You joke, but in case anybody doesn't know already, if you reach level 3 in the SRL, the helmets drop in the 310-320 range. It also drops Class items. And they drop OFTEN!!! Seems like every 3rd or 4th race I'm getting a helmet or a mark. People bitch about Oryx never dropping high level helmets. Well now you can get one every 20 minutes or so. And if you don't want them, infuse them into something you actually use.

Also the amount of legendary marks I'm getting is ridiculous. Yesterday I spent over 100 legendary marks on materials because I was maxed out. I'm already back up to 200 because I just keep breaking down legendary gear from the racing. Honestly, every 3-4 races I get a legendary item.

Also 3oC works in SRL too, so if you burn one you have a chance at an exotic when the race ends.

kind of getting bored of SRL already but may be up for continuing to hit rank 3 and get the higher level stuff

certainly don't need anymore legendary marks at the time as I still stand maxed on them with little of interest to purchase

Yep, I figured that would be the case. Nice to know for certain. Means I can continue to focus on SRL. Finished the quest on my Hunter, and got the horn kit. So you're not assured a new sparrow unless you complete the other quest. It is nice to have a permanent horn that isn't happy ;)

A sparrow can drop from the horn kit if you're lucky.

I also completed the first part of Jolly Holliday on my Hunter. I forgot about that donation you have to make.

Early reports on Oryx challenge mode is detonating all 16 orbs at once, which will pretty much eliminate the "no knight" strategy if you try it in hard mode. Praise jesus. I said long ago in one of these threads that method was total crap.

Two titans on the platforms with Blessing bubbles using TOM to blast ogres, kill knights, leave orbs. Rinse and repeat 4 times.

OK, I did save the video from our successful run on Oryx. Uploading it as I write this.

In some ways, I actually like this method more than a typical method of doing the final battle. You're relying on the fact that you get the ogres down as quick as they spawn, and one mistake will likely mean a wipe, but it takes away the need to detonate the bombs every round. On hard, it eliminates the no knight method, which I wasn't much a fan of.

On normal, this will be even easier to pull off since you don't even have to worry about knights. The negatives are mostly based on glitches like the orbs not triggering properly or not dropping at all for some reason. If any of that happens, it's a wipe, which sucks.

Anyhoo, here's the video of our successful run(or this will be the video in a few minutes). I was one of the Titans playing from the daughters platform so you can see how that role is done.

Later on we did another run where I did the jumping. I did just fine, and we got to the final phase a couple of times. But we were screwed by an orb or two that didn't show up or detonate.

Indeed. Once we run the NF 20 times per character we should have all 3. Then we can move on to the Raid.

If anyone is looking to boost another character to level 25, you can now buy one for $30. Kinda crazy that they would charge that much for it. But I guess if that allows them to add some free content here and there (like the sparrow racing), I feel a little better about it.

You know they have crunched some numbers on what they could charge to buy some exotic weapons. But the better question is if they would ever implement it or not.

@ Scott - That video was badass - Digging that technigue for taking down Oryx - why aren't we trying that when going after Oryx.... and is ToM absolutely necessary?
