Winter release?

Question on the light level on Rare drops....

We were doing the forge yesterday and I'm at 383. We got a ton of stuff after 1.5hrs in. When I got back to the Tower I saw I had two Rare artifacts but one was at 386 and one at 388. I thought the Rares were capped? I know the ones you get the Cryptarch are at 365 but are the ones that drop in Strikes, Forge, or even CoE can go higher?

....and what are the legendary capped at...385?

Engrams are capped. Drops are not engrams. Artifacts, ghosts and class items in the forge go up to 400. They're using blue artifacts in the Forge. I got a 396 blue artifact from the forge last night.

Heroic strikes go up to 385.

Stuff you get from POE is still going to be capped at 365 for the sigil and 390 for Variks rank up. Blue engrams always stop at 365 max now. Purple goes to 385.

Thanks Scott...I have all three up to 385 now and trying to figure out next move as to what to shoot for. And like you I have got some higher items above 385 like class armor, ghosts and artifacts. I was just wondering more on Legendary drops...armor and weapons.... if any go above 385 and where?

So it sounds like, my choices of getting higher gear...armor and weapons...is somewhat limited now with the Factions, Vanguard and Varkis.

.....so I assume it's time for me to try the Raid...which I still have avoided any videos or cheat sheets. Anything or anywhere else I'm missing for 358 and above gear?

normal (non heroic) raid gear caps at 385
you should have been running it already

there are chests in the raid that you have a chance of getting an exotic out of that can exceed that cap based on your light level

if you aren't interested in running the raid and only progressing your light level (?) you can run normal SIVA strike playlist to try and get skeleton key drops (pretty rare) then I would use the following list to run those strikes from the director that will yield armor/weapons starting with your lowest level gear keeping in mind none of the chests opened with a skeleton key can yield a leg armor, chest armor, or a ghost

I think Buzz is waiting until he's up to 400LL, just to be on the safe side.

Also Buzz, if you have the Dark Drinker exotic sword quest, make sure you complete it. That sword melts the final boss and is useful in other phases as well.

yea...those Skeleton keys are indeed rare....only two so far and I found a site listing what chests at what location can possibly drop xyz item...which I was going to ask about in regards which pcs are above the others.

Yesterday I got a 388 Fusion rifle from the gunsmith and still getting some pcs from Factions and Vanguard 1-3 spots over. I have about (5) Exotic armor and (6) exotic weapons still in the stash...got that Rapid Fire Arc damage pistol Xur had about to weeks ago come in at 388

OK folks, gold and I have now finished the raid on hard.

So that's 100% of the trophies, Rank 24 in the book, and a 395 Hunter.

Some thoughts about hard mode:

Honestly, it's not as bad as one might think. As usual on hard mode, staying alive is the most important thing. But even that can be overcome. That being said we ran with 3 Warlocks

The Vosik battle is tough. With everyone throwing bombs, and the need to coordinate the throws it can get hectic and add control becomes difficult, especially for those getting the bombs close to the front. Most of our deaths came from this. Vosik is probably the toughest part of the raid now, with all the changes.

Don't try to shadestep under the doors to the panic room. Trust me on that...

Doing damage to the boss is no longer a primary concern. I was shocked to see just how much damage we did after each round to Vosik and Aksis. You'll see that in the video for Aksis.

Getting the Siege Engine done in the time limit is not that hard. You'll see in the video just how many mistakes were made and we still did it in 5:14.

First phase of Aksis isn't too bad. Just make sure you pay attention to the turrets and keep them shut down as much as possible.

For part 2 of Aksis, you have to be a bit faster with the cannons and throws. There's 9 servitors and you need 7 hits to take his shield. Other than that, it's the same fight.

There's going to be two videos for this one. The first is being readied right now, and will cover the siege engine part. The lesson you should take from it is to never give up.

Part two is going to be the Aksis final battle. It's actually the exact opposite of what happened in part 1, at least in terms of my part. But it's still a clutch finish and more reason to keep the fight going.

from what little I have read the raid chest piece is essential if you have it for hard mode to take half damage when carrying the SIVA charge

I would assume the Jolder's artifact removing sprint cooldown would be helpful as well in making it into the safe rooms

The chest helps, but the real danger is after you throw the charge. The best advice is for the people in the front to run to the back before throwing to try and avoid as much danger as possible. I started doing that in the middle and it felt safer.

I don't think Jolder's artifact would be all that useful, but it wouldn't hurt. I put my Silimar's Artifact up to 399, as it does help on Aksis part 2 to cut damage in the SIVA clouds. Skorri is also always helpful.

I even did some testing of Radegast's artifact which gives you more sword ammo. But it doesn't give you the extra on ammo synth so it's use is limited. Plus it's only like 20 extra anyway.

Finishing the Festival of the lost quest from Eva also gets you one of those packages. So you have 3 possible chances at it that way.

Yeah, I am just assuming that those 3 packages are going to be useless like last year when I wanted the blue flaming skull mask.

edit: well the first free package was a skolas mask I kept from last year... 4 more tries.

The whole candy gathering process is pointless this year since you don't get any paper masks.

I went into the Forge last night to wrap up one bounty and got a 390 Rare artifact..... Had a Rare turn into a 389 Exotic Thunderlord. Just keep chomping away.....

I went to the Forge to try to get a new ghost which was a failure. I also almost blew up two rare artifact upgrades as I assumed they were 365. I am a bit surprised that you aren't guaranteed an item when you do the forge. I put in a perfect and got nothing.
