I had the same issue. I started a hunter at lvl 26, ran the strike at 26, both other players ran into phogoths room one was a 31 the other was a 28, nether one had any arc weapons needless to say they died very quickly. It took forever sniping with p&t by my self

I did a weekly with randoms this week. One of the guys stayed on his sparrow and actually killed me with it. It's not the first time I've ran into shit like that.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Yeah, my experience in public matchmaking has been a pretty mixed bag as well now that I think about it. Fair enough. I did a weekly yesterday, and on the first run, I had to bail pretty quickly because the incompetence was evident. An in game LFG message board would go a long way IMO.
Re: Borderlands. Agree that it has a similar inventory design if played as intended, but you've always been able to duplicate your guns, so it was never an issue. And the vault in BL is a per character vault, so there's no flying back and forth or using an app to swap stuff. Duplication takes a few minutes, but it's a one time thing.
Did two normal Crota runs yesterday from LFG. Might have been dumb luck, but it seems like it's getting harder to find a game. Got my third Hunger of Crota, so I now have 3 of every Crota weapon.

Ran my new hunter through the nf this morning 10 coins. Nac and Joe pulled my hunter through Crota nm yesterday got no armor just shards unfortunately, max out gunslinger and got the trophy, only 3 more to go. Titan, Salvage, and clan raid. Think I will wait until HoW drops to delete my second warlock and great a titan. Don't want to waste all those marks.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Some nice changes in the weekly update
This week at Bungie, we’re dancing ever closer to the House of Wolves.
The next expansion for Destiny is something we’re really looking forward to talking about. This month, there will come a day when we’ll reveal a release date for the trials that await you, with a whole reef of details soon to follow – but it is not this day.
First, we have more work to do on the version of the game you’re playing now. Update 1.1.2 has been a topic for conversation between us and you for weeks now. Ever since we published an inventory of what we’re packing into the download, we’ve been itemizing the list with more information about the contents. Today, we’re talking about the things we’ve been doing to refine PVE activities:
Raid Fixes – There are times when Atheon and Crota can be uncooperative, so we’re tackling their worst bugs.
Strikes – The numbers tell us that there are some missions that are successfully completed far less often than others, inspiring us to look at why people quit.
Every Boss answers to someone. Read on to meet the people who are improving their performance.
Winners Never Quit
We’ve said many times that Destiny is never finished. We’ll keep updating it, polishing it, revising it, and pushing its boundaries until you pry it from our cold, dead… You get the idea. For some time now, our team has been working to improve upon some of the most elaborate (and challenging) encounters for your team.
First, we’ll talk about the fixes planned for Raids. Given their complexity, revising the way they work can be painstaking.
Senior Designer Gavin Irby has his sights set on refining the endgame.
GI: The Raids are living content for us. We play every week and experience them in the same ways as any other player. In 1.1.2, we have an opportunity to make some targeted fixes. We prioritized a list of items based on community feedback and tried to hit the ones that have been the most important to players. In particular, we wanted to improve the Atheon and Crota boss encounters. They’re challenging enough without the game getting in your way.
Activities Engineer Sean Chan is wielding the sword that kills the bugs.
SC: Fixing bugs for the Raid is most challenging in two ways: figuring out went wrong and devising a safe way to fix it that won’t break the rest of the game. The Raids have some of the most edge-casey content in the game, so the bugs can get really tricky. For example, we had a bug where players weren’t doing damage to Minotaurs with the Relic shield. Turns out that the complicated hit test we use to detect a melee hit just missed the combatant because of the long-legged shape of its body. Some of these bugs were truly baffling, but we dug deep and went to great lengths to improve things.
That’s just one bug that Sean has wrestled with. You’ll learn about all the rest of them in the Patch Notes, coming soon. Next, let’s look at how we’re changing the way Strikes play out. Some are harder to complete than others. To create a better standard for the way these cooperative missions challenge a Fireteam, we’re issuing new walking (and fighting) orders to the Bosses.
User Research Lead John Hopson has the data to inform our process.
JH: The Cerberus Vae III Strike is arguably the longest and hardest Strike in the game. It has one the lowest completion rates of any of the Strikes. Even when players complete it successfully, it takes longer than almost any other Strike activity at 27 minutes on Normal difficulty. When it’s appeared as the Nightfall, it’s actually had the lowest completion rate of any Strike activity in the game. The Dust Palace Strike isn’t quite as hard, but it still takes longer to complete successfully than the average Strike at 23 minutes on Normal difficulty.
Production Engineer Brenton Woodrow is putting that data into practice, like a boss.
