I would take a upgraded old vangaurd weapon. I just don't understand why the have nothing but garbage in the vanguard now for weapons. They even ruined the hand cannon in there. The devil you know was one better guns in the game. Now vanguard commendations are pointless once you have the armor you need. They are just another wasted space in the limited vault.

Anybody down for a VoG easy run tonight between weeklies and whatnot? I still have some weapons I'm hoping to get from there.

but yeah Vanguard weapons suck for the most part ... then again if you are new(er) to the game and aren't running raids like most of us are there is your use case right there

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones...I got a Up For Anything Auto Rifle which is better than some of the other ones I have. But I also got a new hard Light and almost have maxed my new Monte Carlo out.

So far the last 5-6 days I feel pretty good what I've landed....

By the way on the Badger CCL...don't discount that without checking it first. I bought one thru the Weapons Master but the one I got thru Nightfall is slightly different and so much better. It can do "explosive rounds" and the range is as good as some of the snipers I use. The only thing missing is the full auto but other than that a pretty decent rifle if one wants to carry a good Fusion or Shotgun.

I got a Coiled Hiss 1919 Pulse Rifle. It even had a really good roll of Full Auto and damage increase after reload.

The problem: I already have a Coiled Hiss maxed out with Full Auto and Third Eye. Oy.

I would be up for a run of the VOG tonight if we can get it together. I should be signing on in the next 30 minutes or so.

I have a level 7 Warlock right now. I am having alot of fun with the game. I am sure the repetitiveness will really start to become an issue in a few levels however. I did my first strike last night which was fun but very hard. Luckily we had a level 28 in there that was fairly good -- other wise me and the other guy would have been mincemeat. I have played the Crucible some. I am not really big on it. I have never been a big PVP guy anyway

I just finally reached 20 last night; it's funny, i thought it was a little more grindy the first few levels on Earth, but past that doing the story, each of the strikes once, and some of the bounties were enough where I didn't have to sit around grinding to level up and the game progressed naturally. Well, short of the bounties that tell you to do the patrol machines which are pretty silly. Sounds like that changes for the "end game" where it's basically strikes over and over.

OK, the Bungie weekly update is out, and well, it looks like the days of cheesing Crota's End are over.

Crota’s End – Updates

The existing Pit treasure chest reward moved to killing Ir Yut, the Deathsinger. She has a chance to drop Exotic weapons and armor, class pieces, and Radiant materials.

The Pit treasure chest will now contain Radiant Materials.

(This is the first chest. So no more cheap exotic chances. Instead, we'll have to do the deathsinger sequence, which up to this point has been skippable as it had no rewards)

Pit Encounter: Removed the physics impulse caused by exploding lanterns.

(This is the first part lamp cheese. No more getting blown from the bottom to the top)

Bridge Encounter:

Players will now be required to cross the bridge in order to complete the bridge encounter.
Players will now be required to wait for the bridge to be completed prior to crossing with the sword.

(No more sniping from the far side it would seem. They probably will make it so the Ogres don't arrive until everyone is on the other side.)

Crota will now recover from his kneeling state after a player quits.

(And there it is! No more Crota cheesing)

Vault of Glass – Update: Exotic weapon drops in the Vault of Glass are now Level 32.

(OK, some good news! Well, a new reason to play VOG again)

Iron Banner will be back on Tuesday, with updated rewards.

(Possibly Level 32 gear? They didn't specify)

OK, so here we go with the Weekly Xur Report.

Xur is located in the hangar again, this time to the right of the stairs.

His offerings this week are a far cry from last week. Let's get to the goods?



For the Titan, it's An Insurmountable Skullfort Helmet (more on that later)
For the Hunter, it's the Lucky Raspberry Chest Armor (with a very good roll)
For the Warlock, it's the Starfire Protocol Chest Armor (for the second week in a row, with the same roll)

The Weapon this week is The Last Word Hand Cannon. It's a fun gun to play with, but not really worth 23 coins at this point. Thorn, Hawkmoon and of course the fatebringer are all better options. If you have loads of coins, and don't have it, it's not a waste to buy it.

