If they'd just drop the Kinect that no one wants... |
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
Good. If it's been MS's plan thus far to pull the original idea and make gamers think suddenly that they're missing out on something great, then maybe their PR department isn't so dumb after all...

It would seem that they could simply ditch the "install disc based games, make them digital" part of the whole thing and everyone would be happy. Disc based games work like they do on the 360, digital sales are part of this happy new Xbox utopia. If it works like they think it would, then they should see a natural consumer shift to buying digital.

What they are doing on the PSN - tying the game to the GamerTag and the Console is what the 360 has done for digital items.

Some more of that..."when it rains...it pours"
Xbox One maker Microsoft facilitated collection of private Skype and email transmissions - Report http://www.gamespot.com/news/xbox-on...report-6411352 Microsoft allegedly assisted the National Security Agency (NSA) to intercept user communications, the Guardian has posted. According to reports, Microsoft assisted in the circumvention of its encryption for various communication services, included Oulook.com, Hotmail, Skype, and cloud storage service SkyDrive. The collection of communication data was executed using a program codenamed Prism, which purportedly collects information from Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Apple. According to the report, Microsoft also coordinated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to assist the NSA in its data collection. Microsoft also allegedly coordinated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to assist the NSA in its data collection. An individual warrant is not required by the secret surveillance court to collect these communications, so long as the NSA holds a 51 percent belief a target is not a US citizen and is not on US soil at the time of collection. Earlier this year Microsoft revealed Skype would be integrated into their next-gen Xbox One console. The console will support Skype video calling using Kinect voice and gesture controls to execute onscreen actions. |

So a company complying with the Federal Government is now a bad thing and you couldn't wait to add more Microsoft sucks to this thread?

I'm confused, cause all I saw was a re-post of a relevant news story. |
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
Relevant how?
|
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
MS Sucks - Sony rules!!!! relevance!
It is similar to all the anti-MS trolling BS that happened during the RROD period. |

I look forward to my day in NSA court where I get to explain why I was sitting in my chair playing video games.

you're basically saying if it's negative, don't post it. and I'm very against that. |
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
The news is: Microsoft complied with a government order, oh and they're releasing a new game console.
That's not negative. It's being spun as negative. The crime against America and its citizens, if there is one, is being done by the US Government. If Sony owned Skype or an email service, they'd be in the article too. |

Paul Thurrott put it best:
Microsoft Does Its Patriotic Duty, Works Side-by-Side with United States to Help Battle Terrorism And yes, that was my attempt at a Fox News-style headline, in which what I’m really trying to communicate is that Microsoft allegedly provided the National Security Agency (NSA) and FBI with “encryption workarounds” so that they could spy on users using Skype, Outlook.com, and SkyDrive. According to The Guardian, Microsoft “collaborated closely” with these government agencies—the company was apparently very eager to please, according to the story—in what the NSA described as a “team sport.” Put another, less dramatic way, Microsoft simply complied with government requests as required by law. Moving on. |

Then by all means to make it fair..just show me (us) all the stories of Sony complying with the Feds, how they worked with the NSA but everything is ok, nothing happening here...and pay no attention to that mandatory camera that's included with every Xbox. I'm not bashing MS...it's out there to believe or not believe, fact or fiction, big deal or nothing to worry about. I'm not the one putting the stories out...MICROSOFT is putting the stories out....but it's up to whomever to ever look at it or sweep it under the rug and pretend nothing happened. |
re: Xbox One: We said WHAT at E3??
Have a Nintendo 3DS? Camera. Cell phone? Camera. Laptop? Camera. Mandatory cameras. Built into the hardware cameras. Microphones too.
In my house I would wager there are almost a dozen cameras and microphones that are permanently affixed to devices we use. I also have a Skype account at home and work, and a Hotmail account (that may or may not still even exist as a service). So far I have not been arrested, and every maker of those electronics would turn over their info on me if 1) Any info actually existed and B) they were asked to by the federal government. |
