Yeah the NES thing was the best part of the video, I would actually really like to have that
Amazingly that game has never been "remastered". The closest thing we got was the NES Classics line for GBA. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I grabbed the GC version of TP last year for a pretty good deal...only played a little, but what I did play was leagues better than the Wii version.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
The Direct last night was great. Its a day 1 for me. The only bummer is retailer specific DLC.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
What's funny is I seem to recall most of the reviews saying Twilight Princess was a game you HAD to play on the Wii, you wouldn't get the full experience on the Gamecube, etc.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
So it doesn't look like either version of Assassin's Creed is coming to Wii U this year. Has Ubisoft given any updates about the release date of Watch Dogs or did they scrap that too?

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Is that it? Hopefully that's free since it's advertising for Mercedes.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
It is. There's a patch that same day too, heavy on fixing online multiplayer stuff.
8/27 update to add map display on the TV screen, 3 free Mercedes-Benz karts: GLA, W25 Silver Arrow, 300 SL Roadster. Records screen w/ total coins, online win-loss record, character selection rates, etc. being added. Improved online stability. Default menu selection following GP changing to next race. Last used kart customization added to save. Edit others' highlights. |

I see plenty of advertising for other real world products in other games so I don't really care. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Looks like the patch is going to include an onscreen map too.
|
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I actually don't mind this sort of advertising. Would be great if we could change the cart colors in a future update.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I realize this is probably a fringe use case, but I need to vent.
I have been using my Sony Gold Wireless Headset to listen to game audio for MK8 through the gamepad even when I am playinhg on the TV. It sounds good, and it is less bothersome to the rest of the house. I just started Wind Waker HD. The only way to get game audio out of the gamepad is by using off TV play. Not a deal breaker, but annoying. |

Pretty cool trailer of some of Wii U's upcoming (and a few current) titles. It's a UK trailer, so some dates are a little later (Toad Tracker in 2014 in America). |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I need to select my Platinum reward for the year. I think it's down to either NES Remix or Earthbound. What's the general consensus?
|
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
NES Remix is fun, but if you haven't played Earthbound, get that. It's a classic.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Why on Earth would you do that? I'm going to say I'm in 100% disagreement on that one; not about Earthbound, but getting a physical copy of Remix. NES Remix is the ideal downloadable game. It's great in short play sessions between other 'real' games. Putting in a disc to play 5 minutes here or 10 minutes there would be a huge PITA. Honestly, it would be a fantastic 3DS game, but Nintendo is on a roll for putting the wrong games on the wrong systems lately.
I got Dr. Luigi and have yet to try it out. Just been rocking the PS4 lately. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Thanks for the reminder, I forgot to choose my Gold Level game. I still have 5 unopened games from Christmas and should have entered them earlier and gotten platinum status, but alas.... I settled for The Adventures of Link.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Thanks for the input! Grabbed Earthbound.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Do platinum members get to pick a game from the platinum section and one from the gold section or just one game overall?

Disney Infinity is now a free download.
Still requires a base and figures though. |