No Engram as you can see. Oy. You can buy 5 Heavy Ammo Synth packs for 1 coin this week, so there you go.

As for upgrades, well, we're starting to run out of rookies here, so now it's all about the right rolls. Here's what we have this week:

The Hunter gets the Crest Of Alpha Lupi Chest (3rd Time) And Young Ahamkara's Spine Gauntlets (3rd Time)
The Titan gets An Insurmountable Skullfort (1st Time) and Helm Of Saint-14 (2nd Time) Helmets

You may have noticed something above. Xur is offering the Skullfort as either an upgrade, or purchase. On top of that, the one for purchase is of a slightly higher roll than the upgrade version. So if you have this helmet, what should you do?

Well, the Skullfort is probably the worst Titan helmet in terms of perks. It's still decent, but it doesn't have the fun of Inmost Light or the shield enhancing benefits of Saint-14 and the Glasshouse. If you do want it, spend the 13 coins and break down your old version.

The Raspberry is a really good roll of 160 Intellect. If you need a hunter chest, this is a great option. But the symbiote and third man helms are better choices.

The last time it was offered, I advised against upgrading the MIDA Multi-Tool, as I gave an edge to the VOC. However, I upgraded it anyway. It's really growing on me as a solid weapon. If you didn't upgrade last time, now's your chance.

Well, the Titan and Hunter have had all of their gear offered for upgrade, while the Warlock is still 2 pieces short.

Only 3 exotic weapons have been skipped, with 2 of them being bounty guns, and the other being the Mythoclast.

Xur has just become depressing. I used to be excited to see what he was going to sell. Since all I seem to get from nightfals is coins now. I have so many and nothing ever to buy. Looks like a few shards for this week.

Regarding the update, the bridge should still be cheeseable, assuming you have a sunsinger or 2. As long as the bridge gets built legitimately once. If one person crosses the bridge, ever one else on the other side dies, it should still trigger the ogers. Add in a sunsinger on the other side. to die and revive to help with sniping.

Its also getting really hard to find the motivation to keep playing. Knowing that why HoW comes out I can just buy gear to get me to 33, why bother? Add in the fact that there are so many glitches then negatively effect players and yet Bungie is only concerned with fixing raid cheese. We have been losing heavy ammo on death since launch. How hard is that to fix? Also very sick of Iron Banner, didnt touch it the last two times, and I am not going to touch it this time either. How hard is it to make another PvE event? Xur can go fuck him self, all these coins/motes and nothing to spend them on.

Crap!!!....another loser week and again no Motes of Light. I've got about 95 Motes and about 103 Coins. About zero interest on everything except maybe The Last Word.

My Hunter......already has the Alpha Lupi which I like better along with Relentless Harness Chest
My Warlock....loaded with Deathsinger's Mantle and two Exotic Chests

Upgrades......zero, zada, nada!!!
Hard Light.....picked up a new version in the Crota raid and broke down the old one
Suros......already upgraded
Plan C.......I've got more Fusion Rifles than Auto and Scout and besides the Murmur Fusion Rifle is one of the best to have in the game with it's dual elemental. Plan C still might be good but not 7200 Glimmer good.

It's almost like Motes of Light and Strange Coins are becoming less relevant like Spinmetal which I have over 800+ of . For those new or doesn't have all three characters, might be ok and all good.

Ir Yut, the Deathsinger -Who the heck is that . (I do realize that we have skipped her section.)

Sad to see the cheese train go but glad to see that VoG becomes valuable to play again. Wish they would make one more circle on the skill tree for VoG gear to upgrade it to a higher level -make it costly too ( 21 ascendent shards 45 materials and 5-7000 glimmer to go up to a 36 light). Wish they would make it so that the first 2 parts of the raid made it possible for 27s to survive.

I am thankful to all our sherpas - especially Scott (who does these treks for us without complaining and without benefit to his characters.) Without you guys we would not be even close to having most of the gear we have.
