This is a good site that will not only have all the coverage on Gamescom but has some other good links near the bottom. It's on the offical UK Sony site....

Honestly, I just want my local broadcast channels, FX/FXX, Food, HGTV and I'd be good with cable. I can watch ESPN at the bar.

I wouldn't have cable at all if my GF didn't pay for it. I watch about 3-5 shows consistently, and they are on 3 networks (BBC, AMC, HBO). My preference would be to just pay for those shows. Even if it's a couple of bucks an episode, I'd be way ahead, as those shows deliver under 100 episodes per year combined...probably closer to 50.

But she wants to watch Castle reruns over and over, so it is what it is.

I'd have to find somewhere to watch sports, I guess.

War Thunder for PlayStation 4 to debut at Gamescom

The PlayStation 4 version of War Thunder will make its world premiere at Gamescom in Cologne this week, Gaijin Entertainment has announced.

“Sony has been a great partner in bringing War Thunder to PS4, and we are excited to show the console version for the first time this year at Gamescom,” said Kirill Yudintsev, Creative Director at Gaijin Entertainment.

“We have harnessed the power of the PS4 to deliver cutting-edge graphics, cross platform battles with PC players, intelligent personalization and deeply integrated social capabilities to appeal to seasoned players and PlayStation enthusiasts alike.

“More details about the console version will be announced at Gamescom 2013.”

The World War II combat game is currently in open beta on PC, and has been played by over three million users.
It's not news that it will be on PS4, but this is the first actual announcement.

Cross platform is awesome... although even as a heavy, heavy PC gamer, i've never even heard of War Thunder

I'm hoping there's an option to not do cross-platform play on this particular game. I'm not looking forward to getting worked over by guys who've been playing the PC beta for a year.

I just thought it was neat that there was cross-platform play as a possibility.

There is very little chance that either console will launch in October, especially the PS4. I'm still betting the X1 hits the first week of November, with the PS4 a week or two behind. Unless the PS4 wants to launch without a few of its "launch" titles like Killzone...

I can now take nothing you say seriously. I mean what kind of depraved individual doesn't like beer.

Do you at least like good coffee?

Lol, yeah I enjoy a good cup of coffee although I don't really get "good" coffee at work...but it is free.

re: PS4: Games you don't want, but it's $100 less! (11/15)

I'm absolutely sticking with the October launch date (5 Nov at the absolute latest), but I'm dialing back game predictions to Media Molecule and maybe the second Guerrilla team...and probably a PSN title from Housemarque. I'd like to see a logo for an obvious sequel at the end, but I get why they'd save Naughty Dog and/or Santa Monica for the VGAs. They also need something for Tokyo. Edit: Also an indie showcase and a F2P showcase.

I think Sony is feeling pretty good about where they are, and they probably feel like the Vita price drop, a few Vita games, a couple of PS4 reveals and an October PS4 launch date is all they really need.

I'm not sure why anybody would think that Killzone is any less ready than any of the X1 launch titles. If anything, I'd say that Killzone and Forza are the only launch titles on either console that look fully baked.

For Microsoft, it's looking like Crackdown 3 and free FIFA for Europe.

Sorry, I have a $399 price limit for consoles.

I'm betting my aversion to $499 consoles is slightly stronger than your aversion to beer. Just sayin.

I know it is extremely unlikely, but I would love for both consoles to launch on the same day!

The only way that would happen is if that day were Nov 5.

Can you imagine the chaos of both consoles launching alongside CoD: Ghosts (on all consoles)???

"What are you in line for?"

Surprised that Microsoft didn't announce a date. I will be more surprised if Sony doesn't announce its date either.

Microsoft will release along COD. Sony before that. So yeah, I also think the PS4 is going to be released in late October.

I expect MS to announce their date after Sony.

They did say there would be late-breaking news overnight from MS...

But why wait? They aren't going to changed the date based on Sony's date, right?
