My LE preorder at Best Buy is still active. I suppose I'm not getting the $50 off
I did request a store pick-up rather than a shipped copy. After getting mailed a dinged-to-Hell steelbook of Arkham Origins, I think that was the right call on that front.

I want to go Digital for Destiny, unfortunately I'm cheap and lazy...in that order. Give me 20% off the digital version like BB:GCU, and I'm in. Also, since there isn't another game I'm interested in for the next 6 months or so, leaving the disc in won't be a problem.

I can't believe so many of you heathens are going digital with this game. Need I remind you:
- You can't trade it in...Don't intend to with this game. After playing the Alpha and Beta plus Bungie has confirmed DLC maps & mission with the Season Pass good till Fall 2015.
- It'll never be cheaper digitally than the physical copy...true to a point but discounts will come.
- You still can't trade it in...see above
- You can't lend it to your friend who just wants to try it before buying it...I stopped loaning out disc games long ago after one favorite came back damaged, which I had to replace which is why you don't worry about with Digital Base Games
- Trading it in is impossible...see above
- you don't get a shiny disc with a cheap plastic box and paper sleeve...see above about lending it out
- Did you know that you can't trade digital copies in?...Did you know you don't have to worry about handling a disc a couple of hundred times, damage or scratches...like when you loan it out.

If it were as cheap as a disc version with discounts (and honestly, why isn't it?), I'd consider it.
But here those with GCU can get the base game for $38 + tax after discount and $10 RZ certificate. That beats the hell out of $59.99. And in this particular case, getting an apparently rare steelbook, the Season Pass and some silly digital bonuses might be worth $80 total to me (the guy who has a bronze CoD medal, a Max Payne figure standing over a hardwood floor covered in bullet casings and a leather-skirt clad Kratos figure on top of his desk).

The only times digital would be a better deal is if PS+ or GWG offer the game at a cheaper rate than what has been provided at retail (minus 20 percent).
It's a shame Best Buy doesn't sell digital downloads for the consoles outside of DLC.

Yeah, but rarely if ever has PS+ offered a AAA title cheaper than 20% off before release. Not sure about Xbox.

Looks like if you haven't gotten an e mail from Best Buy about your preorder by now, your're safe
All customers that were impacted by these cancellations would have been notified via email by now, so if you haven’t received a cancellation notification, your pre-order is still active.

I think everyone sort of knew this was coming but it's now confirmed....
Destiny beta characters cannot be transferred to final game
Characters created during the Destiny beta cannot be transferred to the final game, Bungie has confirmed.
Any items earned will not be transferrable either. Why? Because the amount of tweaks made to the game following the beta could leave some characters "broken", the developer says.
"Since the Beta, we’ve continued to tune and adjust the game," explained designer Tyson Green. "The way you earn experience has been adjusted up and down a bunch of times. Items have been added and removed. New features toggled. Although there’s no single monumental change, the sum of the tweaks leaves characters from the Beta Build in strange shape that would be confusing at best, broken at worst."
