I'm the opposite. I couldn't imagine paying for Killzone. I've played it before in Halo, CoD, Crysis, etc. Run from point a to point b. Point gun. Shoot bad guys/aliens*. *yawn*

Knack is a 3D action platformer which we don't see a lot of anymore. This is what a new generation is about. Taking a chance on a new IP trying to do something different or something we don't see a lot of. Too many sequels for launch titles this time out. Knack & Ryse are the only two new IPs between the two and that's just sad.

Then again I can say the same as lopper, maybe it's because Knack is in my wheelhouse. It's going to scratch an itch that doesn't get scratched that often.

*and yes I get the hypocrisy as I'm back into Borderlands again.

Is there any news on when the PS app will pop up? I remember reading you can purchase games from the app and have them download before you even get home...if your out of the house of course

There's something in the aesthetics of the game that bothers me about Knack. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but it looks ugly and unappealing to me. There's something so delightful about the Ratchet and Clank universe, about LBP and also Puppeteer (not to mention the Super Mario Galaxy world or Fable's unique look). This game's look just doesn't seem to have the same charming world feel to me (though that's just based on the You Tube clips I've seen, not the actual game).

I still have yet to figure out what the hell I am buying to go with my PS4. I think I am getting AC:Black Flag, COD:Ghosts and Battlefield 4 for the XBOX One but I have yet to make up my mind about my PS4 selection. I didn't enjoy the first Killzone game that much but this new one looks fantastic. The other part of me wants to get Knack because it looks like fun and it is something my son could play. If the new Infamous game was a launch day release I wouldn't be having this issue picking a game.

The last tweet from Shu that I saw about it said something like "close to launch".

They seem to be trying something different with objectives done in optional orders and in optional styles (see the trio of videos I posted last night).

But overall point taken.

Killzone is right in my wheelhouse and it is a series that has improved with each iteration and I think it has been the most graphicly impressive of the next gen shooters however it may get lost in the wake of BF4 and CoD again.

I wonder about that. In the Xbox One, who does the same, my guess it's because of the virtual machines, when the console is turned on, wonder how long it takes to load everything, you can just switch.

So I wonder about the tech in the PS4 to be able to do that. I know that in a traditional PC with a fast SSD you can't load the game that fast. Maybe they are just running some tricks with this game.

Oh, and I think Killzone has no competition right now. Yes, it's a shooter, but COD and BF4 are different style. Halo and Gears are the same style as Killzone, and I don't see any other game, in either console, that's in that kind of style. Or maybe I'm forgetting something.

FWIW, Killzone has been the top selling next gen game on Amazon for the last week or so. It's been hovering between #15-20, and the trio of CoD/BF4/AC4 have been bunched together around #30.

I still expect CoD and BF4 to sell more copies both on PS4 and obviously across all platforms, but Killzone is definitely in the mix on PS4.

I definitely want to try Killzone, but at a price drop.

Why would you get those games on XBox One over PS4? The only reason I would is if you have bargains lined up (like Battlefield 4 on BF) and want to get the physical discs in the trade in deal.

He didn't know if it was, but the answer is no, only a speaker and 3.5" port for a mic/headset. His voice command was going through the PS4 camera.

That struck me as odd too.

If I were getting both consoles, those are probably the last three games I'd pick for XB1 over PS4. AC4 has timed exclusive content on PS4, CoD is confirmed native 1080p on PS4, and although BF historically has sold better on Xbox, the BF community has always lasted longer on PS.

I'd probably get all three of those on PS3 and get Forza and DR3 for XB1.

CoD has the exclusivity window on the Xbox so that might be the reason. I know, as a primarily CoD player, that played a big role in my choice.

Yeah, I'll buy that. But PS4 has the game itself exclusive for a week.

And keep an eye on the 720P thing if that's the sort of thing that matters to you. As unbelievable as it sounds, I'm now convinced it's true.

IF...I keep my per-order it'll be Killzone along with Knack...for one 6yr old and don't forget the F2P games like Warfare which a few here have already committed to including myself...IF I keep my per-order which is slightly titling back into the "Getting it" column.

Speaking of per-orders...has anyone seen other "specials' offered thru BB, Gamestop or Amazon? I was hoping BB would have something for some of the nex gen games...Knack...but haven't seen nothing.

DLC. ie: map packs. All on XO sooner than PS4, but if you only have a PS4, it doesn't matter. At all.

If I'm getting the PS3 Prestige Edition will I be able to get the maps when I transfer?

I don't want to speak for him, but the stick layout on the controller should easily be better for FPS's. I know the PS4 has a new controller, but the stick placement remains the same.

Online could be another factor. Xbox has always had a better online community when it came to multiplayer. And now that PS4 requires PS+ for multiplayer as well, people may migrate over to XB1 for the established community and friends that people have from 360.

I know both of those were the reason I'm getting BF4 for XB1 over PS4.

While I agree that the 360 controller design is better for FPS, I've never been convinced that the stick placement had as much to do with it as people think. I always thought it was the more ergonomic shape, the triggers and the concave sticks. The stick placement is just what people got used to, so it felt "off" when they used symmetrical sticks, but the stick that matters is in the same place on both.

I'm not the greatest at FPS, but it seems to me that the right stick is the one where you need all of the precision, and left stick is more for gross movement of your character.

If anything, I think I'd like the WiiU pro controller for FPS, if stick placement were my deciding factor and I didn't mind playing in 720p. That thing looks amazing.
