Re: Bungie - Destiny
The only problem I have with this game is with the reward system. If you're going to make something that difficult (raid or nightfall), a good reward should be guaranteed. I have absolutely no problem with difficult things actually being difficult. But if you're gonna punish me with difficulty, I better get something more than energy and shards which is all I ever fucking get. I solo'd last weeks nightfall with all 3 characters and got in this order:
1) 10 ascendant energy
2) 5 ascendant energy
3) legendary fusion rifle (which broke down into ascendant energy).
Seriously? Thats why people cheese shit. I have no problem with making things difficult, but it's really not worth the time and effort for rewards like that.

^This times a million.
One reward for the end of a Nightfall mission or a single chest/encounter in the Raid should yield a guaranteed weapon or armor piece. The loot table for those can still be random (the loot table will only be populated with weapons/armor... leave out the shit chatterwhite and ass mats) but at least everyone will know they are getting ONE weapon or armor piece for their trouble. The rest of the rewards, chests, or encounters can still be random like it works now.
People will still play the game, heck they may even play more if they know they are guaranteed to get a good item.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I don't quite understand your beef with this. It's called "hard" for a reason, it's supposed to be hard. It's a level 30 mission. Which means not just 4-5 people should be level 30, all 6 should be level 30. The cheesing allowed you to drag 28's and 29's through (and even a 27 like we did last week), but I guaranteee that's not what Bungie intended for what is supposed to be the hardest feat in the game.
My problem isn't that some of the levels are hard, and I agree that the raid, even on hard isn't a problem with a full crew of 30s. In fact, I love the raid. Both the Oracles/Templar and Gatekeepers/Atheon are among my favorite boss fights ever.
My problem isn't that the game is hard at all. My problem is that the really hard parts are usually hard in the wrong ways:
- Bullet sponge enemies (grind) with spam attacks (boring) and tons of splash damage
- Some missions are more or less impossible without cheesing (thinking of the Nightfall versions of the Moon, Venus and Mars), and that should never happen.

Well doing the Hard Raid is a Catch 22...you really need to be Level 30 to do it or stand a better chance but when you're not getting any Raid armor to reach level 30 it's a bit hard to do. Getting (3) pcs of Raid Armor for a specific character in this game is like drawing three straight flushes in a poker tournament. Just landing one pc of Raid Armor is becoming a chore. They need to increase the chance for Raid Armor period or come up with some alternate method say breaking down x-amount of certain Legendary. You go in and 1-2 hours later end up with your 3rd same type of weapon, another white outfit and handful of shards and energy for the 7th time in 7 weeks...it gets a bit dishearten and another letdown.

Hell, I still don't have raid gloves for my Warlock, and I've had three 30s for over a month.
It's another reason I like Warframe more than Destiny. If I want something in that game, I still have RNG to contend with, but I'm not limited to trying to get it once per goddamn week.

So I've got my raid gear maxed out over the weekend. Just needed to farm for mats and ascendent shards. Have the one final slot on both helmet and chest unfilled.
After the update, do I now need to wait until Xur shows up this weekend to buy this new material so I can finish these off, or breakdown an exotic?
It's like for one thing Bungie does right (reducing the amount of farming for planetary mats) they kind of fuck something else up (final slot of exotic armor).
EDIT: Aaaand never mind. Forgot raid gear wasn't exotic. Carry on.
I still stand by my Bungie's shitty updates comment, although it doesn't apply to me like I thought it did.

Opps, ment to put Nexus
I agree, I wish they would at least give us some credit. Ive broken down at least 10 exotic items, and could really use those shards now.

my wish is that the Nightfall would be combined with the Weekly
(Weekly - levels - Nightfall, 28, 26, 22)
why not just make the Nightfall the hardest difficulty and if you complete it you also get any rewards you would have received for doing the weekly at the highest level (28) as well

Hit 30 today, finally. Decided I didn't need a 2nd Super Good Advice and sharded it.
Since I got Thunderlord earlier this week, I finally have a Leg+ Arch heavy.

In my third Raid this week, I got my 4th Vex Mythoclast. Broke it down for the exotic shard. Used the shard to max out my Plan C. So in the raid, the weapons I have received the most are:
Found Verdict (7 or 8 times)
Vex Mythoclast (4)
Hezen Vengeance (4)
Still no chest for my Titan or boots for the other two. I did get the Hunter cloak finally. Still lack the Titan toilet paper. Never got the normal raid ship. I think that's all I'm missing from the raid now.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Since some of you had already done 3 raids before the sun came up this morning, I had to find a different crowd to run with this afternoon.
It was frustrating to say the least since most of us weren't used to playing together, learning new strategies for the Templar, and slightly underpowered (only 3 level 30's), but we still managed to get 3 hard raids done.
And those guys actually brought me a little bit of luck so I'm not complaining. In the 3 runs, I managed to score a few items that I've been wanting for a long, long time... Hawkmoon, Fatebringer, and finally (and I mean FINALLY) a helmet for my warlock which will get him to level 30. I can't even describe how relieved I was when that popped up on the screen. It'll be obsolete in a week but I really don't care at this point.
All I have left to do for the week is just bounties and level up my new stuff, so I'll gladly help out if anyone needs an extra for a raid or nightfall or whatever.

ok night of Nightfalls

MIDA Multi-Tool (passed on it when Xur sold it)
Crest of Alpha Lupi for my Titan (already have The Armamentarium)

I'm curious, do you happen to have one of those legendary emblems from the speaker equipped? A guy I was playing with yesterday was convinced that they give you better items. I've read on other forums that "Bungie" has stated that they do not have hidden perks, but this person was pretty adamant that they do. And I'm starting to believe him after some of the stuff I saw yesterday.
One of the guys bought an emblem before the raid, equipped it, and managed to score (in one run): Preatorian Foil (after the oracles), Fatebringer and chest armor (from the Templar), Hawkmoon (from the gorgon maze chest), Mythoclast and helmet (from Atheon). Luckiest run I have ever seen. Pretty crazy coincidence that he had just bought the emblem beforehand. I don't know, I had a pretty good haul myself without having the emblem... but it was spread across 3 different characters. He scored all that in 1 run. I always thought Motes of Light for an emblem was a little pricey. Maybe they do actually do something.

Wow, 3 exotics?!? That's damn lucky whether you needed/wanted those items or not. I've gotten 1 exotic in about 25 nightfalls.

Well on other forums there's just as many people who think they don't do anything. I don't know. I'm thinking that's just the nature of RNG. When someone gets lucky, people try to come up with reasons to make sense of it.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

Anyway, he wanted to test a theory he had after we did the third Raid. Before we did Atheon the third time, he switched into a character he used earlier, then what he wanted to do was have us run Atheon a 4th time with our group, but with the character he switched out of the third run.
His theory was that if there's only one character that will be getting prizes, they will be rewarded well for it. And at times I've seen that, like gooter getting a Gjallarhorn in a Nightfall last week. Anyway, we did the 4th Atheon fight, and my buddy got his first Epilogue after weeks of trying, the helmet, and a Mythoclast I believe.
Might have just been pure luck, but it paid off. I liken it to the Lottery, and when the jackpots climb there's a liquor store in the area that gets a line out the door since they've had several winners over the years.
