As far as I am concerned the hardest part of that bounty is the level 26 Summoning Pits where you can't kill Phogoth and have to whittle down his health in order to get the 3 Ships to spawn.

The Crucible element was easy to complete running control and controlling the maps. I completed one during Iron Banner and my 2nd one was mostly done through IB however I quickly finished it out during vanilla crucible.

I've gotten a bunch of husks in that mission.

Got back from my vacation in time to get Thunderlord, now all I need is Hawkmoon and to finsih Torn and Ill have all the exotic weapons. Gotta decide if I want to grind the Nightfalls/weeklys this week

I finished the urn quest today and only ended up with some lower level gloves. What's up with that bullshit?

Stacked 10 bounties on everybody today, and did some weeklies to see how the matchmaking went. The trick, I've found, is to put all of your 32 gear on for matchmaking and then switch to whatever you're leveling.

Can't believe I'm even thinking this, but if anybody wants to run a few nightfalls, I'm down. It seems like a pretty easy one with all of the burns.

With rainbow burn they are very easy. Ice, Cruz, and I ran all three in less than an hour.

Also, they look exactly the same as the ones you get from Crota's End. Well, almost. They're all missing one shoulder pad.

Knocked out those Nightfalls this morning, trying to be a good sport. Got two things: jack and sh....ards. Done till HoW.

Finally got my Vanguard rank up to 2 so I go to buy some cool stuff and finally increase my light level. Only half the stuff is open for me to buy...I wonder why. Hmm, rank 2 + vanguard commendation.

So I look up Vanguard commendation......really? Why not just make the gear level 3 fuckers.


Anyway, I bought some gauntlets that brought me to level 25 and I can buy the gloves once I get 8 more credits and that should get me to level 26.

So at least I should be able to do better raids at 26. Can I get into VoG or is that level 28?

Destiny in a nutshell.

You can do VoG at 26, but I think I'd skip VoG and go straight to CE. The armor in CE has a higher drop rate (at least it seems that way to me) and you get it at a much higher base light level. It's also a much shorter/easier raid IMO. Just keep cranking out bounties/dailies/weeklies and use Vanguard armor to get to 28.

Then come back to VoG later and get that Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence and Vex Mythoclast.

Well folks, here it is. The Final Xur 2.0 Report, brought to you by Exotic Rocket Launchers. Be it wolfpack rounds, solar flares or extremely aggressive tracking, Destiny has a yellow rocket launcher to suit your needs. And this is now version 2.0 of this particular Xur Report, reflecting the changes made earlier today with the patch.

If you need a helmet, Xur offers one for every class. If you need an exotic Rocket Launcher...OK, who am I kidding? This week, Xur becomes the ultimate troll.

Xur is located in North Tower, way at the end of the walkway, past the Speaker.



I'll break tradition this week and start with this week's weapon: It's The Truth. Wow. I mean, it's not a bad weapon, and is quite fun to use in Crucible with its tracking and proximity circuit, but if there was ever a week to whip out the one who shall not be named, this was it.

As for the rest (UPDATE: The patch altered Xur's inventory, changing the rolls on everything):

For the Titan, it's An Insurmountable Skullfort Helmet. Decent helmet for Crota, but an absolutely solid roll. Yes, now it has a great roll!

For the Hunter, it's the Knucklehead Radar helmet. Gives you third eye on all primary weapons, but is well behind the third man mask and symbiote helmets. Am I the only one that thinks the third man mask should have had the third eye perk? Anyway, now this helmet has a shit roll, so if you bought it, I hope it was pre-patch.

For the Warlock, it's the Apothoesis Veil helmet. Again, another good helmet for Crota. Medicore roll, but not much worse than earlier today.

The engram this week is for gauntlets. Save your motes for next week.

Telemetries are Auto Rifle/Pulse/Hand Cannon. Fusion and Machine gun disappeared. The gunsmith will start selling these next week.

As you can see, the trolling didn't stop at offering Truth. The final upgrade group includes the weapon that shall not be named, as one last middle finger to all of you (well, killer I guess at this point) who still lack it.

Don't both upgrading weapons anymore, wait for next week. The decent upgrades here is the Alpha Lupi for the Hunter, Alpha Lupi for Titan, and Praxic Fire for Warlock. No Backup Plans also have a great roll, but it's a shit item

And that is that. Next week Xur will be back with Version 3.0. Known changes:

The upgrade section will be removed, being replaced by Ascending our own exotic gear. Shards will be needed for this, and will still be sold by Xur.

Xur will allow you to exchange Strange Coins for Motes Of Light. Exchange Rate is unknown, but I'm guessing 1 for 1.

Xur will have new items to sell, and hopefully at least 1 next week.

As mentioned above, don't buy the exotic engram this week, next week the engram will include the new exotics, giving you a shot at something new.

Xur may not show up in the tower, there's a possibility he could appear in the Reef instead. I would expect that next week would be a good way to make him debut there.

Anyway, that's it. Fuck Xur and Bungie for the ultimate troll week. And a double middle finger for making me revise this damn report by changing everything!

You're correct that this would have been a great time to get people re-engaged with a G-horn sale (and maybe sell some extra DLC), but Bungie either doesn't know or doesn't care about sustaining community engagement. I guess they are counting on the PVP for that.

Meanwhile, other games are predictably giving away some cool stuff right before the Destiny expansion to keep people engaged.

You guys are crazy if you expected them to sell the Gjallarhorn right before HOW drops. They are saving that shit in hopes to sell some DLC down the line. And is ONE weapon really enough to bring people back to this game? I think not. We'll see if there is enough re-playable content come Tuesday. I really wish Bungie would release some updated player stats. I'm curious what their average player count is and how long those people are even playing.

I looked at Scott's post, saw the exotic launcher item for sale in the pic, and got excited for a split second. Bungie can go eat a big bag of dicks.

Tell me if I'm nuts for thinking this, but I only see two scenarios in which Bungie would allow Xur to sell Gjallarhorn again:

• House of Wolves (or Comet, or...) introduces a new weapon that's immensely powerful, very alluring, and very rare, basically making Gjallarhorn old news (the idea being that part of Gjallarhorn's appeal is that so few people have it)
• Interest wanes somewhat, and Gjallarhorn is sold to give Destiny a shot in the arm (there was a spike with Ice Breaker, right?)

The Gjallarhorn really isn't that rare. I've seen dozens of them drop for other people, have two myself, and I think most everybody here has at least one by now. So for most people, Xur selling it would just be a matter of the convenience of having three.

But I also know a lot of people who don't have the stomach for hardcore farming for one weapon, and they just left the game entirely. A Ghorn sale would be just the thing to renew their interest. But I guess they are sticking to Xur's randomization, and I sort of respect that, but it seems to me that Xur offering something exciting the weekend before a major update would make good business sense.
