Saw this in the PSN thread (credit to Decker) and thought it was worth showing here. I posted a list of the free PSN+ games a few pages back, but it's nicer to have a visual to give you an idea what folks have been getting for their $50/year:

And this was important enough to post in two separate threads?

Anyone who thinks that PSN is faster now is out of their goddamn minds. I've been downloading a couple PSN titles I bought last week for hours and hours and hours.

Maybe I just don't notice any more.

I'm sure most folks already know this, but when you turn off the PS3 from the XMB, it gives you the option to finish and install all downloads before shutting down automatically.

Awesome. I know what I'm downloading when I get home. Glad I waffled on buying it.

Which makes one hesitate on buying anything on PSN. They really have over-delivered on the PS+ free game front.

This is the thing I hope they improve the most on the PS4. Everything Sony has said thus far has been gold. I just want to know that the interface and network are going to improve and that the system and games won't take forever to update like they do now.

I'm one that didn't, thanks for posting this. I've never shut my PS3 off from the XMB in the several years I've had it, so I didn't know this feature was available.

Now I'm a little disappointed in how much time I spent manually installing things.

Not everything. The tidbit about PSN+ being required for online multiplayer was a sour note, it sucks to see that become an industry standard when online multiplayer access should be a part of the game purchase package.

Right? Those greedy bastards they need to take notes from MS and deliver us games for free that NOBODY owns, like Halo 3!!

re: PS4: All the latest updates, such as...umm...uhh...hmm...

If you don't have PSN+ right now, you'd be absolutely crazy to not pick up a card at Best Buy this week.

It's $10 off for a year, making it $40, and it took me literally 5 minutes to make a free Reward Zone and Gamer's Club account and print up the coupon.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Video-Ga...at271000050001

I'm leaning toward asking my girlfriend to sign up and pick up another one, so I'll be good for 2 years...then I have to decide whether to wait for the PS4 to use it or to use it now and get a bunch of free stuff for PS3 that I may or may not get around to playing.

I printed out a coupon and bought it in store, then went back to the reward zone website and purchased another one online with the same $10 off discount.

1. Son of a bitch.

2. Can you stack PS+ memberships like Xbox Live?

I just purchased a 2nd one with the $10 discount.

It wouldn't let me do it the same day, I bought the first one.

Yes, but I don't know if there is a limit.

I believe Xbox Live still has a 3 year limit?

Good call. Thanks.

When that one comes in the mail, I'll probably go ahead and hook up the PS3.

Is there a way to lock in Vita licenses without a Vita? Thinking I might get my kid one for Christmas. Would be super cool to have 5-10 games out of the box.

Also love the ability to let him play the PS4 virtually while we are doing other stuff in the living room. That is a phenomenal feature to be built into the hardware of the PS4 and not be software dependent.

re: PS4: All the latest updates, such as...umm...uhh...hmm...

There's no limit, AFAIK. I just checked my subscription and it now expires 3/24/2017.
I've been saying for two years in the PSN thread how awesome PS Plus is. Glad I'm finally getting heard now.

BTW : While checking I just noticed that when I grabbed the free copy of Uncharted 3 (I don't really know why I did since I already have the CE complete with statue, ring necklace and belt buckle), that it also includes 5 single player add-ons. That's a nice surprise for game owners.
edit : I don't think it's actually five separate DLC packs; they all seem to be related to a single DLC apparently. Oh well, free stuff is free stuff

re: PS4: All the latest updates, such as...umm...uhh...hmm...

The only add-ons I got when downloading Uncharted 3 were "single-player 2D movies," "single-player 3D movies," and 2 others for multiplayer. I cancelled the 3D movies and the multiplayer ones since I won't need any of those, but I'm not sure if they're required because I've been downloading the base game and 2D movies for well over a week now.

Yes, you can download the Vita games from the PS3 store (and cancel the download before it starts), and then you'll always have access to redownload them as long as you're a plus member.

Thanks. I went ahead and used my first Plus card and locked in licenses...and like you guys said, all of my other PS+ came back as well...even some stuff I'd forgotten about.

As nice as it is to get free stuff, navigating and waiting on the fucking PS Store makes me want to kick a puppy.

edit...leaning toward locking in a third year.
