 14," while supplies last.

Personally, I don't care about FIFA (like 99.99%* of North Americans), but I think it's a brilliant inclusion for Europe. That said, since we're not getting any free games, I'm cancelling my console pre-order. ;)

Lol I checked the same thing last night.

Looks like $5 for each Killer Instinct Character, or $20 for all 6 + 2 additional post launch. I said $20 was my price point so I guess I am in.

Also, PEGGLE 2!!!!

Did the guy from E3 come back on stage and jump in the air like an idiot shouting PEGGLE 2!!!

Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??

It's getting to the point where I can't see a reason any rational gamer would choose the PS4 over the Xbox. Sure, the price point is still a lot, but that's about it.
-Hardware is basically a wash on both
-Improved indie game policies. Stuff like Minecraft exclusive.
-Xbox controller still the best, despite improved DS4 controller
-Much better Xbox launch titles
-Kinect and Smartglass integration possibilities, no comparison on PS4
-Better and more exclusives announced. Titanfall, Halo, Forza, Dead Rising, Killer Instinct, Fable etc versus the PS4 with Knack, Killzone, Infamous, and Drive Club.
-3rd party games better on Xbox and have exclusive DLC and dedicated servers
-Xbox live and things like Skype and Twitch being exclusive. Plus, the interface tends to work much better on Xbox consoles
-Both play BluRay
-Huge PS exclusives now multiplatform. Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts/Metal Gear

I know I'll get torn up for posting this, but honestly after removing the online check and unplugging the Kinect, I think the Xbox wins hands down. Is it really worth it buying a PS4 for the promise of another Uncharted/God of War at the cost of everything else?

The PS4 is still more powerful and will likely have better long term exclusives, less start-up cost. I like the Xbox interface and controller better. I also don't see how either has "much better launch titles" than the other, they're mostly cross-generational titles. Also, did I miss something? How are 3rd Party Games better on the Xbox? And you didn't really list any advantages anywhere. They're basically a wash with one being $100 more and having a better controller.

Thus far, I am interested in Titanfall, but that's about it in terms of exclusives for the 360. I can't say I'm much more interested in anything on the PS4, but I'll take the $100 savings. This also isn't the PS3 vs Xbox 360, there is no advantage on programming for one over the other this round. And Microsoft's Azure services outside of dedicated servers is still all hype.

Anyway, long story short it'll come down to the games, and frankly nothing has been super impressive in terms of exclusives yet.

I will undoubtably be on board once Oculus Rift support is announced.

What's really lame is the 6-8 character roster.

Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??

Yeah, I still "get" why people want to pick the PS4 over the X1. It makes sense. But like discostu, I think the X1 exclusives are more to my liking. When the PS4 long-term exclusives are released, and they're titles I want/need, then that's when I'll be comfortable picking up that console (likely without hesitation...)

Raul3 08-20-13 09:23 AM

Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??

It's all about the games now. In the long term the price difference is not big deal. In real life Xbox Live is always cheaper than PS+.

So, whatever exclusives you like the best, that's the best console.

And of course that's hoping that the PSN infrastructure is going to work as good as the Xbox Live one. Yes, Sony is working on that, but until we see it in real life we will know if they did a good work.

Raul3 08-20-13 09:25 AM

Re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??

Also, most people here will get both consoles, some will even get both at release date.

In my case Xbox One in release date. And the PS4 no later than holiday 2014.

Yeah, this was a "must buy for me", but 6-8 characters for $20? Really? What the hell.

This is still wrong, no matter how many people want to try to make this point. The design architecture is very similar (especially on the CPU side), but the PS4 is more powerful, enough so that you will see differences between cross-platform titles, even some launch titles I bet.

So you'd rather pay $60 for it? I'm confused. Yeah, you are getting a slightly gimped game since it doesn't have a standard sized roster of characters, but where the hell can you find any fighting game for $20?

I was thinking the same thing, the low number of characters is pretty weak but for $20 it isn't too bad.

Fixed that. Though technically Tekken Revolution came out in June of this year.

Same here for me, or PS4 whenever the first price drop is.
