Chess....."No need to farm helium. Just buy it with Vanguard Marks."
I'm actually at this point which months ago would've considered myself an idiot for doing it. I bought "100" Iron...yes, five packs of 20 Iron at 10 Vanguard points each. At least I can use it versus spending 75 Points for a piece of Armor that you'll turn around and break down right away getting Ascendant Shards that as of now I have 140+ of and I don't have any use for.

I think No Land Beyond wouldn't be so bad if you could equip it as a secondary or primary, and they took out the lens flare effect, since there are no scopes on the gun, how does it have a lens flare. It still wouldn't be a great weapon, but it would be better. The fact that you are forced to waste you primary slot for this makes it unusable.

Credit to meatpants. I didn't even know buying mats was an option. He was running a daily with me the other day, which I told him I was running for the 16 spinmetal, and he said "I'm surprised you aren't just buying it for Vanguard Marks.

Interesting find
Blessing Of Light bubble + Armor Of Light bubble can save you from the oversoul

not sure how practical this actually is and still will drain most of your health
wonder if it was tried during enrage

Found a new definition of...BullSh*t.....
1 - You run a Nightfall hoping to get something good and end up with a No Land Beyond
2 - You look forward a whole week to Xur selling something good and he has a No Land Beyond
3 - You run a Crota Raid in hopes of getting something really good and you get No Land Beyond
...all within five days...

Some promising info from Luke Smith, one of the lead designers/programmers
No it won't.
Nothing specific to announce at this time, but the mistakes we made with the DLC1 reward economy will not be repeated:
Mistakes like:
Vendor gear invalidating the effort of VOG Raiders
Upgrading an Exotic reseting its talents
Our philosophy about rewards/loot continue to evolve as we see how players play and react.
We will continue to improve acquisition stories and frequency (My understanding of the perception is that Crota's End drop rates are much improved vs. Vault of Glass: footnote below), lessen the grind and get players to the fun parts of their arsenal faster.
On CE drop rates vs. VOG:
The Forever 29 meme was a killer for us.
We sat down and talked about the rewards for VoG and the rates vs. CE and ended up with the following:
increase drop rates globally in CE: we wanted dedicated players to be around 32 or real close by the time Hard mode came out.
increase the variability of perks that a given piece can roll.
the goal here: players would reach 32 easier than 30, but would have more customization and options to build the perfect set (in terms of stats, perks, weapon affinities)
The part where this didn't work as well as we'd hoped is with the Shard economy. Shards are a are a barrier between you and equipping a sweet new piece of gear.
We want fewer barriers to equipping upgrades. The shard economies erect these barriers between players and the new piece of gear they just got.
We're not intending to adjust the shard economy for this Tier -- we don't want to invalidate player effort (again). But removing the barrier between that new drop you're excited to get and actually being able to equip it as a member of your arsenal are something we will do going forward.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
All mistakes that shouldn't have been made in the first place. I mean, we're talking about some really obvious shit here.
I personally know a dude (Scott knows who I'm talking about) who was so dedicated during VOG that he would level multiple characters per week just to run and rerun the VOG so he could get to 30. He was incredibly salty after the new Vanguard gear shit on his efforts, and now he barely plays the game. He actually plays less than I do, and that's saying something.

Hardly. There's still a lot of people playing this game and enjoying it. All the comments I've seen about that post have been nothing but positive. I think they're aware that if they reset everyone's gear AGAIN, there will be an even bigger backlash... especially after that statement has been made.
I still think the gameplay itself is great. They just need to make it so your gear stays relevant and tweak the nonsensical currency and upgrade materials. Those are not big enough issues to make me not want to play anymore, but to each their own.

The thing that bothers me about that article is I don't see how can they fix it? HoW is going to raise the lvl cap again. If they are going to only raise the cap 2 lvls, they have to sell gear that will get you to the same lvl as the next raid, and it will still completely invalidate all the current work. The way I see to fix it would have been, maxed raid gear gets you one lvl ABOVE the current raid. Then when the next expansion comes out, they sell gear that gets you to the SAME lvl as the previous raid.
Unless they change the entire system of leveling. Having your level tied 100% to the equipment is a mistake I believe.

Well he's right about the "Shard Economy" aspect but that's only a part of the entire puzzle. With the Energy & Shards there's essentially "Two Economies" that cannot be mixed or upgraded. That's the crux of it all.
In a lot of games the loot & reward system progression can always go a next step...get something, level up, you can sell, trade, upgrade or breakdown to the next step. Not here....you keep getting some material that you simply no-longer need, have no use for at the next stage and cannot trade, breakdown or sell for something you do need.
My last count I have...
Spinmetal -889
Weapon Parts - 1010
Ascendant Shards - 195
Ascendant Energy - 167
Motes of Light - 131
Yet we cannot trade and sell most of this for something we all need no matter what....Glimmer. If one had, wanted to level up and max out....
(1) Legendary Rifle, (1) Legendary Chest, (1) Exotic Rifle and (1) Exotic Helmet in a week...they would need 20,950 Glimmer.

The exotic gear that you earn now is exactly the same as it was when the game launched, the only difference is the light level (which is just a number and can easily be changed with code). They've tweaked the numbers before when they buffed the Mythoclast back in October (remember it went from 300 damage to 323?) I don't know why they made us re-do all the progress we made when the numbers could have easily been adjusted with some new code, but they're obviously aware that they fucked up and hopefully they get it right next time.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
I don't understand why Activision didn't sit Bungie down with Blizzard for tips on how to do an MMO. The best thing that Bungie could have done is make the expansion stuff actually better. I can understand that our "vanilla" weapons and gear would eventually become obsolete, but what sucks is when the larger part of the Dark Below weaponry isn't even half as good (especially the Vanguard / Crucible ones).
They need to stop worrying so much about players finding easy ways to beat a raid, and focus on glitches, too. Although it is refreshing to see them publicly admit that they have made mistakes.

What the heck the he use to go straight up, stop in mid air, dash all the way across and then land safely? That's a long way over and a long, long way down.

My weekly reset report; nightfalls, worthless rocket launcher, and Monte Carlo(Finally an exotic I don't have that I actually want) Finally able to find a PUG group to get through Crota on hard, no hand canon or scout, Still no ship only materials and shader. Up to Crota on my alt, hope I can find another group to finish him off. Hopefully the Crux and the other two primarys drop in the next 2 weeks, so I never have to do Crota on hard again. Got to lvl 20 with DO my reward, Strange Coin and an Energy, so sick and tired of crappy/useless rewards in those packages.

Re: Bungie - Destiny
Put some time in Destiny today. Have 3 characters to 32 and 3 each of the CE auto and pulse rifles. Also got the scout rifle, which seems to hit pretty hard even without being leveled up.
Nightfalls were, as always, miserable and the rewards were, as always, a complete joke.
