I have to believe the PS4 and 720 will be thicker than this mock-up. The AMD CPU/GPU should generate a decent amount of heat - and box needs to be properly ventilated and have enough room to allow the fans to push out the hot air. The last thing they want to do is trap hot air inside this thing.

Well, I never claimed it was authentic, just that your complaint about it being "too big" was stupid. If the slot for the disc is 12 cm, that makes the mock-up maybe 30 cm wide. Why would you say that's too big, when it was way smaller than a launch PS3 and thin and stackable (both unlike a PS3)?
Clearly you've got some deep-seeded long-standing hatred of all things Sony. Why not just stay out of these threads altogether?

You're talking about a made up PS4. You're actually defending it because you thought it was a real Sony PS4.

Considering the size of most ultra-books, I wouldn't be surprised to see the new console (PS4 or Xbox) being super thin.

While I wish this would be the case, this won't be happy. I expect them to be similar in size to the current revisions of the 360 and PS3. The need for optical drives, mechanical hard drives, and fans to cool the CPU (and possibly GPU) will prevent this from being thin.

I don't know why all the fuss on how big/small it is. Does it really matter? Are you trying to take it to the bar to get it drunk and put your dick in it? Will your family or friends judge you for having something that looks like that in your entertainment center? As long as it plays games and doesn't sound like a rocket ship taking off or keeps overheating and has to be repaired, I don't give a shit.

I think most are simply concerned about shape/size because it's getting tougher to find room in their entertainment center for it.

Most are smart enough to realize that something 12 inches wide, 6 inches deep and 1.5 inches thick is preferable in a home entertainment center than something 12 inches tall, 10 inches deep and 3.25 inches thick that's designed to look pretty when displayed upright on a countertop.

Personally, these need to be a small to fit in with the AppleTVs and Rokus of the world. The Streaming aspect will be a big feature and if it looks like a video game console it might not make it into many HT displays. They now have competition from small boxes. Hence my Wii U remark about it being big in the back but not the front.

How very Tron. I like the form factor and how well it'll fit in with other components, but I would hope that that LED bar in there can be disabled as it seems like it would distracting for most front-loaded entertainment centers.

Damn, that thing looks sexay... hopefully you can controller the brightness and color of the light...

Although... I wonder if it is just chrome and is reflecting the lights....
