Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
RIP Wii U :(
I was really hoping to get more use out of it other than Mario & party games. I guess there's still a chance that Zelda will be released on it but I see that as a long shot with the no show at E3. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Didn't N say NX was not a console...?
|
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Pathetic. Like I said in the E3 thread, how tough would it be for them to do a 2D Metroid game, just in HD? All they'd need is a quick easy story and a new map with some 2D HD assets. Done and done! It's like they're scared of "going back" to an old formula, even though it's one most people would like.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Boy, I'm glad I skipped buying the Wii U. I've had my eyes on it since it came out. But waiting for a good price drop and reading this thread, I kept pushing it off. Sound like its on its way to winding down now.

The scenario I'm envisioning is that the NX is a "platform" rather than a specific piece of hardware. Think how you can play the same games on your iPhone and iPad...or your Android phone and tablet. There'll be a handheld SKU and a console SKU, and most/all of the games are buy-once-play-anywhere. |

In all fairness, he did say HD ;)

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
And 2D, as in Super Metroid - Other M was some retarded 2D/3D hybrid.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I would say no, unless you really like Mario Party already. It's basically more of the same, but with added content walls unlocked by Amiibo (at least the MP Amiibo are easy to find, except for freaking Toad). So similar minigames, and the same structure where it doesn't matter what you do for the 45 minutes you're on the board, because the last place guy could win it all and steal all your stars for absolutely no reason at all. Of course, that's part of the charm, and that's why my young daughter loves it so much (our first game, I was crushing her, and then she stole two of my stars by getting a lucky space, and she got an extra star for being in last place for much of the game... what kind of rule is that?)

Money saved. Thanks!

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Just started playing Capt. Toad, enjoyable through the first few boards.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Is there a fucking reason the catalog handheld titles are exclusive to the 3DS or do they not care about Wii U users wanting to purchase them as well?

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I've had this issue for a while, but anyone using the WiiU on an HDMI switch? The U got relegated to the backup TV, and so there's a switch to connect to the single HDMI port on the tv. When watching regular tv, every so often the WiiU will power up in standby mode, take control of the HDMI output, then shut off after a few minutes. It doesn't matter which slot in the switch it goes on, it completely takes over. I have no idea why standby would even need to power on video out, but anyone else have this problem/have a solution, other than turning off standby?

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I've got all of my consoles on one HDMI switch. I've never had the Wii U start up and take over. I do have standby enabled on it. The PS3 will when it turns itself on to do its daily check for updates.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
This makes me sad: Nintendo asked Burnout Developers to make a Wii U F-Zero
This was back in 2011 mind you. They were also offered Mad Max and the original Forza (which is probably good they passed on). |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Man, the last F-Zero (GBA) didn't even rate a localization? seriously? How much translating could that have possibly entailed?

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I'm seeing speculation that Fatal Frame will be eShop only in North America. That would leave me out. Some have been worrying that NOA won't be releasing Devil's Third. I haven't had a tennis game in a while, so I'll look at Mario Tennis. I may end out the year with no more Wii U titles.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
Really confused on Yoshi's Woolly World. I saw a review from IGN on Youtube. I go to Amazon and it's listed as December 31, 2015 for release
Nevermind. Googled and see it comes out Thursday  |

For me, Fatal Frame is by far the most anticipated title on the Wii U since...well since I got the system. |

Not in the U.S. Despite the fact that it's fully localized and ready to go, Nintendo of America decided to hold it back until October 16th.
I wonder if you can go on the e-shop, change your countries ip to EU and buy it that way? |
