I love my auto-rifle. Let's see how it works after the nerf. I didn't think it was overpowered. If you didn't get headshots, you were done.

My legendary auto-rifle doesn't hold a candle to my rare scout-rifle.

Nightfall was pretty easy this week, also got the raid done on easy in about an hour and a half with a bunch of randoms. May try and find a group to get it done on hard on Thursday on my day off. I finally got some raid armor. I got the gauntlets twice. Sometimes I hate RNG

So I've now run the Nightfall x3 characters this week and last week and x2 characters the prior week, plus one character the week before that...9 times. I ran the raid with two characters last week and one the week before...3 times. I'd guess that I have upwards of 100 hours in the game with characters at 29, 28 and 26.

And I don't have a single exotic primary or heavy weapon to show for it. Not one.

Ha, decided to play a couple rounds in the Crucible and ended up scoring a Legendary helmet for the Titan. I'm a hunter, though. I have Legendary Gauntlets and Helmet for when I play as a Titan in the future.

Finally completed a Nightfall Strike!

Soloed it with my Warlock, and got a Vanquisher VIII. That makes 3 Legendary Auto Rifles as I also have the Grim Citizen III and Doctor Nope. And then there's my SUROS

Probabaly my best night ever last night doing the Nightfall, Daily and Weekly with two characters....

Got two Exotics... a Monte Carlo and another Hard Light along with a Legendary Helmet for my Level 12 Hunter, about 20 Rare Coins...




...I've maxed out my Vanguard points on my Warlock now and need to buy something. Her best primary is a Hard Light Auto and thinking of either a Hand Canon or a good Scout Rifle. I have the A.1F19x already for the Titan. Is the other one pretty good or should I grab that Hand Canon "The Devil You Know"

Roy...I hope you didn't mind me and Chess jumping in on your Nightfall last night. We were about to change over to our other characters and just do a daily when we saw you running the Nightfall and jumped in. FWIW...Chess tried to jump in the room upstairs and wouldn't let him...they "fix" that as well?

Don't mind at all. It made it go a lot faster.

Just finished the nightfall for my Hunter, the only character I was worried about trying to solo it with since hunters can't resurrect or have a shield. I lucked out when I saw 19K was already playing, and had a free slot, so I jumped in at the fight with Sepiks Prime. So all my characters have that glow around their heads, and I got a Legendary Auto Rifle, Machine Gun, and Rocket Launcher out of it.

Still got to do the heroic for the Hunter for 9 more coins.

sigh... I really do miss this.

Added some Legendary Boots to my character. All I need now is a legendary primary/secondary weapon and I will be set.

It took a while, but I just completed the Weekly Heroic with my Hunter. I now have 46 Strange Coins. Bring on Xur!

Decided to take my Hunter out of storage when I got a second Legendary for it. He was one of the two original characters I got started doing the story with two other friends. At Level 12 it felt a bit weird at first seeing White Engrams drop and actually looking for Green ones. My stash is full of lower Rare weapons and just was trying to level him up. It was actually pretty fun....

I've got that Exotic Bounty to do the 25 Strike Missions and need to do about 8-9 more before the weekend. Which ones are the quickest and easiest to go thru? The third part of this quest is 10000 points in PvP which I haven't done at all. Any recommendations on what's best....like the 6vs6? No doubt I would rather jump in a group here if possible.

The quickest strike is The Devils' Lair on Earth. Do it at Level 8 and you can breeze through it. It's also the easiest to do without dying. Just to warn you though, the Bad Juju is probably the worst Exotic weapon, though it does look badass.

I have my Hunter up to 26. In hindsight, I kind of wish I'd just done a second Warlock instead and had a dedicated Voidwalker that I could turn into a Sunsinger for high level content. I don't think anybody has any use for a Hunter in Raid or Nightfall...need not apply. As it stands, she's good for 9+ strange coins every week, and that's about it. Hopefully I can get people to drag her through the vault every week.

The quickest strike is probably Earth or that ogre one on the moon where you can run past just about everything but the final boss. I'd recommend just doing the playlist. Might get a few engram drops for your troubles.

I finally reached level 20 on my first character (Warlock)! So the game starts now, right?

In all seriousness, WTF do I do now? I know I have to get gear with 'Light' on it but what is the best way to go about doing that? Keep in mind, based on my odd playing hours, I've grouped maybe once or twice aside from matchmaking with randoms in basic strikes. However, I'm fairly certain it is BYOF (bring your own fireteam) for all of the missions, strikes, etc where Light gear drops. Oh, and Crucible Marks are out of the question as I suck at PvP.

So, the daily/weekly heroic strike and daily heroic story mission is out of reach unless I can get a team together. Do I do the Public Event (gold tier), and then the Strike Playlist (viper, tiger, etc) to earn marks? Do bounty and patrol missions now award marks?

Why o' why did Bungie not implement matchmaking across the board? Let the randoms sink or swim on their own but at least let us try!

I would really appreciate any tips or suggestions you have on how I should proceed with the "end-game".

Yes. Farm public events for marks and ascendent material. Run the strike playlist for marks to buy your first legendary bits and potentially get a few legendary bits as drops. Both should matchmake you with randoms...the strike playlist directly and public events indirectly.

Public events also give you a shot at strange coins, and you should start doing the weekly heroic strike as soon as you possibly can for more coins. Odds are your first exotic armor bit will come from Xur, and they're usually only 13 coins.

That's your ticket to at least 27 or 28.

The other secret to getting exotics: Play with me.

The last 4 Nightfalls and the last 2 Raids I've done, everybody got exotics but me (though I did get 9 strange coins on one of them).

Sitting on 60+ strange coins and 40+ motes of light. Bring it Xur.

I find Nexus much faster and easier. With the exception of the 3 servitors at the start, you can skip the entire level.

Getting Crucible marks isn't based on how good or bad you are. You get marks win or lose (3 for wins, 2 for losses). Now doing Crucible bounties can involve skill, so getting enough Crucible rep could be a problem.

So here's the problem: Vanguard Marks are only good at the Vanguard Vendors. Crucible marks are good at the crucible and the three independent vendors. The independent vendors sell a class armor that when you wear it takes all the rep from Vanguard and Crucible and takes it for themself. That way, if you suck in PvP, you can still spend crucible marks, by ranking the faction of your choice to Rank 3.

Or just focus on Vanguard. You get a Legendary item when you hit Rank 3 and every Rank beyond that. Do as many of the bounties you can every day, and make sure you earn 100 Vanguard Marks every week.

Thanks! Is it best then if I focus on first getting Vanguard to Rank 3 and then pick one of the independent factions to rank? This way I'd eventually have 2 faction vendors to choose from and I'd unlock the easier one (in terms of gainng rep/marks) first.
