Is there something you need to do to see Vita trophies on PS3? I see PS3/Vita on Vita, but only PS3 on PS3?

Change the trophy mode to Online from Offline. It takes a bit longer to sync, but you will see everything.

Oh, and just so you know, while you create all the PSN accounts you want, I don't think there's a way (or at least not an easy one) to change your PSN ID.

So choose wisely.

You don't want to be the dude who picks up a PS3 on his way home from a day of playing Ultimate Frisbee and names himself "frizby" forever and ever.

re: PS4: All the latest updates, such as...umm...uhh...hmm...

That's not really your PSN ID is it??? That's terrible.

I own the ID "chessmartin", which is my actual name, but I just tied 3 years of PS Plus to "frizby", so I guess I'll just suck it up unless they allow changes or merges at some point.

In other news, the best video I've found yet for Planetside 2 in that it actually explains what the hell is going on and is really well presented:

I'm absurdly hyped for this game!

re: PS4: All the latest updates, such as...umm...uhh...hmm...

I'm still a n00b at Planetside, but one tip I would give you (and this is assuming it all works the same as it does on PC) is when you create your first character for whatever faction you choose, go ahead and create one for each of the other factions as well right away. You will most likely want to try the other factions eventually anyways, so create them all when you start playing and log them in each day just to collect the passive certs you get. That way when you do get the itch to play another faction you will start out with a bunch of cert points to spend instead of starting out with nothing.
And I say log them all in every day because I THINK passive certs cap at 24 hours. I haven't tested it to confirm that, though.

Don't worry, I was picking mine when the PS3 was first released and got stuck with KJK, which was completely random. I finally changed it a couple years ago though when I picked up a second PS3. Good thing I don't care about trophies.

...well; if that's the best (or worse) we're called then I'm more than happy to be acquainted with a fine bunch of CJ's.

re: PS4: All the latest updates, such as...umm...uhh...hmm...

Just some new technical details on the PS4 from IGN awhile ago....

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/07/...-playstation-3

*Engadget reports that the accompanying documents reveal a "max clock frequency" of 2.75GHz, which gives us an idea of how much power the box is packing.

*What's more interesting though is the fact that the PlayStation 4's operating temperature is listed as being between five and 35 degrees Celsius, which is cooler than the PS3. While Sony's current console is meant to run between 45 and 55 degrees Celsius

*The only other piece of interesting information is that the PS4 looks set to weigh around 2.8kg, which is significantly lighter than the original fat PS3 which was 5kg.

I think you'll find that the Playstation guys on here are a pretty decent bunch (other than Slider, who is a silent ****monkey). We've been a quiet little minority on DVD Talk this entire generation, but we've also had a ton of crazy shenanigans in Warhawk, Battlefield, CoD and a bunch of other games.

I think you'll also find that Playstation has a slightly different online crowd. They tend to skew a bit older, and I run into a ton of Brits in Battlefield. That may change a bit bit next gen if the PS4 is more popular, but I hope not.

Here's a really good interview with the art director. Toward the end, he says "We are aiming for this year."

That could mean closed or open beta, but given the PS4 architecture, it can't be a hard port. I also like to hear their philosophies on purchases being "sidegrades" and "cosmetic" rather than pay to win.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/amGAFaMhoCw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I also read elsewhere that their optimization target was "PC at maximum settings".

re: PS4: All the latest updates, such as...umm...uhh...hmm...

Well the crowd I run with on the 360 are "older" who play for fun, laughs, a good time with friends and don't take gaming seriously or to the extreme if you know what I mean. We'll play with anyone who fits that bill but...it's the know-it-alls, the fanboys and foul mouths we don't care for. We're just laid back.

I don't care much about the "Console War Talk"...this system is better than that system crap. Despite being with MS & Xbox since 2002 I never really put down the PS3 and in fact thought about getting one several times (Did have the PS1 & 2). Have 360 friends and friends at work that have PS3's and we don't bash each other. In fact I hope the XO does well because when Sony and MS does good, it pushes each of them to do better.....which gamers in general come out ahead. I just feel the PS4 fits what I'm looking for more now than the XO and it's more than just games.

I think gamers benefit more when one falters(not fails!), not when both succeed. It pushes them to compete more. Without MS continually updating Live, I think the PS3 could have easily gone the way of the Wii in regards to OS updates, minimal changes and few & far between. Instead they were playing catch up and went the opposite direction with 10x as many updates.

Everytime I see a Planetside 2 video I'm amazed this is a Free-to-Play game. I would be thrilled to even pay $30.00-$40.00 for something like this. I know Titanfall received all sorts of Gamespot Awards at E3 but the scale, size, options, playability, and long term of Planetside just seems unimaginable. That was a good video to see and hear explaining it all. And it is more than just a wide open shooter. I was seriously going to get either BF4 or COD but the more I see of this the more I'll keep tabs of it closer to launch day. It's really impressive.

Well Planetside 2 isn't new, so it'd be tough to give it awards.

I was expecting it to be a full priced game(and would have been fine with it). I was pleasantly surprised with Sony keeping it free on PS4.

Seven minute Planetside 2 guide for the six different classes...recommend 1080P:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Ypk1wXJic5U" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I suspect I'll be playing a lot of Medic, Heavy Assault and Light Assault, probably in that order.

I have a feeling that I will find a way to give these guys a few bucks for weapons and upgrades just to support them...especially if it's as addictive as it looks.

re: PS4: All the latest updates, such as...umm...uhh...hmm...

So Amazon attempted to authorize my bank card today for the full purchase price of the system, but it was declined since I was issued a new card last week and need to update it. You have 72 hours to change it or they'll cancel the order.

It's not a big deal since I can change my card, but for those that may have used a bank card and the funds aren't in there FYI. I'm kind of surprised they tried pre-auuthorizing it 4 months in advance.
