I think Toys R Us is as well. Honestly, they're one of the best videogame retailers in the US.

The way I see it - The Xbox One won't need quite as many units as the PS4. From what I recall the PS4 is set to launch in US, Europe, Australia and Japan this year. Xbox One is US, Europe and Australia (could be wrong there). Japan is pretty big for Playstation so they definitely need to crank out a few more units.

Also, Gamestop was just talking about in-store preorders right? Because you can still pre-order the Day One edition there: http://www.gamestop.com/xbox-one/con...edition/109961

You SHOULDN'T... because they'll screw it up, but you could...

Yep. I'd never pre-order a console from Gamestop. The Wii U launch was a giant clusterfuck.

Why anyone wouldn't order from Amazon and have it sitting on their doorstep on launch day is beyond me.

Who knows. Don't you skip oh's and ah's in haiku? Anyway, it's funnier without the analysis. :)

<- $420 in Gamestop credit, and it's not like I'm going to buy games there.

Maybe he pronounces it as "turr-bull"?

Anyone think "Day One" editions of games might hold some value long term?

You're giving this more thought than I am. I submit to your expertise.

You can select Amazon Locker at checkout, so that it gets delivered to a local store that you can pick it up from:

Nope. Aside from the slightly different artwork, the only differences are the digital goodies you get. Once you're done with it and attempt to do anything with it, it'll just be the game itself to anyone else who ends up with it.

No Amazon Lockers around Tulsa or OKC. That's okay, though, we still leave front doors unlocked.

There are four of them.

Ryse
Dead Rising 3
Forza 5
Kinect Sports Rivals

They all say "includes exclusive in-game content that will unlock unique items and experiences and collectible box art". Most likely these will end up being like the "Limited Editions" of games that say "Exclusive content in this run only!" and then never get a second pressing.

Interesting. I didn't know that existed. I'm not getting either console for a long while, but thanks for the info.

None here either, but I work in an office.

Does anyone know if you can retroactively apply gift cards to an order? Basically, I will soon have quite a bit of Amazon credit and wanted to put it toward my current order of the Xbox One. I see the change payment method, but I don't see anything about adding credit.

I think you will need to open up a chat window with CS and have them apply it.

Aaron Greenberg, an MS guy who doesn't hide behind an anonymous paste in, sated on twitter, stated "There was no time limit, it was as we described. Team still investing in more digital features over time."
Not that it matters.

So Microsoft is either evil or incompetent.

Evil = Draconian DRM with no benefit to the customer.
Incompetent: DRM opens you up to unlimited sharing of games. Amazing! Revolutionary! Not communicated!

Either way, it doesn't get me excited for their console.

They can still do it with digital downloads. Depends on how bitter they are about caving on the other stuff. I could see them, a year from now, asking people to "opt in" to the things they wanted to do.
