Could you post a few different pics of it? Thanks!

I will tomorrow.

Here is a collection of some of the stuff from the 2012 Toy Fair in NY:

http://www.thehdroom.com/news/Skylan...and-More/10275

There's footage of the new Cynder and Zook, a brand new Air Skylander (the Eagle) and a new Magic Skylander named Alchemist, and the only revealed Giant, Tree Rex (which they are speculating comes with the game).

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Since I'm bored and aggravated by the complete lack of figures locally I went ahead and e-mailed Toys R Us. I wanted to tell them that it's odd to have a limit on the Skylander figures you can order at their site but yet people here and at other boards have witnessed people completely wiping out the figures at the local stores. I don't expect much of a response but I feel better getting it off my chest.

I think Cynder is female.

I watched the Family Gamer TV segment on that page, and it sounded like the 8 regular Skylanders (coming with Giants) are just going to be new poses on old characters, with around 4 having the led enhancement, but they would have the same stats. Did I hear that right? I was hoping for 8 new regulars in addition to the 8 new giants.

Zook looks cool, love the rocket launcher.

I found it funny in the Family Gamer TV intro, the stack of games included Red Dead Redemption, and Bioshock.

The way that I understand it (from what my friend said about the fair), there are 8 giants and only one was at the fair, that being Tree Rex.

There were two old characters with new poses: Cynder and Zook

There were two new characters: Unnamed Eagle (Air) and Alchemist (Magic)

So I think that it's safe to assume that we are getting:
  • 8 Giants (one for each element)
  • 8 new characters (one for each element)
  • 8 old characters (with new poses, attacks, LED enhancements, etc.)

Either way, my wallet is screaming.

Definitely in for new characters. I don't think I want/need remolds of existing characters.

Ahhhh.... yes - I forget that aspect. So far I've managed to *not* try the new ones until I actually give them to 'em. You could always try them on a new game and simply delete it when you're done... *unless* you have all the save slots tied up!

Several singles too: Eruptor, Zap, Boomer, Wrecking Ball, and Hex.

That 3 pack with Stealth Elf and Pirate Seas are sold out... Darklight Crypt is almost gone...

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Managed to get Darklight and Empire off Amazon today (thanks zoolert!) That just leaves Cynder to find for currently available figures.

Did you get Empire for $20 from Amazon or from another vendor for more?

Re: Skylanders, Anyone?

Thanks for the Amazon update. Fuck Toys R Us....I'll buy the rest elsewhere. I ordered 4 figures that I'll set back for Easter gifts.

I'd like to find the Empire of Ice somewhere. What stores have carried it?

I'm out of the loop on this game. Do you need all the figures to complete the game? i.e. areas locked out until you buy certain creatures?

Nope. You can get 1000/1000 and finish the game with the three figures it comes with. It may not be easy, but it can be done. There are areas that are locked unless you get one of each element though, making 100%-ing the game impossible (there are a dozen challenges for each level, but they aren't tied to achievements).

$19.99 - I refuse to pay more than retail for any of these.

You lucky duck, I've never seen it on Amazon for $20. Good find.

Went to TRU at opening time, went right to the back, found one Empire of Ice pack and bought it.

The only singles they had were Boomer and Drobot. They also had a couple Dark Light Crypts and a bunch of Pirate Seas Adventure Packs.

My kids just informed me that they already have Slam Bam at Level 10 with all of his upgrades. That was quick.

He was the very first character that we leveled up all the way and we did it in maybe 2 hours.