BW: Our goal was to ease the difficulty for the least-completed strikes. In order to do this, we focused on the final boss encounters, which were fairly lengthy on higher tiers. We addressed this by reducing the strength for several of the major combatants. We also felt that the bosses themselves could use some tweaking. We reduced Valus Ta’Aurc’s health by a third and reduced the Psion Flayers’ shields by about 15%. We locked these changes after several playtests with the designers and feel that they bring these encounters in line with the rest of the Strikes.
These changes will arrive in a couple of weeks. We’ll be interested to hear what you think after you’ve had the chance to experience them for yourselves.
Quitters Never Win
While finessing a boss encounter is all well and good, you won’t appreciate the difference unless you actively participate in the Strike. That might make all the sense in the world to you, but there are players in our world who prefer to hang out in the rear with the gear and let their Fireteam brave all the danger.
Once again, John Hopson is on the case. User Research, after all, is all about the science of improving the player experience.
JH: In Destiny’s community, the efforts of a dedicated player can have a huge impact on the experience of hundreds or thousands of other players. Most of the time, this is awesome. When someone is willing to put in the time as a Raid sherpa, a clan leader, or a forum moderator, we all benefit and Destiny comes a little bit closer to its potential as a shared world.
Unfortunately, there are a few individuals who have put in that same level of monomaniacal effort into being jerks. Sitting idle in Strikes and PvP has been on our radar for a while now, but it’s become clear that a small number of the worst idlers are responsible for damaging the experiences of thousands of other players. One player not contributing in an activity might seem like a small thing, but it can make a Weekly Heroic Strike unbeatable or make a Crucible match unwinnable. Those little bits of damage to the experiences other players adds up over time.
This week, we’ve restricted a small number of the most toxic players from matchmaking. The restrictions we’re putting on their accounts are temporary and apply only to the activities where they were chronically idle. If the affected players keep up this behavior after the restrictions lapse, we will apply stronger and (eventually) permanent restrictions on their accounts.
How this policy applies to you:
1) It probably doesn’t. Do not panic just because you had to put down the controller in a Strike last week when the pizza guy showed up just as your fireteam reached Valus Ta'aurc. There is no way you will accidentally be flagged under this policy unless you are a truly dedicated idler, someone who has really gone out their way to repeatedly cheat their teammates.
2) Please be sure to use the reporting system to let us know how your teammates are affecting your Destiny experience, both positively and negatively. We will never act on player reports alone, but we use those reports to find areas and individuals where our automated detection systems aren’t working correctly. They are an invaluable part of how we tune the live experience of our game.
The feedback loop is real, Guardians. Access their Details on the Roster page and satisfy your appetite for Justice. Don’t feel bad about snitching. A community that self-polices creates a safe place for us all to play. The power is in your hands, so please wield it!
We’re watching, and we’re at the ready to take action in many ways to make Destiny better.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
OK, so here we go with the Week 30 Xur Report. Hope you like crap!
There's really no other way to spin this week's selection. It's like Bungie wanted to honor Xur's 30th arrival by putting up a selection of mostly crap (or crap rolls). So after a few weeks of there being at least something compelling to purchase, we get this.
Xur is located in North Tower, way at the end of the walkway past the speaker.

For the Titan, it's the Glasshouse helmet. OK, this one is decent, and has a decent roll of 118. It's the only thing here that can say that.
For the Hunter, it's the Don't Touch Me Gauntlets. Obviously, these are decent, and perfect for Crota. But the roll here is a terrible 83. If you don't have them, I guess you could buy something worse.
For the Warlock, you can't buy something much worse. It's Sunbreakers! And they have a terrible roll of 85! So, shit gear and shit roll. Move along.
The engram this week is chest. I believe me007gold will be happy with that.
Heavy ammo is available...again.
This week's telemetries: Pulse, Fusion, and Rocket Launcher.
The weapon this week is crap. Not only that, it's a slap in the face to Obey the D and musick, who had to watch Gooter land 3 exotics in 3 nightfalls, including his second Gjallarhorn. It's Dragon's Breath! Blah blah blah looks cool, blah blah blah no tracking, blah blah blah useless.
This week's Upgrades:
For the Hunter, it's the Achlyophage Symbiote Helmet and Lucky Raspberry chest. The helmet has an excellent roll of 127, while the chest is a low 130.
For the Titan, it's the Crest Of Alpha Lupi Chest and No Backup Plans Gauntlets. The Chest is an excellent 159, the gauntlets a terrible 86.
For the Warlock it's the Apothoesis Veil helmet and Sunbreakers. The Veil is a low 100 and the Sunbreakers are again a crappy roll of 86.
Weapons:
Bad Juju
MIDA Multi-Tool
Thorn
Patience & Time
Thunderlord
Super Good Advice
So there we go. 30 weeks of Xur, 22 weeks of crap.

