I would totally re-buy Xenoblade if they let me play on the classic controller... I don't even remember if it used the wiimote functionality at all.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I meant with the game pad, so I don't have to plug in the classic controller to a Wiimote (the battery sucking king), which is one of the more awkward design decisions they made last gen.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I know this may sound like a dumb question but what do you have to do to hook up an external hard drive to the Wii U? I'm new to this sort of thing. Thanks for any help you can give me on this matter.

Or you can get a portable HD, without external power. Using a Y USB cable it pulls enough power from both ports on the Wii U.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I was looking at getting rid of my original Wii. Are there any reasons to keep it? Can the Wii U play GameCube games?

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
The Wii U cannot play GameCube games (not without a hack, anyway).
I am not at all a fan of the Wii U's approach to BC -- the console has to reboot to Wii mode, which is kind of slow and cumbersome -- but I can definitely see how it might be more appealing than having another entire console hooked up. |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
 Thanks for the help guys.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
It's less of a PITA to play Wii games on the Wii U than it is to have a separate Wii.

NES Remix Pack is $21 at Walmart.
(Frustratingly, I just ordered it off Amazon last night for $30!) Super Smash Bros. is $41.05 at Walmart too. |

Sorry you missed 'em! The prices were that way most of the day.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
This was suspected but (I believe?) unconfirmed until today, but Kirby and the Rainbow Curse will be priced at $39.99, while Mario Party 10 will retail for $49.99. Always nice to see Nintendo continue to experiment with not-$60 price points!

I went to the Walmart site yesterday and it was $41.05. Ordered it for In Store pick up. Thanks! |

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
$39.99 plus my GCU membership means Kirby went from a wait and see to a must buy.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
^Same.

Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
I just tried entering in a couple of old game codes at Club Nintendo, but neither one gave me any additional points/coins.
What's the best way to contact a CS person to help me? Thanks in advance! |
Re: The Wii U: From "cool" Sony to evil Nintendo
You don't. Most old codes are expired already.
