Note that I don't think it's Microsoft trying to screw the small developer as much as it's trying to get some kind of quality control without doing it all themselves, as well as getting exclusivity, but the policy sure isn't helping.

And make more money off those indie/arcade games.

But they don't care about the money, they just care about the developers!

Oh, you can add DIablo 3 to the Xbox One list of games as well. While not officially announced, I spoke to some Blizzard dude at E3 who announced it by omission to me...something along the lines of "yeah it's coming out on next gen systems, but i think all we announced is the PS4 version so far"

I'm glad to hear that! Do you think there will be much of a differnence between the 360 and Xone versions?

Great, and now Xbox live and all of their websites are down. Now what?

Microsoft: "You want offline gameplay? FINE."

It'll be far easier to find other players on the 360 version. ;)

Did they announce a Japanese release date yet? I know they said late 2014 for the rest of Asia. I know that the 360 basically bombed in Japan, but I'm more wondering if that means, at least initially, that the PS4 will have a monopoly on Japanese-centric games (like the stuff Nippon Ichi, Atlus, and XSeed license and/or release). I can't imagine they'd delay a year for Japan too...

Good, their outages never last long. Just sucked sine I was playing Remember Me and don't like unlocking achievements offline ;)

No idea, but all they had on display at E3 was the PS3 version and I personally thought it looked ugly. I'm assuming the PS4/X1 versions will look like the PC version. I may actually buy it again, and the 4 player local co-op is pretty awesome.

I never said they didn't care about video games. I said they don't care about gamers. We're a stepping stone to the casual market that they want to make this box the end-all be-all of the entertainment center.

If that were the case, why didn't they showcase all of their new Kinect-centric games?

It seems to me the Kinect features Microsoft is touting the most are voice commands, which most assuredly would not need the camera.

Can someone catch me up about the retroactive game-sharing announcement? Did they really say, after the fact, that the game sharing was going to be demo only (like I suspected it might be)? Is there a source for this? Thanks.

No. Just an anonymous rant posted to pastebin purported to be from a MS employee, but with no proof. Nobody at MS has confirmed that the "demo only" thing is true, and at this point, they likely won't comment either way.

My guesses:

A) They aren't done
B) They don't demo well on stage at Microsoft

And Fantasia: Music Evolved was talked about a lot.

Okay, so no news really.

I just felt like every single statement any MS rep said at E3 was something that had a little * and then a long, legal disclaimer at the end of it.

There's a very good chance there would be stipulations to some effect. The rant posted earlier does seem genuine and passionate from how it reads; if it wasn't an MS employee, it was a very motivated troll lol.

What he said about the family plan very likely would've come to fruition. Anyone who thought they could buy a single game at $60 and share it with 9 different friends has a few screws loose upstairs

Exactly, which makes it all the more unfortunate that Microsoft allowed that door of speculation to hang open. One more log on the pile of marketing fail.

Bingo...of course the "swipe" feature moving and stretching windows seems cool but I guess it depends on the person...are they wanting a All-In-One media center with all sorts of gadget and happens to have gaming possibilities or do they want a gaming console with some extra features. I for one don't really want it, care for it and content with our current setup of everything running thru a Yamaha AVR and one remote.

Here is by the way a Wiki list of the current XO games and out of the 54-55 about (11) have Kinect option.

I've noticed that wherever Microsoft was vague, wishful thinking took over. Several pages ago, there was baseless speculation that MS would offer digital downloads of new games at $40 -- and then that was treated as a factual strike against PS4.