Indeed I was happy with the chest engram. Really wish motes were added to the nf loot table, I seem to be running a bit low. I am down to 102 now. Bought 3 chests engrams, ended up with Lucky Raspberry + 151 intellect, HoTPF(This is like my 4th one too) + 169 discipline, and Armamentariun +147 Discipline. Also picked up don't touch me.

Of course they'd sneak in one last NF with the old McDickface.
And no burns either. Joy.
And damn gold, that's a hell of roll you got on all those chests. My Praxic Fire is 132! I do have slightly better versions of the other two, but all of those are really good rolls. And I think that means you can get your Hunter to 32.

The nf and weekly seem like a huge fuck you to the players. Hey we know no one likes this strikes and we are going to make changes to make it better, but here fuck you no burns on either.
Indeed it does. Should be there by the end of the day, 2.5 nodes left

Well F@#$ that then. Next weeks Nightfall is like walking though glass barefoot and then sprinkling some lemon juice and ghost pepper sauce on your feet afterwards. I may actually make an effort to finish the weekly and Nightfall this week. Heck is anyone looking to at least get up the the chests on the Crota Raid late tonight? I might be down for that at least.
As for Xur I bought the Achliophage Symbiote last week but I will upgrade it this week. Roll on it last week was like 86. I will also upgrade the Crest of Alpha Lupi chest for my Titan since the old Roll was like 127. More heavy ammo and telemitries i guess.

Yep. Still nothing at all about HoW, no update on when 1.1.2 will drop. Special ammo will drop less often, take longer to pick up, and the bricks will give you less ammo.

This week's Xur Report is brought to you by the Gjallarhorn. When you absolutely positevely need to lay waste to every last enemy in your sights, accept no substitutes! Pick up your Gjallarhorn today from Ir Yut, Atheon, Crota or Rockets McDickface.*
For those hoping that our sponsor this week was a clue, I wrote it at 1:58AM. Who knows, maybe it'll be lucky. And it is! Xur is offering the Gjallarhorn this week!**
*Assuming you have good luck
**For upgrade (sorry)
Xur is located in the Tower Hangar, just right of the stairs. And about all I can is, meh.

For the Titan it's The Armamentarium chest. Second Grenade, more special and Heavy ammo. I used it quite a bit in the old days. This one has a poor roll.
For the Hunter, it's the ATS/8 Arachnid Helmet. Last time Xur offered it, it was one of the worst exotic rolls of all time. This time around, it's got one of the highest rolls. Still a crap piece though.
For the Warlock, it's Starfire Protocol. If you have the Praxic Fire, why would you ever use this? It's a decent roll though.
Heavy Ammo is available...again.
The engram this week is Chest
The telemetries are Pulse, Hand Cannon & Machine Gun
The weapon this week is...the SUROS Regime. Still a decent weapon even after all the nerfs. But just about everyone I know has one or doesn't want it.
Upgrades:
For the Hunter, it's the Mask Of The Third Man Helmet (123) and Crest Of Alpha Lupi Chest (167). Both have really good rolls.
For the Titan, it's the Helm Of Saint-14 (121) and Crest Of Alpha Lupi (133) chest. The Helmet roll is a good one, the chest, not so much.
For the Warlock, it's the Light Beyond Nemesis Helmet (95) and Sunbreakers (105). Both rolls are low.
Weapons (Does anyone even still have old 300 Exotics?):
Red Death
The Last Word
Plan C
Thunderlord
Super Good Advice
Gjallarhorn (FUCK YOU XUR!)
So there we go. Week 31 is in the books. I bought the Arachnid again, and still have over 300 coins.
