Yeah, I have been doing bounties, it just really is a grind. I tried the level 24 strike with two other random 24s and we got slaughtered so many times at the end boss. I then lost my connection so it was a good two hours with nothing to show for it, haha.

Trust me and others who have already said this, stay out of the strikes for now. Those are inefficient and frustrating if you get in a bad group. Yes it is boring but the most efficient way to level are public events, bounties, patrols.

Why can't they have more than 3 person groups on these? Infuriating!!!

OK Folks, it was brought to my attention last week that I may have been a little hard on Xur for his offerings. So I am going to try and make amends this week by saying that Xur's deals do not suck balls, dick or ass this week. In fact, I'd say this week's deals are halfway decent, and include an item that he has never sold before.
So here we go with the next to last Xur 2.0 Report. Two weeks from now Xur 3.0 will debut with hopefully an item or two from the House Of Wolves. And hopefully for the final week of 2.0, I'll have something to report that involves a wolfpack. Until then, I offer this week's deals.
Xur is located in North Tower, In front of the big ass door across from the speaker.

For the Titan, it's Ruin Wings for the second week in a row. Much better roll than he offered last week.
For the Hunter, it's the ATS/8 Arachnid Helmet. Decent roll for a crappy helmet.
For the Warlock, it's the Obsidian Mind Helmet. Great roll on an awesome helmet.
The engram this week is for helmets.
The telemetries this week are: Pulse/Fusion/Rocket Launchers
The weapon this week is the Thunderlord Machine Gun. This is it folks, the final item that Xur has never sold (that he can sell). It's a decent weapon, and some would say it's the second best Exotic heavy weapon (albeit a distant second). But it's worth owning. Sounds great, looks great, shoots great.
You can see the upgrades there. Most of the rolls are pretty good this week (other than Skull Of Dire Ahamkara). Third Man has a great roll.
And that will be that. Next week will be the final Xur Report with an upgrade segment, and as I said before, hopefully he'll make some people really happy.

So thanks to cruzness and gooter for dragging me through the weekly last night. I finally have enough strange coins to buy some armor from Xur to help my level 24 hunter out.
So I go to Xur this morning to buy something cool and find out that every helmet he is selling requires The Dark Below.
Should I wait until next week or is TDB requirement for Xur items pretty common now?
If I buy the engram is there a chance it downgrades to something below exotic? Or something for a different class? That would make me mad too, haha.

I think I still have around 50 or so strange coins, so I'll hop on and grab the Thunderlord. If there are enough people on and enough interest, I wouldn't mind running VOG hard.

This probably goes against what I told you last night, but save your coins. Gold is right, that Hunter helmet isn't special. Since you don't have many coins to begin with, no harm in waiting one more week.
Also, thanks to Sooner and Cruz. I'm a proud owner of Thorn. I now have 2 exotics I'd never thought I'd get... Thorn and Bad JuJu. Now on to Invective! (probably not

Grabbed a Thunderlord. Pretty sure it was the only exotic (other than PVP quests) that I didn't have...and I have to spend those coins on something...eventually.
The Destiny icon had been pushed into the library on my PS4. Guess it's been a while.
Might stack up some bounties this weekend just to be ready for whatever.

Re: Bungie - Destiny

So I guess by this twisted logic, Destiny has more weapon variety than Borderlands??? Ummmmmm, no. Hell no. Good lord, put down the Bungie shard pipe, no.
Consider for a moment that every non-exotic "weapon type" in Destiny uses the same model...even the raid guns. They actually made some nice models (Suros, Hard Light, Monte Carlo, Ice Breaker), but then they made the dumbass mistake of only using those models on exotics when they could have used them for variety on raid guns at a minimum and probably some green and blue guns as well.

Almost missed this. "Weapon types"

See, I don't need to smoke the Destiny pipe because I don't have to justify why I still play it.
I never said Destiny has more variety, it just has more weapon types. But if you want to come right down to it, the "billions of weapons" in Borderlands are BS. About the only thing that made them different was the in game company that made them, and whatever difference in stats you got from one to the other. But much like in Destiny, most of the guns sucked, and you held out for the purple, orange and pearlecents with perfect perks. Sound familiar?
If you used more than 5 or 6 guns, maybe you'd see the variety that does exist. Sorry, but the New Monarchy and Dead Orbit shotguns look nothing alike, and neither look like the Found Verdict or Swordbreaker. The Fatebringer looks very little like Red Hand IX or even Word Of Crota. The Murmur looks like no other fusion, and just about every sniper I have looks significantly different than the other ones. The Abyss Defiant doesn't really look like Atheon's Epilogue, and no, I'm not just talking about the hive skin on it.
But again, you're the expert here...you know, since you use so many weapons in the game.

congrats Goot and I assume Cruz as well for aquiring Thorn
still easily one of my favorite and most fun weapons in the game .... not practical to use in all situations but great in the Crucible and to run patrols with
will wait to hear back from you once you unlock Mark Of The Devourer
and Chess, I believe this is one of those weapons you don't have (because you didn't want to complete the Crucible element) though you helped me with the Xyor portion of it back when .... it is a unique enough weapon you should spend some time working to aquire if/when you get the exotic bounty again ... I'm sure Gooter and Cruz can testify that the requirements and quest to get it weren't as bad as they originally thought

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Yeah, that was kind of my assessment with all of the quest guns. They didn't seem all that great, and the ones that looked ok seemed to only be ok in PVP. So it would be like playing a mode I had no interest in just to get a gun that's useful only in the mode I had no interest in.
FWIW, I did the two (?) PVE only quest guns and thought they were both pretty terrible.
It also didn't help that at the time I only had 5 bounty slots.
Not ignoring you Scott. Glad you got a pistol. Disagree that the guns in Destiny have any real variety, particularly compared to similar games. I'll just throw out the Sputtering Spitter as one example of something creative and different that doesn't look or play like any other weapon of its "type", and you can get variations of it from green to orange.

For some reason they removed the spawn points for them. To complete those bounties you can drop into the Fist of Crota mission. Once you kill the first knight return to orbit, rinse and repeat. You can get the two bounties done (kill 3 Knights, kill 15 hive with the sword) in about 5 minutes.
